#84. Make Everyday a Vacay
It's been a minute! Needed some time off. And during these last several weeks, I've thought about something... In our quest to create a life we don't need a vacay from, the inverse can end up happening. Case in point: me. I've went for years at a time without vacations, promising myself that I'd do it the next year, then the next one, and so forth. But time off doesn't need to feel so fantastical and elusive. We can bake a vacay into our lives daily with a little imagination, creativity, and discipline. Join me as a share a few ways you too can unwind and do things other than work during your workweek.  Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #83. Get Resourceful
Think not in terms of resources, but instead of resourcefulness. Many of us from humble beginnings learned to work with what we had available and turn them into fuel. Focusing on what we lack doesn't serve us. It's how we use what we can access to our advantage to propel us higher, further, faster. All it takes a little creativity and remixing. Ride with your boy... Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Podcasts, and Google Podcasts. #82. See the Good in 'Em
Our expectations of people - based on *our* opinions and standards for them - inevitably lead to disappointment. When what is so obvious to us becomes so blind to them, things are unsettling. But we mustn't judge or view people through our own prisms. We have to look at them based on their opinions and expectations of themselves, however rudimentary or basic we think those outlooks are. If we do that and if there's good in 'em, they're worthy of our time, attention, and praise. Let me explain... Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #81. It's Not About You, It's About Your Body of Work
The things you're doing (or not doing) during your time here are creating your body of work. Your legacy becomes the stories of others because your efforts live on in the minds of those who succeed you. Those stories are rooted in the moments and memories you leave people with. When you recognize this truth, you realize you have enormous power and purpose to put your best foot forward. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #80. Balance Is Key
With so many opportunities... so much of humanity and its contributions to the world to study... so many interests and priorities... it's impossible to touch it all in a single human lifetime. So what's a person to do? Experience as much as you can by finding the right balance that works for you. That could mean being intentional and present with just a few things per quarter or year and then switching gears for the next cycle. Or sticking with those things because you enjoy them so much. Point is not to overwhelm yourself or multitask beyond your bandwidth. What's worked for me is to find that happy medium between my interests and priorities. I'll explain... Thanks for tuning in! #79. Show Up, Show Out, Show Them!
Some incredible things can happen when you just *show up* to your aspirations. Or even that thing you dread doing. In either event, you might realize it isn't as grueling or taxing as you thought it to be. But everything starts by putting yourself in a position you can't talk yourself out of. Showing up to that workout. Showing up to that promise you made your mom. Showing up to your side hustle. See what happens. You just may surprise yourself. And once you do, it's time to show out and show them what you're made of. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #78. Look Around, Opportunities Are Everywhere
How can you ever be bored? How can you ever not know what's worth your time and energy? How can you not have anything better to do? Opportunities are everywhere. If you just take a look around and show some interest. When we're hung up on our bad habits and unhealthy routines, we're blind to these countless opportunities that become immediately obvious when we get clear. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #77. No Resistance, No Strength
To develop any muscle in any organism, there has to be some resistance that the muscle is going up against. To produce stronger muscles, we need triggers. And to develop in life, obstacles are the triggers. Pressure. Surprises. Challenges. Roadblocks. Barriers. All forms of resistance you're sure to face daily. So welcome them, for they bring with them priceless gifts you can only receive once you make it out to the other end. Tune in. I'll explain.  Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #76. We're All Selling Something
We sell *all the time* without even realizing it. Any time you put someone else onto something you know about, you're selling. When you tell your friend, we should eat at *this* restaurant, you're selling your friend on why you all should eat there. When you tell your kids to go outside and play instead of toying with their iPad all day, you're selling your little ones detoxing from their devices for a minute. When you ask someone out on a date, you're selling that person that it'd be worth their time to spend it with you rather than whatever they were gonna do. So as we can see, sales are *so* much more than monetary transactions. At its purest, selling is the act of convincing someone to take an action you want them to take. Here, let me explain... #73. You Just Don't Care Enough
Because if you did, you've have done *that* thing already. Yet, you wanna give me excuses. Whether we're talking good habits or vices, whatever we care about, we become successful at - almost without exception. So we're all "successful" at certain things because we all prioritize something, even if it's just a habit. If we're not proud of the things we're successful at, we have to replace our current priorities with better ones. And we should check in with ourselves quarterly to see if our priorities have changed. When we *do* care enough, anything's possible. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Attack of the Doubters! They're everywhere and the more things you attempt to accomplish, the more often they appear and the more vocal they become. Whether we like it or not, we're all in the business of sales. #70. Always Remember This...
When the world is falling apart around you, it is during these times that it is most critical than ever to practice true bulletproof hustle-ness. The events at the U.S. Capitol last week show us that 2020 ain't quite over, as neither are plenty of other issues haunting USA for the past several hundred years. There must and will be accountability of those who continue to commit misdeeds. To the rest of us, I urge emotional intelligence in spades. Let me explain...  Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #67. Gotta Find a Way
Life isn't fair. But you already knew that. What you might not know is that through all that each and every one of us goes through, we must find a way to push forward through anything and everything. How? To expect that anything could happen. This leads to less disappointment when things don't quite go our way. Something we all could use a little more of. And when the worst doesn't happen, we're left pleasantly surprised. What a neat way to live. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #65. Take a Risk
Is risking nothing to actually risk everything that could be? I mean, are you not entertained? We can spend our entire lives spectating from the sidelines, watching the show - judging those with the courage to express themselves and their art. Or we can participate in the game of life, taste a dose of our medicine, and take a risk that could lead to a reward. I choose the latter every day of the week. How about you? Thanks for tuning in! #63. Out-perform the Norm
I'm not competing with you. I'm not competing with the legends we admire. I'm not competing for a trophy, bragging rights, or social media likes. Why? Because there is no competition for any of us other than who we were yesterday. That's who I'm up against. Long as I'm a little better, further, more improved, more selfless than yesterday, I'm good. Same with you. And when you do that, you're out-performing the norm. No need to compare yourself to anyone. Be the incomparable soul you already are. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #62. Kill That Noise
That voice in the back of your head has its place, but you've gotta let it know who's boss. That voice's primary role is to keep you safe. To save you from public embarrassment. To save you from bruising your ego. It doesn't believe in taking chances, just mitigating risk. But has that ever served anyone in the business of innovation and wonder? Nah. It hasn't. If I've achieved more success than you, it's only because I've had many more failures. And that only means that I've had more experiences than most. #57. Who Are You When No One's Looking?
When the person you are when no one’s looking is the same person as when everyone’s watching… When there are no public masks… When there are no facades about who you are regardless of who your audience is… You are in a class of your own. You are in rare company. This is a high standard and a difficult peak to reach. But if we can get there, love the person in the mirror, and be resolute in our choices, we just might be able to accomplish and achieve anything we set out to. Because the bulk of our energy and time is spent on only the essentials, rather than on being 5 different people in adulthood. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #55. Doing Too Much Is Doing Too Little
When you’re on fire, watch out for the burn out! Busy-ness isn’t the same as progress. Better to put our energy into just 1-2 things at a time. Once anything we’re working on becomes a hit, then we can branch off into the other things that matter to us. Or other ways to share that thing. Several avenues. One lane. #54. Break the Loop
I don't believe people are defined by their circumstances. I think we're defined by our choices. If we feel like our environments failed us or left something to be desired, it's on us to change that. We've gotta break the loop and set the tone for the next gen. It doesn't happen overnight, but it starts with an intention. We only really need two things to become more than we thought we were and lead the way. Find out what those are on this podcast episode. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #53. Mighty Morning Motivation
Though I'm a 4 am-er (on my best days), even after several years of rising so early, it's often not easy for me to get out of bed. It's a cozy place. It's comfortable and familiar. And usually, that alarm is interrupting my time flying over the city of my mind during deep vivid dreaming. But alas, the real day must start so I can "get to the money". #52. Enjoy the Flight
We're not always ready for those "life happens" moments. Sometimes, at best, all we can do is remember our training and that change is gonna come. Word to Sam Cooke. Things rise. Then they subside. Then they rise again in different ways. Ways which also subside. In this episode, join me as I try to place you inside a few moments you or someone you know may have had or seen on TV somewhere. Because if you're gonna fall from grace, you may as well enjoy the flight. And who knows, it might not be as bad as we think. If you're still here, that means your story isn't quite over yet. #51. It's a New Day
You know that frustration you feel when you go through an unexpected power outage? You're working on that all-important document that was due last week and you're rushing to get this thing wrapped, but it's been like an hour since the last time you saved your document. Weather's been nice all day, but then all of a sudden - BOOM. Your screen goes dark and all electricity is zapped from your house. A few hours go by, the lights come back on, you can reset your clocks, but your computer - you have to reboot. Only this time, it's not just you - everybody has to reboot their computers. Sounds a little like this moment we're in globally, right? Things are on reset, but maybe that isn't such a bad thing. Join me in this episode if you're game for seeing things from a different perspective. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #50. In action or Inaction?
It's the 50th episode! It's also been just over a year since I've been podcasting! But the world's been turned inside out so I totally forgot about those achievements, which are probably not all that notable to you right now anyway. Nonetheless, the show must go on and today we talk being in action vs inaction. Where we are on that spectrum and ideas for what us small businesses can be doing during this chaotic time globally. You don't want to miss this episode. It's got that "I really needed to hear this right now" flavor to it, trust me. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #49. We Will Beat the Coronavirus
When it comes to politics, the media, and news cycles, I don't have informed opinions. That's why you rarely hear me talk about any of those things. But since we're currently dealing with a worldwide pandemic, people need hope. They need positivity. They need light. These are topics I know very well. So in this special episode, I share my raw, unscripted thoughts about our reactions to the coronavirus and how we might move forward during these times. I can't speak on how we got here or when it might be over, so this is not that type of episode. However, the CDC and WHO are covering those elements, so tap those links to learn more and follow their recommendations. Stay safe, be well, and be the love we all need right now. #48. Train Like a Champ
There are a million "reasons" to snooze the alarm, go back to bed, and get to that thing tomorrow. But only one reason to answer "the call", wake up, and get to that thing today. It's to become a champ, which begins with rigorous daily training when we really don't feel like it. To become champs we have to train like them. We must develop strong, results-driven habits. And we have to train regardless of the weather outside or if we're not in the mood. This is what separates the legends from those nobody remembers. Join your boy in this episode where I share why I train the way I do while giving you the kick in the @$$ that might just get you to push yourself a little harder.  Thanks for tuning in! #47. Success Determines Access
I'm back! After a 3-week absence, while the common cold-turned-bronchitis kicked my ass, I wasn't quite bedridden, but I did ideate some new episodes. Now I'm at like 99.9% and just recorded this fresh episode. Today, we talk about success. True success is measured by how much we can give rather than how much we can receive. Before getting to that level of success, where we have achieved several goals and have very minimal financial strains, maybe we could consider viewing success in terms of levels of access. Success is really about what or who we can access easily. More specifically, access to people, places, and things that will help us create an impact. Confused yet? Agh, it'll make a lot more sense when you tune in. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. #46. Master the Moment
To be unanimously, unapologetically present and engaged with ourselves, that thing, or that person is to master the moment. It is to be at complete peace and tranquility with whatever's happening around us, without wishing things we can't change were any different. This. Is. Life. The one we're missing out on available to each of us between all of the moments that we overlook. The one we're missing out on every time we regret our past and worry about our futures. Join your boy as we get present and explore some ways we can all master the moment and the benefits we gain from doing so. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #45. Wash Your Brain
Every day has its struggles. Every day we’re bombarded with facts, opinions, gossip, reviews, and contradictory information.  There’s so much input we’re taking in daily that we could all use a rinse cycle for our brains. Washing off all that isn’t useful to us in our larger lives and goals. Who said all brainwashing is bad? Join me in this week’s episode as I make a case for washing our brains almost after every time we take in new info about the world and share with you some examples of affirmations and tips of how we can retrain our brains to empower us rather than cripple us. #44. Lose the Ego
Practicing humility is sometimes harder than practicing confidence. To believe we are not the center of the universe. To shine a light on others and their dreams. To encourage some strength within them. To put other’s needs above our own. With all that we already have going on. But when we lose the ego, we gain compassion for ourselves and others. We are more powerful. More still. Less self-obsessed. Without having to hide behind that which covers our insecurities. Ride with me as we break down what the ego is all about along with a few bulletproof points on how to lose it. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #43. Nobody Owes You Anything
When we come from a place of "this better happen" or "people better respond this way to this thing I'm putting out", we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. Nobody owes you anything. Not their time. Not their attention. And certainly not their money. Yet we have a tendency to expect one or all of these things in business, just because we built something and have heard that people will come. The rules of commerce have changed and empathetic marketing is arguably the best way to earn the attention you desire when you cannot outspend your competitors. Join me in this unusually long, but totally warranted episode where we consider adjusting the mindset we come from and what it could mean for our chances at success. #42. I'm Afraid to Die
We're all afraid of something. I'm afraid of many things, the bulk of which I share in this episode, so that you learn more about what makes people like me tick. The layered thoughts that guide the choices and sacrifices we make. The situations we worry about. Fear can be a powerful tool when you use it to push you through the tunnel rather than around it or never leaving it at all. Furthermore, fear (at least for me) lives in the regrets of the past and in the unknown of the future. But it rarely lives here in the present; the gift of the now. So while we all sometimes fixate on worse case scenarios, things we have no power or control over, and pointless "what if's", the antidote seems to be a balanced life, here in the present. Happy 2020. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? Subscribe to this podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts. #41. Progress Over Perfection
All too well, I know what it's like to hoard projects I'm working on from the world until I'm 1,000% satisfied with them. Clamoring for one final breakthrough or one last thing that will take it over the top before I release it has rarely served me positively. Usually, the stuff I was tripping over goes unnoticed and was irrelevant in the bigger picture. Instead, I should've focused on crafting an event and an experience around the thing I spent months working on. In this episode, I share some high-level ways we can build an extraordinary adventure around an ordinary product/service to earn the success and impact we seek. Great marketing and storytelling can make up for an average product when its our first rodeo, and sometimes, taking this approach saves us disappointment in the long run. Thanks for tuning in! #40. Celebrate the Small Wins
There's always something to be grateful for. Always something to remind us of how blessed we are in this day and age. Always something we overlook when we only focus on the obvious and the bigger picture. There are extraordinary constants which we don't consciously recognize regularly. Things that happened recently, which we haven't given due praise. Things we've forgotten about too, yet still remain. In this episode, I invite you to celebrate the small wins from here on out; on a constant, daily basis. The access you have to information. The essentials which you're privileged to enjoy. In showing gratitude early and often, we are humbled by all that surround us on our quests in life and in business. Immediately, our lives are more rewarding and fulfilling, because there's always something to celebrate. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #39. Always Another Level
No matter how far you go in life, how high your achievements, how many lives you impact, or how deeply you master your craft or area of interest, there is always another level for you to reach. Each peak you reach is just one is a sea of many. As our thinking and methods evolve through experimentation, what is the highest level today, could become the lowest common denominator tomorrow. Join me as I hit you with the three major tools to take with you on your next "mountain climb" or unknown journey. And who knows? #38. To Coach Is to Learn
I cannot claim to be a self-made entrepreneur, because I stand on the shoulders of giants. As a coach, I learn deeply each day. Most, if not all, of us, have been coached in some form if we've learned from people who know and have experienced more than us. We all need coaches. And all coaches have other coaches. But the true burden of all masters (coaches) is they become what their students grow beyond. In this episode, I invite you to look at coaching as learning. #37. From Victim to Victor
I was a victim of bullying for a short time as a kid. I don't have a cool comeback story about how I fought those guys back. It didn't last long because either I bored them or they got what they deserved in some other way, but that's the only time in my life where I've ever felt like a sufferer. There's no fun or pride to be had in being the victim in any altercation. And though injustices can blindside us, we can still become the victors of our own stories, with time and with changes in our outlook. #36: Bet On Yourself
Entrepreneurship is a lot like a casino and most times, you have to work with and from the hand, you were dealt in life. Though we don't really get to trade out cards with the other players, we do get to upgrade them and play the ones that play best to our strengths. When you've exhausted all options in betting on others, ever considered what would happen if you bet on yourself? That's the theme of this episode where I share some humble recommendations on precisely how to bet on yourself and win in the end. And the great thing is that no one else has to lose. #35. There Is No Safety Net
When all else fails... when it seems like everyone is counting you out... the world brings you to your knees... never lose trust in yourself and your own abilities. Our greatest strengths and weaknesses lie in how strongly or weakly we believe in ourselves. There is no safety net, but the one you create for your own landing, so invest in yourself, your own job security, and your own financial cushion. Even when we feel like we've tried out every possible option for a business idea or exercise that hasn't led to anything special, we still haven't tried everything yet. Only in trying different things can we get to different outcomes. The subtlest shifts can lead to the biggest a-ha's. Sometimes, all we need to do to encourage new insights is to get around some new stories. #33. Challenge Your Beliefs
Maybe all that we've ever known is just one side of a story or one perspective. Maybe all that we know is all that we were taught from the environments we grew up in. Maybe what we knew yesterday is obsolete today. The more you learn, the more you earn. Not just money-wise, but also connection-wise. To evolve as a species, we must all challenge our beliefs often. Join me in this episode where I go deep into the effect not growing up in a church had on me, along with some different ways we can question what we know and become better storytellers because of it. Being genuinely curious about why people believe what they do has allowed me to cross over to places I may not have otherwise journeyed. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #32. Just Get Started
When you don't know how or where to start in creating that thing, the most important thing you can do is to just start where you are with what you have. Start small, start light, and keep it fun. Though simply starting is not enough to create sustained success, starting does give you options and fresh experiences that are worth the journey. I've started so many businesses that I never finished, which on one hand saddens me, but on the other, has allowed me to test several things quickly. Insights that I get to pass on to you. #31. No Storm, No Rainbow
When life gives you rain, find the rainbows. The storm's gonna come anyway, but if we survive it, that pot of gold on the other side of all that thunder and lightning may be awaiting us. We cannot succeed without first failing many times, for there are things we must learn during the process before we are deemed worthy of success. In this episode, I share why I now embrace failure on the daily, some thoughts on how to "dance in the rain", and uncover what the pot of gold signifies. Failure is life's great teacher, equalizer, and judiciary. Accepting it as a natural precursor to success changes everything. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #30. Stop Selling, Start Connecting
We're all salesmen and saleswomen, no matter which industry we're in. Even when we're not pitching our products and services, every day on a personal level, we're selling our ideas and beliefs whenever we share our thoughts with people; trying to get them to see from our vantage point. Thing is, so few of us get to know those we're selling to before we go in for the sale. What if instead, we lead with conscious branding: the business of earning trust? Journey with your boy as I offer insights on how to come from a place of passion over profits. I also share why we must become stronger listeners of the stories we're surrounded with daily and center our businesses around the many issues of our audience. Because when we connect, that thing we're doing sells itself - no upselling required. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #29. Struggle Breeds Hustle
You don't get the hustle without first overcoming the struggle. If life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react, then maybe life is 10% struggle and 90% hustle. The kicker is that none of us are ever exempt from those "life happens" moments. The difference is in our Comeback Game; our resolve. Naturally, there isn't enough time to share every single seminal moment or memory I carry around, but hopefully this along with Part I & Part II help paint a solid portrait of my past. Things such as areas of my marriage, the businesses I owned equity within, and moves between homes*. #26. Do It for Them
Creating a brand or a business is never just about the creators. It's also about who we do this for, which becomes a part of our why. When we are crystal clear who that person or thing is, everything we touch becomes more intentional and purposeful. We create connections, loyalty, and bonds. Whether you know it or not, somebody out there cares about what you're up to and they won't do what they should be doing until they see you do it first. Journey with me as I paint a picture featuring that one kid out there who needs you to show and prove, along with some of the people I'm in entrepreneurship for, plus bulletproof points on how to do it for them - since it's much bigger than you or me. #25. You Don't Know Me: Part II
In Part II of this 3-part "You Don't Know Me" series, I share with you impactful moments and choices from my life after 9/11 through the end of my first business venture in 2008. There's a lot of good here, along with some decisions I'm not too fond of. I've since learned that the good in life is usually flanked by the bad and the ugly as well. One of the toughest pills I've swallowed is that I lost relationships with my best friends and their families because of my entrepreneurial ambitions and selfishness. In other words, I chose business (and a domesticated life) over maintaining most of my older friendships. I hope my closet is now a little cleaner, and that the people of my past have since lived better lives without me in them, as I did not deserve their love. Listeners, I invite you to get to know the all of me. Especially the unpleasant parts (though again, there is some good here!). Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #23. They Know Nothing
All advice is not created equal. And most of us end up taking business advice from those better suited to provide life advice only. Sometimes those closest to us have not achieved their dreams because they were either too comfortable in their complacency - or because they failed once and didn't get back in the ring. Join me as we break down the things our peers, family, and friends tell us, when they really know nothing - along with ways we can become better equipped to absorb the advice we need to further our journeys in business and entrepreneurship. #22. You Don't Know Me: Part I
Throughout this podcast thus far, I've shared tidbits about my story and how the lessons I've learned along the way tie into the topics I've been discussing with you. Still, nothing's quite like taking you on a chronological journey through some of my most seminal memories - to give you better context on the man behind the mic. Plus you all have asked me to share more of my history with you, so I listened and it's therapeutic! Join me as we walk through the ugliness and beauty of the first third of my life in real time (as I remember it). You may find that we have more in common than you think. Thanks for tuning in! #21. Win the Morning, Own the Day
With the exception of a few careers such as singing, acting, or entertaining, success as an entrepreneur literally begins with bulletproof mornings. Whether you go for a jog, or prepare your kids' lunches, or set your intentions for the week - whatever's your thing - this is your self-improvement time. But the secret is that every powerful morning starts the night before. I'm not flawless, but I woke up like this because of yesterday's prep-game. Join me today as we discuss why mornings over nights usually yield better results and how becoming a morning person no matter what your lifestyle is, is possible. As usual, this episode ends with three (3) practical bulletproof points to help you win the morning so that you can own the day. *Learn more about natural sleep cycles: Calm Masterclass on Better Sleep feat. #20. Make It Foolproof
Attention is quickly becoming the most valuable resource in the world, second only to time. As large companies spend billions each year on buying our attention, us smaller fish must be creative in finding authentic ways to cut through the noise. One path forward is to make your offering as foolproof, honest, and memorable as possible. In turn, you're more likely to be rewarded with mass adoption of your product, service, or brand. #18. Expect Nothing, Earn Everything
One of the biggest issues in today's culture is that we feel that people owe us something. Their attention. Their engagement. Their money. Their loyalty. But the truth is, no one owes us anything. When we shift our focus towards earning everything and expecting nothing, we are way less disappointed by sudden outcomes. In this week's episode, join me as I break down exactly how to earn the results you seek along with recent examples of how expectations I had nearly derailed me. And finally, I share three (3) bulletproof points on how to earn customer loyalty and sales for all of my entrepreneurial listeners out here. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode? #17. Don't Make My Mistakes
Don't let my optimism, passion, and motivational sensibility fool you. I still struggle on a daily basis, which I'm fine by, because lessons get learnt. It's not fun admitting our shortcomings and faults, but when done on our own merits, we become liberated. In this week's episode, I publicly admit to some of my mistakes, what I'm doing to rectify them, and what I've since learned that may help you in dealing with yours. Thanks for tuning in! Every challenge we face can either serve us or stop us. #14. Niche Down, Scale Up
As a brand strategist, I teach my clients how to become more consumer-centric and why the Empathy Business is the only business that matters. She who knows and serves her customers best, wins. And for you to win, no one else has to lose. In this week's business-focused episode, I uncover what businesses who disrupt industries are doing that you're not, why your brand visuals don't matter as much as you think they do, and how to niche downward so that you can scale upward. #13. Talk Less. Walk More.
If talk is cheap, then walking is expensive. But it's a price I'm willing to pay. When we keep our intentions and projects to ourselves, not only do we exercise humility, it also forces us to become show-ers, instead of tellers. In this episode, I share ways in which you can work without talking about what you're going to do, examples of things I said I'd do but failed to achieve, and why you need accountability partners. #11. Get Comfortable With Being Uncomfortable
The comfort zone is a cozy, but dangerous place to rest for long as a side hustler or entrepreneur. If we use it like a pitstop to refuel our tanks, the better prepared we are on the road to success. Growth happens when we test our limits. So for this week's episode, I challenge you to put yourself in uncomfortable settings, while detailing a neighborhood run I recently went on that nearly broke me. #7. No Guts, No Story
Stories help us make sense of the world and allow us to experience the fantastic adventures of others. All great stories involve conflict, guts, and resolve. And often times, the best part of our stories start with what we do when life happens to us. In this week's episode, journey with me as we dive into why we must make that leap, especially when we're most scared. For only then, can do we earn that campfire setting with a story worth sharing to those who can't wait to hear it. Thanks for tuning in! Dig this episode?
