EPISODE 179: The History of the History of Ripperology with The Legend, Mr. Paul Begg + Special Guest Co-Host Jeremy King

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 45:05

The study of Jack the Ripper and the WhiteChapel murders, known as Ripperology, is a phenomenon in this era of true crime, but has been a global obsession for many decades, and one of the few things most "Ripperologist" will agree on, is Paul Begg is one of the most important names in the field. From his groundbreaking research, and legendary books such as Jack The Ripper : The (Uncensored) Facts, Jack The Ripper The Definitive History, The Scotland Yard Files, and of course Jack The Ripper A to Z (With Keith Skinner and Martin Fido).

Paul Begg is not only a researcher, writer and historian, but also my personal hero, and the man who made me want to be a writer and historian. It is indeed my unbelievable honor to be able to now call my hero my friend! and you are about to hear two friends having a chat, I hope you enjoy!

And as an added bonus!!!!! Our favorite Movie Star, Rad Chad himself of Scare Package I and II fame, the outstanding Jeremy King fills in for a vacationing Lauren and joins me as a special co-host!!!

EPISODE 177: Clowning: The History of The Worlds Other Oldest Profession With World Renowned Clown and Clown Historian Dott Cotton

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT : 31:00

Oh Folks.. I am so excited for this show!! What is the history of the art of clowning, and how has it evolved over the years, and why is it different in America, The UK and the rest of the world

The clown can be dated as far back as 2400 BC and has served many roles in different cultures and civilizations, yet, to many, clowns are just silly circus performers, or pantomimist or something to scare the poop out of people with (thank you horror films). But the truth is, clowns serve a far more important role in history.

The amazing Dott Cotton joins us to discuss clowning thru history, and her career as a modern clown. She is a truly gifted performer who, in my opinion perfectly bridges the gap between vintage traditional English music hall clowning and modern entertainment. It is indeed a pleasure and a thrill to welcome her to the show.

Terrence "Terry" Funk had a wrestling career that lasted more than 50 years. He was one of the most respected men in the business, a headliner in every territory of the United States, and in Japan he was a superstar, an icon, and one of the most beloved pop culture icons.

He was even a movie star, appearing in films such as Paradise Alley, Over The Top, The Ringer and most notably the cult classic Road House.

But more than anything he was a proud father, many times he me would tell how proud he was of his daughters, and how much family meant to him.

The friendship I developed with Terry of the last several years of his life mean more to me than a few words here could ever express,

Please welcome Rodney West and Terry Sullivan to the show, two men who have been around the world of wrestling their whole lives. The three of us talk about Terry, his work, his status in the business, what he meant to the world of wrestling, and what he meant to us on a more personal level. EPISODE 140: When Wrestling WAS WRESTLING: the 1970's With Terry Sullivan, Nikita Breznikov and Rodney West, PART 1

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT:  29:15

In the 1980's a pop culture explosion occurred in Professional Wrestling, it was everywhere, on TV's, in arenas, on toy shelves, on movie screens you name it...but where did this mass popularity come from, why did it explode? Because blueprints were put in place for just such a boom, and soon the wrestling business would change forever (for the better?) In the 1970's territories across the United States were developing wrestling into something more than a minor attraction, with a niche following, they made it personal, local shows made local heroes, and made the viewers believe. Each place was different, from presentation to actual wrestling styles, but soon, regional wrestling would go nation wide.

We are thrilled to be joined by the great Terry Sullivan, who was the ring announcer and broadcaster for Big Time Wrestling in Detroit, Nikita Breznikov, a life long fan and historian of the classic WWWF (today's WWE) who eventually made his way into the busniess as manager of the legendary Nikoli Volkov, and rounding out this panel is a Rodney West, a second generation wrestling figure, son of the late great referee/booker/promoter/wrestling guru Ron West, Rodney along with his brother Brent grew up in and around the Georgia Wrestling scene and were drawn to the business likes moths to a flame.

We share stories, memories and breakdown the business we all love from a bygone era,  We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording!

EPISODE 137: Holy Batmania 1966-1968 (Part !) with Darrin FizzFop1 McDonald and Nikita Breznikov

INTERVIEW BEGINS AT: 23:00

POW ZAP BIFF

In 1966 Lorenzo Semple Jr. and William Dozier gambled on bringing a comic book hero to America's living rooms, not once, but TWICE a week, and soon BATMANIA took over the world.

over the next 3 years and 120 episodes we were introduced to what "pop culture" is really all about.  Kids fell in love with the action and adventure, adults loved the campy and off beat humor, and grown men in particular LOVED the costumes (especially of amazonesque Julie Newmar as Catwoman and Yvonne Craigs Batgirl)

Today, over 55 years later Batman is still king, not only in it's countless films and animated shows, but the one and only real Batman (in my opnion) Adam West still lives on across streaming platforms and DVD/Blu ray alike, and every generation falls in love with the Caped Crusader and his faithfull sidekick Robin

Today, we are pleased to be joined by Darrin (FizzFop1) McDonald, a comic book historian and youtube star and the Actor, Wrestling Manager/historian and Bat Superfan  Nikita Breznikov  to take a headfirst deep nerd dive into the iconic 1966-1968 Batman TV Show...... So, to the batcave....

Dave Thomas, writer, director, actor, producer, legend!! From SCTV to Hollywood, the Grammys, The Emmys not to mention Juno awards. Dave Thomas has spent the better part of 6 decades bringing joy and laughter to generations of comedy fans, from classic characters like Doug McKenzie, and his uncanny Bob Hope impression (which led to a wonderful relationship with the real Bob Hope) to being in classic films like Stripes, Strange Brew  and Rat Race, and that just scratches the surface of his incredible career.

Today we discuss everything from his childhood, his pre showbiz remarkable career , his friends, and even how a "couple of hosers" got to direct one of the greatest actors of all time,  Max Von Sydow( and what happens when you are caught doing an impression of him!)
