Ve Shawn Owens talks about his bizarre boxing match in Mexico
In this episode, highly ranked Minnesota boxer Ve Shawn Owens (14-4, 12 KOs) discusses his strange experience on a Dec. 2, 2023, boxing card in Mexico. In the 8th round, the referee stopped the “fight” after Owens was hit on the back of the head, giving his opponent the “win.” Roughly six weeks later, boxrec.com posted the fight as a TKO loss for Owens — a highly questionable blemish on the Minnesota boxer’s record. Owens hasn’t said much publicly about the bizarre events of Dec. 3 — until now. In addition, Owens breaks the news about his relocation plans, and talks about his recent eye surgery. Hear all about it in this wide-ranging interview, which kicks off the 5th season of the Minnesota Fight Night podcast.
