Cookies, quotes, floats in my mind.

After a long day, i just wanted my bed. Until i remembered it was monday and i made a promise with myself as part of my healing journey to share thoughts with the listening community as well as get things off my chest.

1/4 pint later of cookies and cream, 2 youtube videos of quotes and emotional webs of thoughts stuck in the corners of my mind, i had to just let my mind sail free and share .

I encourage you to get a journal, listen to quotes and practice your personal affirmations so that you can connect with yourself and continue the healing journey.

Don't Stray MIND !

Confession time, I'm overcoming  what i like to call the 'Dory Complex''. Yes i have the attention span of that  little blue fish from finding nemo, who talks whale and gets lost a lot. Lately i have been dealing with trying to manage my thoughts, emotions and the big bummer my time.  I always want to be engaged and simulated with all the online virtual events and learning opportunities. I cannot simply swallow the entire world. I have to do the uncomfortable task of  prioritizing, value my time along with being consistent with Self care habits. You cannot pour from an empty cup. I was sufferings from burn out and depression was showing me monkey faces.  In this episode i shared some personal proven tips of staying focused by journaling, having routines and built in controls which grab your attention and helps you get back on track.

JUST KEEP SWIMMING, and like dory enjoy life but i encourage you to live in the present because life is quickly flying away. Blessings always.

Music on my mind

Ever wonder why you sing out lyrics to songs you never learnt? Maybe you rock your legs and knock your knees while at your desk with your headphones in. Music is powerful. Music has a close effect on our mood. Music enters the brain without permission. It heals, it transforms, it transports us even make us elevate to levels we never thought of mentally. On my journey to healing, in those dark depressing moments, nothing helped more than hearing my favorite hymn on the piano or rocking to a song i heard when i was a child. Music is always on my mind as well as the negative playlist of self pity, negative talk and doubting thoughts play over and over like the road march of my mind. I have to admit some songs played in the wrong season affected me and damaged me. However they were also healthy signals that something was wrong and that there were parts of me i was not dealing with. In this episode i meet with a close friend of mine online and asked him seven random questions. He introduced me to a different side to the world of music i never saw before. Music as a means to communicate what you find hard to put it words, a valid melody. Sit back, relax and listen to my musical vocal journal conversation about the story of Music and two brains who connect not just with words but with musical meaning.

''MIND' the 'LIKES' !

Do you do what you do for likes? Do you love to swim in the high feeling of seeing 'likes' on your social media post? Are you happy with the life you are living? This episode deals with validation and the effects it has on the brain. In the past , seeking validation damaged me when i didn't get the reactions i wanted. I hope you can see yourself as valuable, a contributor and a valid person / human in this universe. Breathe , everyone is gong through something we don't see or understand. Treat yourself well, handle you with care. Don't seek validation because if it never comes, it can place you in a dark place. Remember you can't pour from an empty cup, full up, share and don't look for anything in return. Validation is only for parking, love you and be okay with the expectations you set for yourself.

This is my first ever podcast. It was all in my head. Fear mixed with tears allowed me to flow down the river of my time in my room to share some healing words.  Your mind is one of your greatest assets. Your thoughts can either heal or hurt you, because the truth is we all enter this world broken. Don't allow yourself to destroy the muscle which controls all other muscles within , the beautiful mind.
