Word of the year - Learning Bite :: Episode 3‪2

Hello Friends!

This week’s Learning Bite is all about our words of the year!

If you haven’t chosen a “Word of the Year” yet, then you need one and today’s episode will show you how to do just that. Both of us share our words for the year and strategies on how to do that.

Having a Word of the Year is a really fun way to set your intentions and theme for the year to guide you throughout the year. It’s a word that embodies what you want to do, think, accomplish. Something that you can apply in little ways throughout your daily life in 2021.

Planning for Your Business in 2021 :: Episode 27

Hello Friends!

After a year like 2020, trying to plan for anything seems like an impossible task. You may even think why bother? Well of course, as entrepreneurs we need to plan where we are going, which mile markers to look for, etc.

In 2021, we’re going to make this year a year full of abundance, clarity, and focus but that won’t happen without some planning and thinking about things a bit differently.

In today's super-short episode, Tammy and Alaina discuss the idea of trying to plan after a year like 2020 was. Last year was a very difficult year for business owners and consumers alike.

We also discuss some other important topics:

  • Tammy shares her gratitude for having COVID last summer, being forced to revisit certain things, and all the positive ways it has affected her life since.
  • Practical tips and strategies on how to plan for 2021, no matter what happens
  • Alaina shares the importance of remembering your “WHY”.

Favorite quotes:

"Planning is a key part of running your business, even if you are an Enneagram 7!”

“Planning is great but be flexible in your planning. The most important thing is to keep moving forward and not give up.”

“So many Zoom calls - ALL. THE ZOOM. CALLS”

Now is a Perfect Time :: Episode 25

Welcome Friends!

It's finally 2021, can you believe it? We know that you’re as happy as we are to turn the page on 2020! We are so excited about this episode, the first one of Season 2 of the Business & Learning show!

In today's episode, Tammy and Alaina discuss the idea of everything being perfect before you launch something. It doesn't matter; there will never be the "perfect" time. Start it now, get things good enough, and see what happens. Remember, it is ok to fail. It' is how we learn. Also, you don’t want to miss Tammy’s attempt at her Dave Hollis impression!

We also discuss some other important topics :

1. We learn best by failing. It is important to get out there and fail. Launch that project, see what your audience wants, FAIL, and make it better the next time around.

2. Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Our comfort zones are just that, comfortable. To grow and reach your full potential, you need to step outside where it is difficult and challenging.

3. Instagram and social media is not reality. It is the highlight reel. We only put out the best content on social media. It is full of lies, and anyone that tells you otherwise is also lying to you and themselves.

Favorite quotes:

"We all have to start somewhere!"

"Social Media lies, y'all! "

The Power of No :: Episode 23

The Power of No :: Episode 23

Welcome Friends!

We are so excited about this episode, the first one of Season 2 of the Business & Learning show!

In today’s episode, Tammy and Alaina are talking all about the power of no boundaries and how your “WHY” needs to be specific and strong to get you through those difficult seasons on your entrepreneurial journey!

We recorded this special episode during our annual meeting retreat this past October! We had so much fun that weekend with planning our 2021 goals, reflecting on the last year, and tons of laughs. Over those few days, we discovered the implementation of boundaries and saying no to projects that didn’t serve our business and our clients well. The power of no is essential to creating and maintaining boundaries, staying on task, and growing a thriving and sustainable business.

In this episode, we discuss:

1. No is a complete sentence.

2. Setting boundaries is key to staying on track.

3. Set goals that are mean something specific for you and not someone else

Favorite quotes:

“Boundaries are your friend.”

“It’s either a HELL YES, or it is a no! “
