Evil Dead Rise
Now viewing the highly anticipated new release, Evil Dead Rise. Even though I managed to see the movie without being exposed to the trailer, I was hyped for this film. Coming off the 2013 remake, which is a top 3 remake of all time in my opinion, Evil Dead Rise had my ticket as soon as they announced the film. Unfortunately, the movie fell short of what I was expecting. The change in setting from a cabin in the middle of the woods to an apartment building in a city was an element that I was not fond of. Although not a bad movie, it lacked something that I can't quite put my finger on. If you're a fan of blood, there are a couple of scenes that might really excite you. It is reported that Evil Dead Rise used a little more than 1,700 gallons of blood while the 2013 remake used 70,000 gallons. To me that is fitting because just like the blood, Evil Dead Rise fails in comparison to the remake.
