Where is Congress in their negotiations on the new Stimulus Package for December.

Update: Dec 16. Congress is talking about including direct stimulus payments in exchange for state aid. Direct stimulus payments will only be half of what the previous payment was- $600. For the "they need to get something done crowd", is this enough?

There is a problem in the Senate. Republicans and Democrats take issue with how bills are brought to the floor. Bills are often done in secret with little input from the rest of the Senate. Only one person decides which bills will come to the floor of the Senate- Mitch McConnell.

McConnell has refused to bring the HEROES Act to the floor. He balked at the President's 1.8 trillions dollar package. He refuses to acknowledge his Democratic colleagues, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. He refuses to bring the new bipartisan 908 billion dollar framework to the floor for a vote. 

McConnell is taking this time to stack the courts with conservative judges. District Courts and Appeals Courts decisions have long lasting effects. They also decide who serves on lower federal courts. In this episode we look at qualified immunity being upheld by district courts for the most insidious cases.

Treasury Secretary Mnuchin talks to congress about lending programs and stimulus. It was mostly Republicans and Democrats sniping each other. Congress finally came up with a bipartisan Covid stimulus framework. However, Mitch McConnell doesn't like it, there is no direct stimulus payment and it's too far away from the HEROES Act proposed by Democrats. Also a summary of the HEROES Act and why it's a better stimulus package.
