Hello, friends! We got a nice, light topic this weekend. As David Tennant cracks jokes for the BBC about the genocide going on in Brazil due to the mismanagement of the pandemic, a joke that would never have happened about the United States, it becomes obvious that updating our audience with actual data is definitely of the highest order.

We talk current numbers, vaccination obstacles, the 4th health minister, the Parliamentary Commission for Inquiry, and the day when Brazil vaccinated 18 million children in one go against polio.

Hi, friends! So, for this week, Larissa and Gareth decided to torture themselves by watching the Netflix docu-series (ugh) 'Killer Ratings'. We did it out of love, so now you don't have to!

The series is a poor attempt to document the (alleged) crimes of Wallace Souza and his ring, killing drug dealers so they could then drug deal and using the images of the killings to bump up Souza's crime-fighting TV show. It was definitely a bad effort in displaying the worst of Brazil. So, thanks, guys.

For this episode we dive into to the Free Brazil Movement, or MBL, an extreme right-wing organisation that is linked to other organisations that are funded by the Koch brothers. Well, Koch brother now. Rising out of nowhere in late 2013, the MBL was a major player in gathering popular support for the coup against President Dilma Rousseff and it's still a major player in the distribution of fake news in Brazil.

We also talked about the proper disposal of wipes. In the bin, people!

Hi, friends! Another week that feels like a year, but here we are, still with you.

This week we bring you some fresh, warm nuts, which is saying  something, since we're talking about senator Chico Rodrigues (DEM-RR)  and the unusual place he chose to hide his allegedly illegal money.

Since the recording of this episode, Rodrigues's lawyers have sent  out a release saying the money was to pay the staff in his family's  company. To which we say, we need stricter labour laws. Also, Rodrigues  has taken a leave of absence, meaning his son has INDEED taken his  Senate seat. Coolio.

Next week we'll be doing a special HALLOWEEN MOVIE NUTS episode, with  the film GOOD MANNERS (2017), by Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra. We will NOT discuss the film  AT MIDNIGHT I'LL TAKE YOUR SOUL (1964), by Zé do Caixão as mentioned in the episode. Apologies for our mistake and the confusion.

Hello, sports fans! This week we decided to stick with the military dictatorship and talk about Brazil’s victorious 1970 World Cup campaign and why it was actually a huge political win for dictator-in-chief, Emílio Garrastazu Médici. So listen up for some pretty creepy, nationalistic music and slogans, ramifications during the 70s (and ones that last until today), Pelé’s role in all of it, and how Marta is the world’s most awesome football player (don’t @ us about this).

Traditional corn flour cake

• 2 cups of corn flour 
• ½ cup of oil
• 1 cup of sugar 
• 1 cup of milk
• 3 eggs
• 1 tablespoon of baking powder
• a pinch of salt
• 200 grams of grated cheese

Mix eggs, oil, sugar, milk, and salt. When it's uniform, add corn flour, baking powder, and cheese. 

Put batter in a greased and floured tin and bake in pre-heated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from tin after it cools!

It’s a tale filled with trials and tribulations, revenge and missed connections, and at last, a happy ending. The fact that this revolves around a statue of the Angel of Darkness is neither here nor there.
