Cars, wine and Roscoe

Is this our last episode ever? Time will tell. But we got to drink Rising Rivers Sauv Blanc and talk about the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. We also delve in to whether you should replace your good car or not, eight years on. It's an emotional time for Juliet. 

Jules is back from nappy duties! To celebrate, we take generous gulps of Neil Ellis Sauvignon Blanc and Zorgvliet's Silver Myn Rosé while waywardly discussing the new Suzuki Vitara Brezza. This week's listener question has us somewhat stumped: which used car would you buy for R70k? Our tips are helpful ... sort of. Happy listening!

We might not be able to buy wine, but that doesn't mean we aren't drinking lots of it. Just old stock, is all. We chat about the Mahindra Pik Up Karoo and Terence tries to throw us off with his advice question. Spoiler alert: we nail the tips this week. 

We kick off 2021 with Rascallion's 33 1/3 RPM...which took us by surprise. We discuss BMW's 4 Series Coupé as well as our holiday cars; the Kia Seltos CRDi and Terence's Gene. And we provide you with our very professional holiday car checks. It's all happening this year, people! 

We are full-blown celeb status now with wine being delivered to us, thank you Rascallion! We squeezed the Toyota Agya and Kia Rio in to this episode and discussed whether it's worth waiting for a facelifted car or buying now. Jam-packed is an understatement. 

We kick this off with Gabriëlskloof Sauvignon Blanc while chatting about the new Honda WR-V. We give sound advice to an avid fan (look at us now!) and give questionable tips to round things off. 

We celebrate our joint venture, Cars Uncorked, with a bottle of L'Ormarins Brut Classique...which Terence prematurely pops! We chat about the Audi A4 and Terence gives a listener hell for buying a Jeep Renegade 1.6...but with some golden advice to smooth things over. 

It's cause for celebration when we discover a lovely wine at a great price! This week, we indulge in Boschheuvel's 2019 rosé, an easy-drinking delight at a cost that won't raise an eyebrow. Talking about value for money, our car of the week is the new Seltos Diesel from one of our favourites, Kia, and we chat about what to consider when entering the classic car market.

We don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but this podcast is really picking up! It's as if the more wine we drink the more successful it is. We are ok with that. In this episode we drink Groote Post Seasalter and chat about the new Defender. We look at whether extended warranties are really worth it? And give you tips that no one needs. 

Cars, wine and Roscoe comes of age with our 21st episode! We celebrate with one of our favourite white wines – Springfield's flinty Life From Stone Sauvignon Blanc – and discuss a popular little pseudo-SUV, Suzuki's spunky Ignis. We also debate whether you should extend your car's maintenance plan and give customary bad tips of the week...

It is our 20th episode! Can you believe it? We can't. Terence celebrates with DeMorgenzon 2018 Pinot Noir and I don't have a clue which wine I am drinking, but does it really matter? We discuss the BMW X5 M50i. Terence chats about buying a car for R100 000 and the decision he made between the Subaru Forester and the Mini. Our tips are a shocker. 

It's been a while since we shared a bottle of wine. Fine, it was more than one bottle but who's counting? Let's just say many a bottle of Rickety Bridge Sauvignon Blanc 2019 was consumed. We discussed a favourite of Terence's, the Audi S6. And ol' Terry is also buying a car, for R100 000. We look at what he can get at this price point. And then the usual useless tips are dished out. 

The wine consumption is not slowing down! It's all about the Rose this week, Petit and Pink Pony. We argue about the Mini One, discuss new versus second hand (again), and Terence gives you his best cooking tip. It's a bit of a shit show, but you'll love it. Perhaps our most scrappy podcast thus far, but here we are. And Terence tries to convince me that nachos is an appropriate dinner for a guest, the guest being me!

DISCLAIMER: A lot of wine had been consumed prior to this recording. Nonetheless, we drank more Haut Espoir Rose and chatted about the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. We also discussed station wagons in SA and end with possibly our worst tips yet. 

It's all about Groote Post Sauvignon Blanc for me this week, and for Terence it's all about the Glen Carlou Pinot Noir Rosé. We chat about the lovely Citroën C5 Aircross. We delve into the Uber vs owning a car debate and we end off with a tip that, for once, actually means something. 

All I can tell you about this podcast is that there was much wine involved! I can also tell you that we speak about the new BMW 1 Series and Terence wearing spandex. How much of your salary should you spend on a car? We tell you. And, as always, we end it with life-changing tips. 

This week, day 5 million of lockdown, Terence is drinking Simonsig Sunbird Sauvignon Blanc while I sip on Fortes Sauvignon Blanc. We discuss the VW Golf GTI TCR as well as the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Turbo. What does the future of car shopping look like? We try figure that out. And we give you our useless tips of the week. 

I cannot believe we are still in lockdown! But thankfully still with enough wine to record this podcast. Terence has a lovely bottle of his Dad's Noble Hill Viognier and I drink Diemersfontein Chenin Blanc. We discuss the updated Toyota C-HR and Terence tell us what launch he is looking forward to after lockdown. Spoiler alert: It is the Volkswagen T-Roc. We chat about what we classify the strongest segment. And we end off with some more useless tips. 

It's another lockdown version of our infamous podcast. This week I chat about Vinologist syrah while Terence drinks brande'wyn.' He chats about the much anticipated Land Rover Defender while I chat about the updated Discovery Sport. We also talk about why buying down is not as hard as you think it is. And we end with some lockdown tips that probably won't help you that much at this point. 

We are in lockdown peeps!!! But we still managed to get together, virtually of course. Therefore the sound is not the best, we had to do this via Skype and as you already know, we are complete amateurs and so had no clue what we were doing. But we did it! This week I talk about Mulderbosh Chenin Blanc and Terence chats about a lekker Rooiberg Pinotage Rosé. We discuss the brand new Suzuki S-Presso seeing as both of us managed to drive it just before lockdown. We also contemplate which manufacturer makes the most comfortable seats. This week are drinking one of my old time favourites, Terra Del Capo Pinot Grigio, we chat about my trip to the USA and the cars spotted, we discuss the Kia Seltos, and we give advice to someone wanting to replace their Peugeot 206 Roland Garros.

I got my episodes mixed up, this should have been episode 1, but hey, we are new at this. We need to make a few mistakes.
