Welcome to Season 2 of the BLK Podcast! On the first episode of the latest season we are hosting one of the “100 Most Influential People in Finance”. Professor Edward Altman is the Max L. Heine Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is also the Director of Research in Credit and Debt Markets at the NYU Salomon Center for the Study of Financial Institutions. Prior to serving in his present position, Professor Altman chaired the Stern School's MBA Program for 12 years. In this very formative episode Prof Altman goes through the details of the functionality of the Z-score, and its application in bankura. He details his experience with congress during the 2008 automotive industry bailout. Prof Altman describes the particle use of the z-score to make investments as well.

In this weeks episode we Dani Peleva joining us, She is a managing director at the local frame, which is a marketing agency based in London. Dani has more than 10 years of experience in online marketing and SEO, from managing start-up “Fantastic Services’”, to launching new services and working with clients for Local Fame. Dani is heavily experienced in building out a franchise internally and externally. Dani enlights us on the pillars of franchising. Dani also delves into her personal experience in her career and gives our audience advice on starting an organization.

On this weeks episode, joining us we have Alex Edmans professor of finance at London Business School and the current Mercers' School Memorial Professor of Business at Gresham College. Alex graduated from Oxford University and then worked for Morgan Stanley in investment banking (London) and fixed income sales and trading (New York). After a PhD in Finance from MIT Sloan, he joined Wharton in 2007 and was tenured in 2013 shortly before moving to LBS. Edmans' research is on corporate governance, executive pay, responsible business, and behavioral finance, and has been cited over 10,000 times. Professor Edmans on this episode provides a reflective insight on his own career and advise to others. He provides the inspiration and motivation for his best selling book "Grow the Pie: How Great Companies Deliver Both Purpose and Profit". Professor Edmans also provides personal expereinces from learning Spanish whilst preapring for a marathon, but also lessons learnt mistakes made along the way. Professor Edmans provides a very introspective episode reflecting on his own expereinces, but also allowing the listener to reflect on there own. 

Melekot Abate is a Private Equity Senior Associate in the health care sector at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Abate is a Princeton graduate who has worked for the likes of Google, and Mckinsey & Co. In the episode, Mr. Abate tells us about his upbringing in Yemen, and Ethiopia, and his undergraduate experience at Princeton, which led him to work at Mckinsey. Mr. Abate tells us about his personal interest in finance and how this ultimately led him to get his MBA from Harvard business school. This episode is riddled with inciting antidotes of Mr. Abate's life, and un-cryptic advice to the younger generation.

In this week's episode, we have Mr. Estevão the Global Director of the World Bank Macroeconomics, Trade, and Investment group. Mr. Estevao has worked for the Ministry of Finance in Brazil, the new development bank (Shanghai), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Tudor Investment Corporation. Estevão is Brazilian, holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT, and has published extensively in journals, books, policy reports, and the print media. In the episode, we discuss Mr. Estevãos personal interest in finance, daily routine, his role at the world bank, and a multitude of other experiences. Mr. Estevão throughout the entire episode radiates positive energy and provides insight into his own personal philosophy of life.

On this week's episode of the BLK podcast, we are joined by the CEO and CO-founder of BLK capital management. Angel is a senior at Harvard College studying Economics with a secondary in Psychology and Computer Science. He is also the Founder and CEO of Zuvy, an iOS app that allows college students to get paid for freelance work on their campus, and is an Incoming Associate Product Manager at Google. On the podcast, Angel discusses his personal experience with finance (how this transitioned to product management) and his early woes of starting BLK capital management. 

On this episode of the BLK Podcast, we are joined by Gerry O'Reilly, who is a portfolio manager at Vanguard. We have an extremely intriguing conversation on bubbles within the market, a vanguard mindset of investing, how teenagers and young adults should start investing.

Mr. O’Reilly elaborates on the functionalities of ETFs and Vanguard's role in the popularity of them. We talk about the Gamestop craze, and how that motivated a younger generation to start investing. Mr. O’Reilly gives us a very formal layout of the investing scene and how Vanguard has played a large role in it.

In this episode, Mr. Richmond talks about his affinity for learning languages  (Mr.Richmond currently speaks 5 languages), Chess, and naturally finance. Mr. Richmond shares his experience whilst working in Goldman Sachs, and his exceptional personal growth while being part of BLK. Mr. Richmond details what his daily routine consists of currently at Harvard University and some advice for aspiring individuals.
