16. TEACHER PEP TALK: “Quiet Quitting” For When You are Struggling with Setting Authentic Boundaries
EPISODE 16. In this episode, we are diving into the concept of "quiet quitting" which is trending on social media right now - and if you immediately heard this and thought of teachers whispering to their administrators that they can't do this any more and throwing a deuce while squealing tires out of the faculty parking lot, then let me share with you that despite the name, that is not at all what it is. We are chatting about what quiet quitting REALLY is, setting boundaries, my recent experience, and bringing you that pep talk you need to feel more empowered setting authentic boundaries as an educator.
These pep talk episodes are meant to be a way to show you that you are not alone in this and bring you that motivation, validation, and pick me up you need in the morning before work or on the way home from a tough day. I started this pep talk series in August to help pep teachers up, so if you haven't checked this style out - totally recommend! Let me know what you think by sending me a DM, email, or leaving a review so that you can be featured in the Teacher Community Spotlight at the beginning of our episodes!

15. Teacher Burnout to Boundaries with Guest Spencer Cotter
EPISODE 15. In this episode, I am talking about one of my favorite ways that teachers can sustain their energy, set limits in their career, and feel more empowered & beat burnout - BOUNDARIES! I brought my friend, Spencer Cotter, on the show to talk about her journey with teacher burnout, how she transformed her burnout, and her must have boundaries for teachers, weekends, and social media.
Spencer Cotter is a former teacher who went from burnout to living on her own terms and currently mentors teachers helping them do the same. She helps teachers empower themselves and believes that with high level personal development skills such as building boundaries, mastering your mindset and elevating your energy, you can live the life you want and deserve despite the challenges you face.

13. 3 Powerful Tips for Completing the Beginning of the School Year Stress Cycle
EPISODE 13: I made a Tiktok recently that had over 1200 educators feeling like I was speaking to their souls. It was all about how our brains can create patterns from situations we’ve been in previously. The example I gave was the stress response that we have when entering our buildings at the beginning of school after we left in the stress cycle before summer break. Our brains don’t know the difference.
This is why I think it is so powerful to understand the stress cycle and the five distinct phases of the stress cycle. So in this episode, I'm teaching you a little bit of neuroscience but then giving you 3 powerful tips for completing the beginning of the school year stress cycle so you are actively preventing and recovering from teacher burnout.

8. How to Gain Better Work-Life Balance this School Year
EPISODE 8 Are you struggling with getting a grip on your duties as a professional and still living a life outside of work? Work-life balance for educators is one of the most difficult tasks to accomplish because we feel like we have to give more, be more, and do it all - "for the kids." The fact is that the majority of educators lack work-life balance which impacts their stress levels, their families, and eventually leads to burnout. Lacking this important balance is not going to support our well-being. Being in burnout is not going to help the kids.
That's why in this episode, I am giving you three practical tips so you can gain better work-life balance and beat burnout this school year.

7. How to Battle Student Behavior and Beat Teacher Burnout this Coming School Year with Gina Peluso and Rachel Nye of Behavior By Design
EPISODE 7 We know from research that teacher burnout can very well set the stage and cause a ripple effect which can impact student behavior, academics, etc. However, if you are an educator, you know that difficult student behavior can also lead to teacher burnout. So which came first? The chicken (burnout) or the egg (behavior)? And how can we prevent behavior issues from impacting our burnout? Even as a veteran teacher, you may be nervous about the coming school year because of the uncharacteristic influx of disruptive and out of hand behaviors occurring in your classroom.
Today, we are welcoming a duo that are behavior experts bringing some tips that you can use as you return back to school this fall to help reduce burnout from student behavior. They share with us how we can regulate our nervous system and emotions so behaviors are not as detrimental, strategies to keep behaviors at bay, and so much more. In this episode, I interview Gina Peluso and Rachel Nye from Behavior By Design.
Gina is a kindergarten teacher and classroom/behavior management coach for teachers. With over a decade of experience in the classroom, she knows first-hand what it's like to struggle to teach because you're constantly managing behaviors. Rachel is a special education teacher and certified trauma professional passionate about helping teachers shape student behavior through a trauma informed lens. Gina and Rachel met on instagram and instantly realized their philosophies about behavior management were aligned. They realized they could have a bigger impact on teachers by working together. Their mission is to empower teachers to change student behavior in positive ways by equipping them with easy-to-implement behavior supports and have fun while they're at it!

6. The Game Changing Method of Healing Burnout with Inner Work with Ce'arra Richards
EPISODE 6 Are you still struggling to get a hang of this burnout recovery thing? Some people can implement some strategies and feel a little better, but often times one very important thing is missing.
Inner work. Before you can bring your best self into your classroom, you need to ensure that you are regularly monitoring yourself for signs of destructive behavior that end up cycling in burnout. This is the last episode in the Summer Self-Care for Burnout Recovery Series and the perfect end to this specific series because without this, none of the rest will really matter.
When it comes to recovering from burnout, there are lots of different methods for inner work and there are many reasons why it is important. We are covering all of that and more in today's episode and I brought on Ce'arra Richards to join in on the conversation.
Ce’arra Richards is a First Grade Teacher who believes that teachers can Trojan Horse the archaic and failing education system from the inside out by taking rebellious and radical personal responsibility; using inner work to heal. Ce’arra believes that inner child work heals the teacher; therefore impacting the humanization of self and students. Ce’arra has spent eight years teaching first grade at a rural, Title 1, public school; as well as seven years combined as a paraprofessional educator, school secretary, and district grants manager/writer. Although Ce’arra experienced considerable adversity throughout her childhood, through extreme dedication and discipline, Ce’arra put herself through college to reach her dream of becoming a teacher. Ce’arra has also worked extensively to heal her trauma, including her inner child and is currently sharing with teachers how this healing directly affects teaching, reignites passion, prevents burnout, and will reform the failing education system from the inside out.
