This week, we ventured back into the world of cosmic horror and covered Richard Stanley's Color Out of Space. Grab your favorite brew and join us as we discuss our favorite short stories, the exceptional body horror in this movie, and why at least one of us loved this Lovecraft adaptation (guess who?)

After the slasher-heavy 1980's, the 90's introduced us to some of the most calculated, hyper-intelligent killers to ever grace our screens. This week, we decided to revisit David Fincher's iconic dark thriller Seven. What makes hotel rooms so naturally creepy? Greg was in a Stephen King mood this week, so we dove into the classically spooky haunted hotel movie 1408 from 2007. Ahoy, horror fans! Just in time for the upcoming 4th of July holiday, Greg chose one of his very favorite horror movies for us to cover: the 1975 creature classic Jaws. Crack open your favorite brew and join us as we discuss the impacts (both positive and negative) the film and novel has had on sharks, how brutal this movie actually is, and the uncanny relevance it still has today. 

About 20 years after seeing this movie when she was way too young, Alicia decided to re-visit the classic, gory, gothic tale that is Clive Barker's Hellraiser. After narrowly avoiding opening a portal to hell with a Hellraiser-themed trivia game, we discuss this movie's incredible gore and originality, and mourn what this film could have been but wasn't because of censorship. How quickly would humans revert back to being rage-fueled animals in an apocalyptic scenario? And what is it about zombie movies that keeps us (well, Alicia at least) coming back for more? This week, Greg decided to go with a tried and true classic; the 1954 Alfred Hitchcock thriller Rear Window. After swapping some of our favorite weird neighbor stories, we discuss the plight of women in the 50's, an incredible set design, and a truly thrilling and suspenseful ending.  A spooky mansion, hidden rooms, a sad protagonist, and a great score; Alicia's latest movie choice has all of the ingredients needed for a classic ghost story! This week, we covered the 1980 classic The Changeling. Curl up with your favorite brew and settle in as we talk about some of our favorite haunted house stories, a remarkably likable protagonist, and an exceptionally powerful ghost. 

Are the people who began this recording the same people who finished it? We aren't so sure. Greg's movie pick this week took us deep into the heart of The Shimmer as we journeyed deep into the visually stunning, Lovecraftian sci-fi horror Annihilation.
