#11: New media artist & curator Antonio Roberts on Algorave, funding projects at SXSW 2019
Antonio Roberts is a New Media artist and Curator based in Birmingham, UK. He uses uses technology-driven processes to explore issues surrounding open source software, free culture and collaborative practices.We discuss how he gets funding, in kind support, connecting with artists, building community, and much more. His art is often created through programming, he is a part of Algorave, where he and other DJs code music live for an audience (see videos HERE). They host specific workshops on how to use software and truly aim to close the gap between the audience and the performer, and educate people on the variety of ways coding can be used. We caught up at SXSW 2019 in Austin, Texas. #10: Fit Technology Strategist, Jessica Couch of Luxor and Finch, on Representation, Sustainability, & SXSW Applications
Jessica Couch is the founder of the consulting agency Luxor & Finch, where she works with brands, advising them on strategic, data-driven planning. She has worked with numerous companies in the fit technology space and has published over 60 articles on the matter of fit and fit tech, a thesis on fit and perception,  and values corporate responsibility as a whole, emphasizing inclusion, sustainability, and improved practices around fit. She is also the co-creator (along with previous guest Brittany Hicks) of the WOC #FashTech Brunch (links below). Her knowledge runs deep, her Bachelor’s degree is from NC State University’ College of Textile, and her Master’s is in Digital Innovation and Fit from Cornell University (a curriculum she developed under the guidance of Professor Susan P. Ashdown). She shares some great perspectives around how brands could and should be held accountable to enforced sustainability standards and has a wealth of knowledge surrounding the industry.  This episode would not be possible without the partnership of Trendscaping.
