Not quite my usual type of content... I hereby present my open letters to the current, and the most recently departed, leaders of the nation.  (You have been warned!)  I wish everyone a happy, prosperous and above all else HEALTHY new year, and look forward to "speaking" with you biweekly throughout 2021.

The first update should've been simple... but noooo, I had to get fancy. I think I got my laptop angry because after that it began to steadily fail, one component at a time -- so I had to buy a new one and figure out all the reinstalls, updates, changes, and other fun stuff that I'd already had to do during the update of the old laptop. Fun ensued... NOT.  Hear all the gory details (and the reason why this podcast has been on hiatus) here...!

What happens when a bank decides to push its way into the 21st century by eliminating as much human-to-human interaction as it can?  It gets your host pretty doggone annoyed, as you'll hear in this podcast...!

Something broke? Oh, no!  Not to worry -- the repairs are covered by that Customer Service Contract you pay regular fees for... aren't they?  Well, no matter, it's certainly more convenient to call the company and... get whom...?

I  had some good "B Roll" material left over from my episode about our protagonist's dueli- er, dealings with a freelancing website, and I thought y'all would enjoy some good examples of How Not To Do It... So here they are!

With all the virtual classes that are now a daily occurrence, it might be a good idea to look at how the courses -- or at least the quizzes & tests for those courses -- are structured and why they might need a little more TLC.  There's also a bonus follow-up to a previous episode at the end!

We can all use a little extra cash, and our Protagonist this time 'round is no exception. It's so easy to set up an online shop and rake in those Internet shopping bucks... or is it...?

Just when you thought your pharmacy had it all figured out, they go and add several chapters to the story...!

Imagine a large company that makes a name for itself in communications. Now imagine that company providing you with telephone service (both landline and cellular).  Now imagine that company claiming it's not the phone company... Yeah, you heard that right...

We pick up our story from last week with our protagonist dealing with a whole new set of interesting situations as his assignment draws to a close... and then he makes some interesting discoveries back home!

In light of the current world situation that has so many people trapped in some form of quarantine and looking for something (anything!) to help pass the time, this episode is just a story instead of my usual "what could have been done differently" format.  Give it a listen and find out just how much can not go according to plan when our protagonist is named Team Leader for a "fake" contract bid by his employer...  Enjoy!  (This is a standalone episode, but the conclusion of the full story will be posted next week.)

A year may be officially defined as 365.25 days long... but in some companies it can be a lot longer!  Here's what happened in one such case...

Freelancing ain't for wimps... and in this story, our protagonist learns that even when you've successfully dug your way through all the "stuff" you encounter and place a winning bid you may actually have lost.

Let's say you have a particular need, and you find an affordable product that fulfills that need perfectly. Great, right? Well... what happens if one teeny-tiny little IMPORTANT detail isn't communicated clearly before you buy that product?  Tune in to find out!

It's easy to forget how much we rely on WiFi for Internet connectivity in our homes... but what happens when that all-important WiFi modem suddenly kicks the digital bucket?  As the protagonist of this story learns to his annoyance, a simple restoration of service isn't necessary simple... but (thankfully) there are a few things that various players in the story can do (or at least keep in mind) to make things better for all involved.
