In my last interview highlighting Authors, I end with a phenomenal guest, April Sabral, the CEO of RetailU and author of "The Positive Effect".  

April started her career as a part-time sales associate, having moved out of her home at 16. She worked her way through the ranks with over 30 years in the retail industry. Working for brands such as; Starbucks, Gap, Apple, Holt Renfrew, Paul Smith, culminating as a Vice President of a national retail chain in North America of 250 stores. She took that knowledge and created one of the most cutting edge training platforms for retail teams in the Retail U platform.

Brett not only shares my name, but also my passion for telling transparent and unfiltered stories so that people can actually feel heard and know what really goes on in difficult situations.  Her struggle and ultimate triumph with IVF is motivating and real, and her episode is both funny and heartwarming.

Kerry Alison Wekelo is Award-Winning Author, Chief Operating Officer at Actualize Consulting, Founder of Zendoway, and Creator of Zendoway Cubes.  She released her best selling book "Culture Infusion" which highlights 9 Principles to Create and Maintain a Thriving Organizational Culture.   

What I love about Kerry's personal story is how she started writing with a kids book prior to her corporate books and combines business and wellness in such an inspiring way.  This episode will motivate you to make moves at your organization, guaranteed!

Sales, debates, role plays, teaching, writing...Dr. Boyer definitely brings the heat in the episode!  She is an incredible professor with an even more amazing back story.  We get into her book, her AI bot created college sales training debates, and the ways in which you can push through to finally write that book you've always wanted to.

This episode is all about the CEO of the Seena Magowitz Foundation, a non-profit that has raised over $12 million dollars for pancreatic cancer research and clinical trials.  Roger Magowitz was a very successful entrepreneur, ultimately selling his business for a huge sum of money, but for Roger that didn't matter.  He lost his mother to pancreatic cancer and he decided to dedicate his life to finding a cure.  This episode was powerful and will motivate you to never lose hope and count each day as the blessing it is!

We talk teenage nuclear disarmament think tanks (what were you doing in high school!) and pursuing ones dreams...this episode truly has it all!

Mark Kinsley is a CEO, and a Podcast Host, a successful one at that, so it was fun to be able to turn the tables and ask him some questions for once! What I loved about this episode is that although we highlighted giving back and why he dedicated 5 years of his life to give away free content to his competitors, the take away for me was how he overcame his crippling anxiety and depression. Just Stories is truly that, and while Mark talks about elephant dumps in one story he also pulls the curtain back to give us some amazing truths behind the struggles of many successful people have and how he overcame them! I was truly motivated after this episode and I know you will be too!

In this first episode of Just Stories, there is NO ONE on earth I would rather talk to about giving back and how that intertwines with business than Dale Carlsen.  His story is absolutely amazing, he went from investing everything he owned into one little sleep store, to building an empire and selling it for 9 figures.  But his legacy has nothing to do with money.  Dale is the most caring, selfless person I know who's charity "Ticket To Dream" has helped so many foster kids around the US it is remarkable.  Listen to this episode to be inspired, learn and get motivated to get involved in giving back!
