Chad Williams story represents a tragic miscarriage of Justice in America.  His story also is a master class in determination.

Chad Williams was an economics major at SUNY Buffalo State, paving the road for a bright professional future.

That all changed as a junior, during an evening with his friends on Chippewa Avenue, when he was falsely accused of assaulting an Uber driver.

In the excruciating year that followed, Williams, who is Black, dealt with a public defender who took little interest in the case, and a justice system that looked at his protestations of innocence with something between indifference and disbelief.

“I’m a college student during the whole thing, and it was weighing on my mind,” Williams said. “I didn’t want to go to work. I didn’t want to go to school.”

After he resisted a plea deal, the case was finally dropped as Williams was entering his senior year in fall 2019.

It was a personal graduation of sorts – he was now determined to do something about social justice issues that nearly derailed his life.

Williams founded dooProcess, a social justice apparel startup, as a way to express himself and make a difference.

We have to be grateful for the connections we have.  And it can be slow going.  We do have ways to consistently add growth and their are techniques that speed up the process.

If you are like me you probably don’t talk about your competitive advantage enough. Especially in your marketing materials.

When I have a client on the phone shopping for options I am usually fairly quick to mention that my staff is local and knows the area.  This is different from my larger competitors who would need to send staff on train or in a van to my local locations creating more cost for the client even though my hourly rate might be a little higher.  Which means the client still saves on cost!!!

This doesn't fall into “hard sale” territory as I am showing my knowledge and educating the customer.  I get to help in shaping the decision.  Because my staff are local I have an advantage when it comes to consistency and retention for those local businesses and events.

Of those LinkedIn users who are frequently engaging with the platform, 40% access it on a daily basis, clocking up over 1 billion interactions every month. However, LinkedIn is used sparingly, so you only have a few minutes to make an impact. Users only spend about 17 minutes on LinkedIn per month.  

LinkedIn now has almost 740 million members with over 55 million registered companies.  

LinkedIn is an especially good source for discovering leads. Hubspot found that LinkedIn is 277% more effective at generating leads than Facebook and Twitter.  

In 2019, LinkedIn sessions increased 25 percent year-over-year, with 358 billion feed updates viewed.  but only 3 million users (out of the 740 million) share content on a weekly basis. This means that only about 1% of LinkedIn’s 260 million monthly users share posts, and those 3 million or so users net the 9 billion impressions.

If you are having trouble setting your schedule I suggest you focus on these three areas:  

1. Health
2. Relationships
3. Business/Revenue Generation  

Put them on your calendar and make sure you commit to making these priorities a priority over things that you may enjoy doing more but do not drive you towards your goals.
