An acclaimed vocal performer and coach, Natalie Weiss has achieved major success on and off the stage. Her performance videos mixed with her “edutainment” series, Breaking Down The Riffs®, made her a viral sensation, with 30 million views on YouTube alone. Her groundbreaking and fun approach to pop technique has become a growing standard in the music industry.

Natalie is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after celebrity vocal coaches and collaborators. She has sung with everyone from Broadway greats to iconic TV and media personalities including Tori Kelly, Ben Platt, Katharine McPhee, Pentatonix, Gaten Matarazzo, Shoshana Bean and Cheyenne Jackson, just to name a few.

Natalie’s voice can be heard on The Greatest Showman soundtrack, Dear Evan Hansen cast recording, The Incredibles 2 jingles, and multiple musical theatre composers’ albums. She has performed on Broadway in Everyday Rapture, Off-Broadway in Emojiland, in national tours of Wicked & Les Miserables, and regional productions of Ghost and Chess.

She was an American Idol season 4 semi-finalist and has performed the National Anthem at Cowboys & Shea Stadium. Natalie holds a BFA in musical theatre from Penn State University.

Desmond Newson is a dynamic Broadway performer who has been nominated for an L.A. Ovation Award as well as the recipient of an NAACP Theatre Award. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida Conservatory, where he obtained his B.F.A. Degree in Theatre, with a minor in Business. Desmond has been seen in the 1st National Tour of Hamilton, Motown: The Musical on Broadway, and The 35th Anniversary of Dreamgirls, with the original Dreamgirls: Sheryl Lee Ralph, Loretta Devine, and Tony Award Winner, Jennifer Holliday. Internationally, he has been blessed to perform as Simba in The Lion King for Hong Kong Disney, as well as The South Korean Tour of FAME: The Musical. Beyond the stage, Desmond is an exceptional storyteller and playwright. He is using his words in the hopes of creating a more authentic, Black narrative, that will be showcased worldwide. As a Youth Arts Instructor, his goal is to mentor and empower the next generation to be unapologetic about who they are, on and off the stage.

The New York Times recently said, "Nowadays, probably no other performer could infuse (that song) with the manic mischief that Jason Graae, a frisky clown with a real tenor, pumped into it..."

Jason Graae has starred on Broadway in "A Grand Night For Singing", "Falsettos", "Stardust", "Snoopy!", "Do Black Patent Leather Shows Really Reflect Up?". Off- Broadway shows include "Forever Plaid", "Olympus on My Mind", "All in the Timing", "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh" (Drama Desk Nomination- Best Actor in a Musical) and many more. Jason is currently playing the Wonderful Wizard of Oz across America in the National Tour of "Wicked."

Jason made his Metropolitan Opera House debut as the male vocalist in Twyla Tharp's "Everlast" with American Ballet Theatre.  Jason has performed his one man show all over the country from Rainbow and Stars and Birdland in NYC to Feinstein's and the Plush Room in L.A. and San Francisco, winning 4 Bistro Awards and a N.Y Nightlife Award, also making TimeOut NY's Top Cabaret shows of the year. His critically acclaimed show with Faith Prince, "The Prince and the Showboy" played at 54 Below and the pair won a 2nd Nightlife Award for Best Duo.

In Los Angeles, Jason won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award - the Joel Hirschorn Award for Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theatre. Jason originated the role of "Houdini" in the L.A. production of "Ragtime" at the Shubert Theatre and won an Ovation Award for "Forbidden Broadway Y2KLA!". At the Hollywood Bowl, he played Benny Southstreet in "Guys and Dolls'" and Marcellus in "The Music Man". With the 42nd Street Moon Theatre Co. in San Francisco, he played the 7 Sid Caesar roles in "Little Me" and most recently played Scrooge in the world premiere of "Scrooge in Love", winning the Theatre Bay Area Award for Best Actor in a Musical.

On television, Jason has appeared on many shows including "Six Feet Under", "Rude Awakening", "Friends", "Frasier", "Sabrina the Teenage Witch", "Living Single", "Caroline in the City", "Providence", etc. On PBS, he was a guest soloist twice with the Boston Pops and once with Marvin Hamlisch and the National Symphony on "Holiday for the Troops at The Kennedy Center" and in "Words and Music by Jerry Herman".

Movie appearances include the title role in "Sunshine Barry and the Disco Worms" (2008 Toronto and London Film Festivals), Disney's "Home on the Range", "On Edge", "Gepetto", "The Dukes of Hazzard in Hollywood", and "Awakening of Spring" . He has been heard on many cartoons and for 5 and 1/2 years he was the voice of "Lucky, the Leprechaun" for Lucky Charms Cereal, a balanced part of your complete breakfast.

He made his Los Angeles Opera debut as "Njegus" in "The Merry Widow", repeating the role with Dallas , New Orleans, Houston Grand Opera, and Michigan Opera Theatre (Oscar Wilde Award nomination). Also with L.A. Opera he was featured as "Offenbach" in "The Grand Duchess" , directed by Garry Marshall. He has played "Frosch" in "Die Fledermaus" with the Washington National and San Francisco Operas, the Manhattan School of Music, and most recently with Houston Grand Opera.

Jason has recorded over 45 CDs, including original cast albums, concerts, compilations, and his 3 solo CDs, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile - Jason Graae Sings Charles Strouse", and "Jason Graae LIVE at The Cinegrill" (Fynsworth Alley), and "Perfect Hermany-the songs of Jerry Herman."

Most recently, Ryan played the role of Hans in Disney’s Frozen on Broadway. Additional theater credits include Fiyero in Wicked on Broadway, and originating the roles of JD in Heathers The Musical and Mac in Scotland, PA, off-broadway.

Ryan was thrilled to be a part of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Brad Majors, released on Fox Television.

Welcome to the 19th episode of Broadway Babies! This week Noelle and Stephanie welcome Kristin Hanggi (bare, Rock of Ages). Kristin joins us just in time for the 20th anniversary celebration of the landmark, original production of bare: a pop opera!

Kristin Hanggi is a theater, television, and film director as well as a passionate multi-hyphenate — writer, producer, story shaman, intuitive healer, artist, and poet.

She is best known for directing and developing the international smash-hit Rock of Ages, which received five Tony Award nominations, including a nomination for Best Direction of a Musical. She has directed productions of Rock of Ages all over the world, including Broadway and the West End. Ms. Hanggi's developed and directed the acclaimed pop opera bare, which ran to sold-out audiences in Los Angeles and off-Broadway, won numerous awards, and has gone on to have over 500 productions internationally.

As a film director, Kristin directed Naomi & Ely's No Kiss List, an adaption of Rachel Cohn & David Levithan's popular novel of the same name, starring Victoria Justice. She made her feature directorial debut in 2013 with the indie Grantham & Rose. For television, Ms. Hanggi adapted and directed the hit book series, Dear Dumb Diary into a musical movie, under Executive Producer Jerry Zucker for Walden Media. She also recently directed an episode on the upcoming Netflix musical series Julie and the Phantoms.

A partial list of past stage productions include: Clueless; Accidentally Brave; Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion; Atlantis; Pirate La Dee Da; the initial production that launched the Pussycat Dolls, Pussycat Dolls Live at the Roxy. Ms. Hanggi graduated with her Masters from USC after receiving her Bachelors from UCLA in Theater. In June of 2013, Kristin returned to her alma mater when she received the UCLA School of Theater, Film, & Television Distinguished Alumni Award. Kristin has a love of music, and has directed multiple music videos and short films. She hosts a weekly podcast with her best friend Natalie Roy called “Let’s Play: The CREATE Podcast” on the intersectionality of spirituality & creativity.

She also co-starred with Glenn Close in the Disney film version of SOUTH PACIFIC. Ilene has performed for Crystal Cruises, has sold out concerts at New York’s legendary Birdland, Hollywood’s Catalina Jazz Club, Feinstein’s at Vitello’s in Los Angeles, and along with her family The Graffs, at New York’s Feinstein’s/54 Below. Ilene and her daughter Nikka have also done their duet cabaret show, “Together Again for the First Time” both at Feinstein’s 54 Below and Feinstein’s at Vitello’s. Ilene’s husband, ASCAP Award-winning composer Ben Lanzarone, is her musical director, arranger, co-producer and accompanist. They are the proud parents of Nikka Graff Lanzarone, an accomplished musical theatre performer.

NIKKA GRAFF LANZARONE is a NYC-based performer who really likes telling stories. She has been lucky enough to do that on Broadway (Chicago, Women on the Verge…), Off-Broadway (Sweet Charity, Hello Again, Seussical), on stages all over the country (Peep Show, My Paris, The Jungle Book, A Chorus Line, Into the Woods to name a few), a few screens here and there (“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Divorce,” “Unforgettable,” “Smash,” “Live from Lincoln Center.”), and on the occasional recording. After a two month hiatus, we are back with our eleventh episode of Broadway Babies! In this episode, Noelle and Stephanie welcome the wonderful Jennie Kwan! 

Jennie Kwan, a native Angelino, started performing at the age of 11 years old in the performing troupe, “Kids of the Century.” Audiences first recognized Jennie when she played the lead role of “Kim” in the First National Touring Company of “Miss Saigon” having landed the coveted role after producer Cameron Mackintosh conducted a worldwide search.

Jennie was then introduced to television as series regular, Samantha Woo, the wacky singing sensation on NBC-TV’s situation comedy, “California Dreams” which aired for five successful seasons and then onto worldwide syndication. Recently Jennie and castmate Kelly Packard produced the “California Dreams Reunion Concert” featuring Guest Star Ryan Cabrera to huge success. Some of Jennie’s other television credits include New Girl, Anger Management, and The Nanny. Some film credits include “Promoted”, “Entourage”, and “Trojan War.”

For two years Jennie traveled with “Faces of America,” a one-person show regarding diversity and tolerance in America. She was an original cast member of “Bare, the Musical” originating the role of Diane Lee and had a short stint in “Jewtopia” both shows having successful runs on Off-Broadway.

Jennie toured the United States with the Broadway Tony Award-Winning Musical, First National Tour of “Avenue Q” getting the chance to play the role of “Christmas Eve.” As well as becoming a puppeteer and playing the role of “Mrs. T”, “Bears” and Others.”

Jennie was a proud member of Hollywood Record’s vocal group, “Nobody’s Angel” who earned a Gold record for performing two songs on the “Princess Diaries” soundtrack and was a co-creator for the pilot, “Nobody’s Angel” television network ABC Family. And Disney lovers have been fortunate to see Jennie ride the magic carpet as “Jasmine” in Disney’s musical spectacular “Aladdin.”

She lends her voice to the character, Suki, on Nickelodeon’s hit animated series “Avatar: The Last Air Bender,” as well as all video games for the series. Presently you can hear as Thirteen in Netflix’s animated anime “Scissor seven”. Jennie also enjoys an active voice-over career in many other animes and numerous video games.

Currently, Jennie resides in Los Angeles with her husband Matt and her cat Toothless. She performs as Priscilla Poodle in kid’s pop concert Show “Twinkle Time”. She continues to work in all areas of the business as an actress, singer, dancer, voice-over artist, and vocal coach.

For Broadway, he and co-lyricist Scott Wittman have written "Hairspray" (Tony & Grammy Awards), “Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me”, “Catch Me If You Can” (Tony nom), "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" and they are currently writing a new musical version of "Some Like It Hot". Marc composed original music for the revival of "The Odd Couple" with Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick and for the current revival of "Plaza Suite" starring Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker.

Television credits include "Saturday Night Live" (Emmy and Golden Globe nom), “Smash” (Emmy & Golden Globe nom), The Oscars with Billy Crystal (Emmy Award), and appearances with Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Lane, Jennifer Hudson, Jack Black & Will Ferrell, among others.

He has co-produced/arranged recordings and performances for Bette Midler, Harry Connick Jr., Peter Allen, Eric Clapton, Diane Keaton, Patti LuPone, Steve Martin, Barbra Streisand, Robin Williams and many more. His online opus “Prop 8 - The Musical” was a Webbie Award winner and he and co-writer Mariah Carey were nominated for a Golden Globe for their title song for the animated film "The Star".

Michael Cerveris is an American actor, singer, and guitarist. He has performed in many stage musicals and plays, including several Stephen Sondheim musicals: Assassins, Sweeney Todd, Road Show, and Passion. In 2004, Cerveris won the Tony Award as Best Featured Actor in a Musical for Assassins as John Wilkes Booth. In 2015, he won his second Tony Award as Best Actor in a Musical for Fun Home as Bruce Bechdel.

He was called, by Playbill.com, "arguably the most versatile leading man on Broadway", playing roles from "Shakespeare's Romeo to The Who's Tommy, from the German transsexual rock diva Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch to the homicidal title character of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd."

Cerveris' most visible television role to date has been as the Observer code-named September in the FOX science fiction television series Fringe. His character, a mysterious man seen attending many unusual events, has appeared regularly during the series and become one of the main characters to bring the story to its end. Cerveris has also appeared as Marvin Frey on Treme, State's Attorney James Castro on The Good Wife, Ramses IV on The Tick, Lazlo Valentin/Professor Pyg on Gotham and Assistant Director Gunn on Mindhunter.

Chicago native Laura Schein has been singing, dancing, and acting professionally since the age of 10. Her acting credits include Showtime's Masters of Sex, Weeds, YouTube Originals' Sing It!, multiple award-winning indie films, and roles at theaters such as Geffen, Goodman, Center Theatre Group, Goodspeed, Court Theatre, Victory Gardens, Sacred Fools, and Manhattan Theater Club. She co-created the improvised series  Crystal’s Balls for Funny Or Die, for which she received an LA WebFest "Outstanding Lead Actress" nomination. As a child actor, she guest starred opposite Kyle Chandler and Luis Guzman on CBS' Early Edition, and Joan Cusack on ABC's What About Joan, and played Little Girl in the first national tour of Frank Galati's Ragtime.

Her dancing has been featured in films and live shows, and a music video for The Killers. She’s also toured symphony halls around the country singing and dancing with Jason Alexander in his live show An Evening With Jason Alexander.

An accomplished songwriter and lyricist, Laura co-wrote the Kelly Clarkson/Janelle Monae duet “Unbreakable” for the UglyDolls film, which was shortlisted for the 2020 Academy Awards. She is one of the co-creators and stars of the new musical Emojiland, which premiered off-Broadway in January 2020 garnering a rave review and critic’s pick from The New York Times.  She’s currently writing on a musical series for Jeffrey Katzenberg at Quibi. Laura is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Peter Lockyer made his Broadway debut at the age of 19 in the Dutch production of Cyrano – The Musical, and has since gone on to play leading roles in some of Broadway’s most popular shows. Peter spent two and a half years in the West End as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables at The Queens Theatre. Peter also starred as Chris in Miss Saigon, both on Broadway and in the first national tour. He was Marius in the 10th-anniversary production of Les Misérables on Broadway and for the China premiere in Shanghai, China, starring Colm Wilkinson. Also on Broadway, Peter played the role of Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann’s critically acclaimed production of La Bohème. He was featured in Lincoln Center Theater’s revival of South Pacific, which aired on PBS nationally. He was also a longtime cast member of Broadway’s The Phantom of the Opera. In the summer of 2007, Peter had the great honor of being one of four Broadway guest stars for Barbra Streisand in her historical, first European concert tour. In 2008, Peter was nominated for a Connecticut Critics Circle Award for his performance as Tom in The Glass Menagerie at The Ivoryton Playhouse, and won the 2011 award for Best Direction of a play for his production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at the same theater. On TV, Peter played Yonkers in the CBS telefilm “Gypsy,” starring Bette Midler. As an avid sports fan, he has enjoyed singing both the American and Canadian national anthems at Major League Baseball games and NFL football games across the U.S. He graduated magna cum laude from New York University, receiving a B.S. in Music Education and Educational Theatre, and added an M.F.A. in Screenwriting and Playwriting from the University of British Columbia.
