The fifth and final episode delves into the city and discusses the work of a number of artists and architects based on historical places and events in Bruges. We also explore some less known places in the city.

The fourth episode elaborates on the theme of Triennial Bruges 2021: TraumA, and exposes the city's stratification. With thematic examples, this episode gives an alternative view on Bruges and its artistic creations.

The third episode focuses on art and the perception of art in the city of Bruges. This episode takes us along the historical route that Bruges Triennial has already taken and opens the door to new and challenging art projects.

In the second episode, architecture runs like a thread through Bruges' history. How do you create and preserve a historic city on a human scale? How to balance between the valuable historical heritage and contemporary architecture?

The first episode explores the origins of Bruges as a city and delves into its often dark history. Where does the name 'Bruges' come from? How did Bruges become the political, economic and cultural powerhouse of Northwestern Europe from the 14th century onwards? And how did the city deteriorate so much afterwards that it was described as an old and sleeping city?

De vijfde en laatste aflevering duikt de stad in en bespreekt het werk van een aantal kunstenaars en architecten aan de hand van historische plaatsen en gebeurtenissen in Brugge. Ook gaan we de dialoog aan met een aantal minder gekende plekken in de stad.

De vierde aflevering gaat dieper in op het thema van Triënnale Brugge 2021: TraumA, en legt de gelaagdheid van de stad bloot. Met thematische voorbeelden geeft deze aflevering een alternatieve blik op Brugge en haar artistieke creaties.

De derde aflevering legt de focus op kunst en de beleving van kunst in de stad Brugge. Deze aflevering neemt de luisteraar mee langs het historische parcours dat Triënnale Brugge reeds heeft afgelegd, en opent de deur voor een nieuwe wind die er doorheen waait.

In de tweede aflevering loopt architectuur als een rode draad doorheen de Brugse geschiedenis. Hoe maak en behoud je een historische stad op mensenmaat? Hoe kan een evenwicht gevonden worden tussen waardevol historisch erfgoed, en hedendaagse architectuur?

De eerste aflevering gaat op zoek naar de herkomst van Brugge als stad en duikt in haar soms duistere geschiedenis. Waar komt de naam 'Brugge' vandaan? Hoe werd Brugge vanaf de 14e eeuw de politieke, economische en culturele hotspot van Noordwest-Europa? En hoe takelde de stad nadien zo af dat ze als een oude en slapende stad omschreven werd?
