(Webster) The Rise And Fall Of A King Part 2: Anointed
1 Samuel 16:1-13 May 19, 2024 Even in Israel’s faithlessness, God was faithful. God chose and anointed David as King, not because of earthly standards or accomplishments, but because he was one after God’s heart. Jesus was God’s anointed King to rule and redeem his people but was not recognized by his peers either.

(Oakville) The Rise and Fall Of A King Part 1: Promised
Deuteronomy 17:14-20, 1 Samuel 8-9 May 12, 2024 God promised a king for Israel all the way back in Deuteronomy during the time of Moses. But Israel got tired of waiting for God’s promise to come true, and they set up their own king. The king Israel chose, was a complete failure. The good news is God is faithful to His promise, even when we are not. Ultimately in sending King Jesus, the king we didn’t want or chose, but the King we need.

(Webster) Resurrection Life Part 5: Purpose
Ephesians 2:10 April 28, 2024 As great as all of this resurrection life is and has been, it is all leading somewhere – and not just to us getting to live forever. But we, each, are a part of God’s overall plan to accomplish His redemptive act for creation. He creates, gifts, calls and saves each of us in order that we, then may live out His purpose for which He created us to begin with. In living out that purpose with the resurrection power, we also find the greatest amount of joy.

(Webster) Resurrection Life Part 4: Belonging
Ephesians 2:19, April 21, 2024 This hope, forgiveness, transformation, doesn’t just happen on an island! Perhaps one of the most beautiful truths in all of this is that we also, once saved, become immediately part of a community of believers who are all experiencing the same resurrection power in their lives. This produces community, togetherness, and partnership!

2 Corinthians 3:18 April 14, 2024 Because of the resurrection and Jesus being alive, He comes alive in us through the Spirit. He indwells us. This immediately means change – some immediate, but also much change that is and will be ongoing. We are all in the process of being changed to the image of Christ. All because He’s alive!!

(Webster) Resurrection Life Part 2: Forgiveness
1 John 1:9 April 7, 2024 When Jesus rose from the grave, He conquered death and sin. This act of victory sealed the deal that His blood and sacrifice was powerful for our forgiveness. As Paul says, “if Jesus didn’t rise, our faith is futile and we’re still in our sins.” But, because He did rise, our faith is NOT futile and we are forgiven in Him. And, we have now the ability to forgive others as well.

(Oakville) Resurrection Life Part 1: Hope
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 March 31, 2024 Because Jesus lives, we always have hope. Hope that everything WILL be okay. Hope that even though I’m in a season of sorrow and pain, it will end, there WILL be healing, there WILL be restoration. And one day, there will be no more of this sorrow or pain or suffering.

A Greater Faith
Matthew 15
March 24, 2024
Guest speaker Josh Easter demonstrates the idea of a greater faith presented by Jesus in Matthew 15. In Matthew 15, Jesus confronts the Pharisees and scribes who criticized his disciples for not following traditional Jewish rituals. He rebukes them, emphasizing the importance of inner purity over outward observance. Following this, he performs miracles, feeding thousands of people with a few loaves of bread and fish. The chapter ends with Jesus warning his disciples to beware of the teachings of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
(Webster) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 12: Foundations
Matthew 7:24-29 March 24, 2024 Upon what foundation is your life built? The American dream? Your own ambitions for wealth, power, luxury or comfort? Or on the person of Jesus! There is only one Firm foundation and that is Jesus Himself. Be the wise man, not the foolish man.

(Webster) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 11: Fruit-Bearing
Matthew 7:15-23 March 17, 2024 Just as seeing specific fruit reveals to us the kind of tree, the fruit our lives produce reveals our faith – or lack thereof. Jesus’ main thrust in this passage is to be very aware of fruit – ours and others, especially those who claim to be leaders.

(Oakville) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 10: Judging
Matthew 7:1-6 March 10, 2024 This is perhaps the most quoted passage in our culture today. It seems the world has an aversion to “judging.” And, at first glance, it seems Jesus is saying “Don’t judge.” However, looking more deeply, that is not what He is saying, at least with some caveats. Let’s explore what Jesus and the rest of the Word teaches about judging – what and who we are to judge and what and who we aren’t.

(Oakville) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 8: Idolatry
Matthew 6:19-24 Date: February 18, 2024 Jesus teaches so clearly in this passage how our heart looks to treasure something. God made us that way to treasure Him. But, in our selfishness and sin, we can quickly begin to treasure someone or something else – money, stuff, position, etc. This is idolatry – when something or someone else replaces God as the center of our attention, ambition and affection.

Matthew 6:5-18, 7:7-11 February 11, 2024 Fasting and prayer are also a part of the regular rhythms of a follower of Jesus. Jesus doesn’t say, “If you fast,” or “If you pray,” but understands that we WILL. And here He gives us counsel on “how” to do both of these. These two rhythms or discipline are absolutely not only life changing, but eternity changing.

Nephilim: Part Two
February 4th The mention of the Nephilim in Genesis is brief and somewhat cryptic, leading to a variety of interpretations and speculation about their identity and nature. As a result, there is not a lot of clear consensus within religious communities about the precise nature or significance of the Nephilim.
(Oakville) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 6: Giving
Matthew 6:1-4 February 4, 2024 Giving is a key character quality of a follower of Jesus. God “gave” His One and only Son. Jesus “gave” His life for us. Now, as we are being conformed to the image of Jesus, we too should be growing in our giving or generosity.

(Oakville) The Greatest Sermon(s) Ever Preached Part 5: Love
Matthew 5:38-48, 7:12-14 January 28, 2024 Perhaps Jesus’ toughest command – love your enemies. How is that even possible? It seems so hard just to love those who are easier to love, let alone those we had rather hate! Yet, in Jesus’ context, this was a real issue as the Romans were easy to hate. Yet, Jesus calls His people to be people of love.

(Oakville) Missing Christmas Part 5: Expectation
Luke 2:25-38
December 24, 2023
So many people in Jesus’ day missed Him – and in our day too. Why was that? Many had certain expectations in their minds as to what to expect with the Messiah. But Simeon and Anna paid close attention to the Word of God and the promises of God. They didn’t miss Jesus. And – they didn’t believe in Jesus because they saw Him, they saw Him as Messiah because they believed.
