Purple Rain was released in movie theaters in 1984. The accompanying soundtrack contained more than a few all-time classics. None more vital than the title track, "Purple Rain". An iconic performance, musically and vocally, the song has inspired musicians from all over to try their hand at playing it.

Iconic performers have been putting their stamp on this CCR classic for decades. We kick back and let the river take us through the wonderful world of Proud Mary covers.

From 1994-2010, with the help of Rick Rubin, Johnny Cash released 6 albums on Rubin's American record label. The albums consist largely of covers. On this week's episode, we pull our favorites from all 6 albums and discuss the impact they had on Johnny Cash's renewed, and lasting legacy.
