Fresh Take Tuesdays - Change Management and the Challenges Constant Change Poses to Leaders and Their Teams (The Good, The Bad and the UGLY Realities)

Change Management... seems like it's all that leaders do these days. In the retail industry? It has quickly become a leader's primary role in brick and mortar stores.

In our first Fresh Take Tuesday interview, we are joined by Joyce Foskin, a veteran leader within the retail industry for over 2 decades and someone currently working hard to help her location and her team navigate some major changes. Her organization is going through rapid growth and a reorganization TOP DOWN into a more structured and aligned team in terms of every aspect of their company - from customer to employee to supply chain to day to day execution.

In this episode, we take on the topic of change management and explore 3 MAJOR CHALLENGES that this new 'primary' role has for the leaders out there:

1. Career Growth

2. Applying Change Locally

3. Positive Accountability

Leadership Series 1: Are Leaders Born or Made? An In-Depth Discussion on Self-Doubt Within Leadership

Leadership Series 1: Are Leaders Born or Made? An In-Depth Discussion on Self-Doubt Within Leadership

The question of whether leaders are born or made has been debated and discussed for over 100 years, and our team takes it on from a perspective that many leaders often find themselves in at one point or another in their career: SELF-DOUBT.
"Am I good enough?" "Do I really have what it takes?"
Doubt can sabotage many leaders (and even stop potential leaders from taking that first step), and most of that doubt comes from the feeling that we might be lacking 'the thing' that makes leaders REALLY great.
This detailed discussion takes you on a journey: from the history of how we view and document great leaders to the theories that have evolved around it, moving into a comparison between the traits of introversion and extroversion and their impact on leadership, concluding with an exploration of 5 common scenarios that leaders find themselves in and how those personality traits can influence how they navigate them.
Don't let self-doubt diminish your leadership potential. Learn more about how YOU can become a great leader today!

The Most Important Leadership Lesson (That Most Leaders Don't Learn for Years... YES, YEARS!)

The Most Important Leadership Lesson (That Most Leaders Don't Learn for Years... YES, YEARS!)

Are you a new leader? Or consider yourself an 'emerging leader' who hopes to get that tap on the shoulder this year?

Maybe you are a leader who is currently struggling, who needs to really make a change to get back on track (in your own eyes or your boss's...)

In this episode, Ed and Carrie dig into the MOST IMPORTANT lesson that all leaders learn in their career (and it usually comes during a crappy review, or 'hard conversation' with your boss) but can take years to actually happen.... yes, YEARS : Your results aren't about YOU... they're about YOUR TEAM.

Sure, you might hear it occasionally, but most new or struggling leaders don't fully absorb it the first time it happens. True story.

We'd rather you start (or restart) your leadership career the RIGHT WAY. Learning this UP FRONT and with concrete actions behind that knowledge.

----->Carrie guides you through the what, why and how of maximizing your OWN RESULTS through your team by teaching you ONE SIMPLE EXERCISE: TEAM TALENT ANALYSIS.

Ed and Carrie show you a process that is just 3 simple steps. That's it. An easy, 'on the fly', adaptable and free-form exercise that keeps your perspective right and your focus where it needs to be: on how your team's success builds YOUR SUCCESS.

Don't wait to learn the lesson the hard way... have a listen and get ahead of the game (or back on track!)

Episode is also available on YouTube HERE for those who prefer to watch.

By redefining these two overly used (and often vaguely defined) words into terms all can understand, Carrie & Edward guide you through some why's and how's on implementing them and a way to help 'reset' you or your team in the new year.
