Well that year went fa.........oh it's only October??? This year has felt like it has lasted FOREVER! Teaching is one of those professions that you love or hate and unfortunately we get a lot of hate as well. In this episode I am pulling back the curtain and giving you a look behind the scenes to really see what it has been like to teach this year. Let me tell you this....it is not easy, it is a lot more work, but I wouldn't trade my job for anything! Today I am bringing my ideas for how a school can sustain success for its students! Inspired by an Edutopia article, I discuss my idea on creating freshmen peer support groups. Finding ways to ensure student success can be difficult and time consuming, but with my ideas I think it creates the necessary school culture for our students. They come first! Educational standards have been a part of the American educational system for many years. That being said......I HATE standards. In this episode of Get The Schist I unpack the standards and outline my idea of what I think the education system should be. I am not as experienced as others and by no means do I have the perfect answer, but feel free to take a listen on my ideas on reforming education!
