As the R-Kelly case looms over our head and the recent Texas Abortion Law passing, there is so much to talk about! Unfortunately, both issues directly impact the black community. We lose the most and our people are hit the hardest. Quenise and Brandon dive into conversation about how black men are disproportionately sentenced compared to black men.
The black community reels as R-Kelly, an icon and living legend, is found guilty in sex trafficking. Following his 20 year run of evading the law it not only makes us question why so many other perpetrators got off “scott free”? It also makes us questions why Texas passed the new Abortion Law? Breaking Down The Pipeline To Prison
In hopes to light the fire in the black community Brandon and Quenise invite Genie Dawkins, parent advocate coach, to talk about how the IEP is a pipeline from school to the prison system. For many years we have downplayed each other’s mental health issues. We have seen celebrities harm themselves or worse from the stress of the limelight. Where is the community black world?
