If you like eating raw human meat, moths, and unnecessary love stories then you should probably listen to this episode. WARNING: This book discusses physical abuse and crimes against humanity. Louis's story is literally insane and the fact that not one but two people survived what he went through is mind blowing. Listen to hear about just how much the human body can endure and how proactive sharks can be when trying to eat someone. 

Since it is almost is birthday, we are talking about the author, sex spy, and problematic man himself: Roald Dahl. If you want to hear about awful boarding schools, plane crashes, James Bond, 11 year affairs, and possibly the worst timing of talking about Queen Elizabeth II being immortal then this is the episode for you.

Not only did she kill it on the bestsellers list with every book she ever published, she also wore matching outfits with her toy poodle, Josephine. Listen to here about a true #bossbabe who revolutionized the way books were marketed, hated all movie adaptations made of her work, and was the host of her own television show where she helped people find jobs, like any boss bitch would. 

Today we are talking about Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia and this book deserves all the awards that it has won. If you want a creepy book that gives off both Get Out and The Yellow Wallpaper vibez then you NEED to read this. Seriously, mushrooms have never been scarier you will not be able to put this one down, 10/10 would recommend

Today we are talking about the best movie to feature the Manson family and probably the best bromance ever on film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Ignore all of Tarantino's foot fetish stuff and watch a much better ending to that August night in 1969. Also sorry this episode has an echo, we're trying some stuff. 

This book may or may not be Anne Bird cashing in on a tragedy but she does offer some wild insight into who Scott Peterson really was. Listen to learn about the best childhood ever, Disneyland vacations, and flower arrangements. Most importantly, listen to hear about Laci Peterson and how much the world lost by one selfish and horrific act by a pathetic man.

In the second half of Green River, Running Red by Anne Bird they finally arrest Gary Ridgeway and are able to give 48 of the victims families some closure when he is sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. Ravens and the devil, it's a classic Book Cult story time. Sydney tells the story of the Devil's Mansion from the book 'Spooky South by S.E. Schlosser and Delaney reads another Grimm's fairytale (those german brothers were in love with Ravens).

Today we are going down the short but interesting rabbit hole that is the wikipedia page on Latvian literature. I apologize for the way everything is pronounced in this episode, it is an embarrassment to my ancestors I'm sure. If you know of any good english translations of books written by Latvian's please let us know!

Nothing like an SNL cast member in a movie based on a Jane Austen Novel talking about his favorite SNL sketches. We are talking about the movie Fire Island and it is the gay Pride & Prejudice adaptation we all needed. Listen to hear all about  a group of friends on vacation in Fire Island, finding love, stealing boats and wearing the most iconic underwear I've ever seen. Bowen Yang as Jane and Joel Kim Booster as Lizzie is truly the perfect cast.
