Blk Mum To Midwife Blogcast

By Blk Mum To Midwife

Hi, I'm Chelsea a 30 something INFJ mum. Along with my social media accounts that barely get the attention they deserve, this blogcast gives snippets of my journey to becoming a midwife. I’ll be discussing the parent-student juggle, placement, assignments, what's going on in the big wide world, as well as what going on in this head of mine as this black mum (with ADHD) becomes a badass babycatcher!

Be So Others Can See - Ep2 - Neurodiversity and the Student Midwife Experience

In the 2nd episode of this 4 part mini-series, I will be talking to Nicolette Porter (@Nicolette_stmw), fellow 150 Leaders cohort member and co-editor of The Student Midwife Journal. We take a deep dive into our experiences of navigating the midwifery degree with learning difference and share what has and hasn't worked for us. This episode's pearls of wisdom come from midwifery lecturer Emilie Edwards (@_Emilie_Edwards), a truly inspiring educator.

9. Checking in

Hi all! This episode is just me catching you up on what's been going on for me. Grades are rolling in, my PAD is still the bane of my existence, I'm back on delivery suite and I've decided to join the Everyday Racism Book Club, (you should too).

I talk about how colourism is an enemy of progress and also why I don't understand people who are offended by trans and non-binary folks being included in the language we use.
