2019 Season - Week 11 - Sectional Game at Snider

For week 11, the Chargers defeated the Snider Panthers 42-31 in an epic sectional game at Spuller Stadium to advance to next week's Sectional Championship Game at Homestead. 2019 Season - Week 9 - Wayne

For week 9, the Chargers defeated the Wayne Generals 20-12 to finish the regular season with a 6-3 record. This week's player interview is senior running back, Evan Harris. The Chargers have a bye week, but return to action on November 1st when they travel to Spuller Stadium to taken on the Snider Panthers in the 1st round of 6A Sectional #3.

2019 Season - Week 8 - Concordia

For week 8, the Chargers travelled down Coliseum Blvd. to take on the Concordia Cadets at Zollner Stadium on a cold, windy, and rainy Friday night. The Chargers prevailed with a 16-0 win to improve to 5-3 on the season. This week's player interview is senior tight end, Eddie Bransfield.

Week 7 is rivalry week in the SAC and our yearly regular season matchup against the Homestead Spartans. The 2019 game can be summed up this way: Missed red zone opportunities by the Chargers, and multiple big plays by the Spartans. This week's player interview is senior linebacker, defensive lineman Matthew Ottenweller.

2019 Season - Week 6 - South Side

For week 6, the Chargers travelled to historic South Side High School to take on the Archers. Lightning and thunderstorms postponed the game to Saturday afternoon where the Chargers overcame a sloppy start to win 27-6 to improve to 4-2. Hear Coach Dinan's thoughts on the game against South Side and the upcoming week 7 game against Homestead. This week's player interview is senior co-captain, defensive lineman Maxton Green.

For week 5, the Chargers travelled to the brand new Shields Field on the Bishop Dwenger Saints. The Chargers came out on the short end of a 10-3 score, and have a season record of 3-2 as they head to South Side to take on the Archers in week 6. This week's player interview is senior co-captain, starting center Orion Chenery.

The 2019 Homecoming Week brought our FWCS neighbors just down the road, the Northrop Bruins. The Charger defense played stellar again in the 42-7 victory.

The Chargers suffered a tough 21-20 loss to the Panthers. The defense played outstanding, and the sophomore quarterback played like a veteran with nearly 400 yards of total offense. Layton Mitchell caught 3 touchdown passes, and Lincoln Lantz had 10 tackles. This week's player interview is senior co-captain and cornerback Ray Vollmer.

The Chargers started the 2019 season with a big win over Bishop Luers 42-0. The defense played outstanding, and the sophomore quarterback played well without throwing an interception. Charger Football Podcast 2018 - Bonus Episode - Developing Leaders

This episode is going to focus on the Carroll High school football team leadership program. The culture of of the football team is geared toward putting the team above yourself, holding your teammates accountable, and doing your job. Coach Dinan takes the mandate to build young men out of boys very seriously, and he makes it a focus in all that they do as coaches and players. Coach Dinan got his start in coaching at Snider High School, and he has learned much about molding young men from his friend and mentor, former Snider Head Football coach Russ Issacs.

The number one purpose of a high school education is to prepare young people to become contributing members of our society that go on to improve our community. High School athletics, the marching band, the show choir, and the speech team among others are an extension of the classroom, and an opportunity to help our children become the best that they can be. The X’s and O’s, the wins and the losses are important, but they aren’t end all and be all. In the case of high school football, it’s about helping young boys become future leaders in whatever field they move into.

Charger Football Podcast 2018 - Bonus Episode - Unified Flag Football

Unified Flag Football is an official IHSSA sport in a partnership with Champions Together and Special Olympics Indiana. The team consists of both special needs students and general education students competing together for the good of the team. It is the best thing that happens in interscholastic sports, and if you haven't watched a unified flag football game, you're missing out.

This special episode celebrates the Charger Unified Flag Football team and the sectional championship they won last weekend. This coming Saturday, the team will travel to Noblesville to take on the Millers in the regional. The winner of this game will be the favorite to win the state championship. Special guests for this episode is Carroll High School Athletic Director Dan Ginder, Unified Flag Football Coach Alan Bodenstein, and players Kevin Deatrick and AJ Macon. Listening to these four men will instill an appreciation of what Unified Sports are all about.
