We sit down with Laney Sweet - the wife who bears the pain of a tragic tale.   Her husband, Daniel Shaver, was shot dead in a motel by a Mesa, Arizona police officer on January 18, 2016 - leaving behind 2 beautiful daughters and an adoring wife.  The officer, acquitted of all charges, retired with a pension. But the story has only begun. Laney is now going public with the details of the case. This story, born of immense pain, must be told in full for the public to hear.

The crew pops some bottles and tackles another fascinating concept --- Thomas Woods is a monstrous voice in the liberty space. We laugh it up as we cover his fantastic work "Nullification:  How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century".

His social justice work began with gun violence prevention protesting after the Sandy Hook massacre. It included work with the Brady campaign and Gays Against Guns. A problem solver by nature, Dwight recognized that nothing was being achieved at the federal level to stem gun violence and, in particular, the US Senate was the stumbling block. This led him to conceptualize the New State Formation and Amalgamation Process which lies at the heart of the Hack the Senate movement, learn more about the process at hackthesenate.org

The role of police is further explored as well.  Are government schools just a preparation for obedience of the state in adulthood?

We break into a new frontier with the inauguration of our Washington D.C. chapter of Blue Star Union. Friends, family, and colleagues joined together at the Old Angler's Inn in Potomac, MD to launch our civic discussions in the shadow of the Capitol.

The Union makes friends in the field, even if it's sometimes haphazardly. We met a great mind, Mitch, who stopped by the bunker to share his thoughts on the conflation of morality and police. A carefully crafted phrase spoken out loud at a political rally led to a violent reaction from Trump supporters, but also led to a new friendship and member of our Union.

The party started quietly, and ended in a raucous crescendo as the drinks continued to be poured. Members of the Union chime in to debate public schools, drug laws, guns, and in the most controversial form, abortion.

Three home-town friends react to current events and get into some debate on the efficacy of activism

We throw our first LIVE podcast party at Ristorante Maietta in Englishtown, NJ. Several old and new friends gather over food and drinks to yap on the microphones.

This summer, the boardwalks of the Jersey Shore were a breeding ground for new friendships. Two new members Steve and Carlito join Shaun and Daniel for a recap of the police interaction in Seaside Heights, in addition to touching an array of other topics.

David breaks down his experiences at multiple New Jersey public schools, from the inner-city to the suburbs. They highlight the many ways that unions and public schools inherently conspire to work against the best interests of your children.

Daniel and David are back to deconstruct the recent investigation by the Attorney General of New York into alleged activities within the National Rifle Association. They present a surprising viewpoint to many on the pro-gun side of the political aisle, while shedding light into the greater non-profit world at-large.

We discuss the announcement of Kamala Harris as the Democrats' VP pick and what perceptions will pervade the rest of the campaign.

This one goes the distance. Blue Star Union brings together a majority of the board when David stops by with his good friend and former student Ken. The guys meander through the real purpose, power, and intention of public schools. They leap-frog through history with observations on the human condition.

This one gets LOUD. Jessica and Kat come down for a talk about abortion, sandwiched between lots of high-volume side conversations with the boys in the peanut gallery. This is a good one.

Union members make friends of other friends, and that's how we met Carlos. Carlos drops by the bunker to discuss growing up in Portuguese culture and the dynamics of the barber shop industry as he heads into a new business venture. Some soccer talk is thrown in for good measure.

Two new friends that we met on the boardwalk drop in the bunker to talk about their thoughts on a bevy of current events. This is what the Union is all about.
