Cheers! To Interracial Families and A True Love Story: The Mother's Day Edition

Cheers! To Interracial Families and A True Love Story: The Mother's Day Edition

Whew! The season finale! We made it friends! This is a very special episode as I sit down with my mom, and both her sisters. We talk about what it was like growing up in an interracial family in the 60's and how their childhood has shaped who they are today. I learn about their teenage years and their experience attending PWI high schools and Ivy League schools for college. My favorite parts of this episode include hearing the story of my grandma, Jeanne, and her love, my grandpa, Art.

This episode is dedicated to all the Moms, Aunties, Grandmas and Women who taught us to be kind, strong and live life on our own terms.

Cheers & Happy Mother's Day ❤️

Bottoms Up: the Podcast will be back with new episodes very soon - thanks for coming along this journey with us... Season 2 coming soon!

Cheers! To Singlehood

Cheers! To Singlehood

HELLO SAG SEASON ♐️!

Whew we made it 🥵

Who said a Sagittarius is never single? 👀 in honor of my boo-less and boo-adjacent friends, one of my best friends, Camilla, breaks down why singlehood is essential to our selfhood. This is an episode my younger self really needed to hear. Cameos from Thee Tracee Ellis Ross, Kris Jenner and Khloè Kardashian are of course essential to the structure of this episode. Big thanks to Crick for giving me some tough love I wish I heard earlier. The best birthday episode ever! We hope you’ll tune in! Cheers

Cheers! To Astrology

Cheers! To Astrology

Although it may seem so, this episode is NOT a long subtweet about our exes. Possibly our most star-studded episode yet, my friends Abi and Dilan (a @Capricorn ♑️ and a @Leo ♌️)come onto the podcast to talk about ASTROLOGY! We've got all the explanations on what your moon sign means, what your Venus and Mars tell you (hint: sexy time traits 💦 ) and even why your Capricorn special friend might be acting weird... 👀. This episode is best paired with a glass of red and your BIRTH CHART at the ready! CAUTION to my @Capricorn ♑️ and @Virgo ♍️ listeners because there is some slander in this episode, but I hope that doesn't deter you from listening. Don’t shoot the messenger... it’s in the 🌟stars🌟Tune in for some stories and to hear our debates about who is the most stubborn, @Taurus ♉️, which sign is the most problematic, and who is most likely to show up late to a party (and why its always @Gemini ♊️). Last but not least, to my fellow @Sagittariuses♐️ we also endure our fair share of roasting... I guess some people don't think we are as loyal as we say we are 👀... do we need to have a group meeting? Listen with your friends and laugh along with us as we really get into ~The Signs~ And FYI- did you hear we got featured on Anchor - so exciting -- check it out!

Cheers! To Playing Predominantly white Sports as a Black Man in America

Cheers! To Playing Predominantly white Sports as a Black Man in America

When you think of the whitest sports in America,  golf and hockey are definitely up there, but lacrosse might take the cake. Tune in as I talk to two of my former high school peers and talented lacrosse players, Mark and Angelo. They both tell their stories about loving lacrosse, despite being the only Black person on the team and sometimes in their league. We honor the work of Tiger Woods, Serena Williams and Colin Kaepernick amongst the many other trailblazers who have decided that their voice is just as important as their talent. Cheers to these handsome and inspiring young men — I cannot wait to share this powerful episode with you! ♥🎧

Cheers! To Hobbies

Cheers! To Hobbies

When 3 millennials and a boomer get together we can’t really analyze the fabulous character development of Samantha Jones, from SATC🍸. Especially when the boomer is your Dad. So instead, we decided to talk about hobbies. Katherine, Annie, my Dad, and I got together to talk about our passions and how they’ve shifted over time. This was an important episode to create, especially now that we’re all home during this crazy time. Without further ado, here’s “Cheers! To Hobbies”. Tune in for another great one 🎧 🥳 — have you left us a review on Apple pods yet? Please take a moment to help more people discover this little pod of mine 🤍⭐️👀

Cheers! To Healthy Relationships with Social Media and Celebrating Our Authenticity

With 30.1K followers on Instagram, Mimi (@mimis_meals) knows a thing or two about the ups and downs of social media. In this day-in-age, IG can help amplify your voice 10-fold, but in the same vein, it can be the source of anxiety, FOMO and stress. This week on Bottoms Up, Mimi and I will chat about the good the bad and the ugly parts of social media. Tune in to hear about how we both credit these platforms with helping us find our identity and exposing us to new voices and important information that have shaped who we are today. We will also discuss the @blackat movements as well as the BS standards of beauty that we are throwing in the TRASH. If anything, tune in to hear Jane Lynch and Carole Burnett sing a little snippet of "OHIO" from Glee (we love another Glee reference). Cheers everybody, thanks for listening!
