58. Psychosis to Medical Freedom (Book Review)
In this episode, I review the most recent book from Tom Woods. He's a great libertarian thinker, economic historian, and hosts one of the greatest podcasts available.
His most recent book, "Diary of a Psychosis" is a day-by-day journaling of the hysteria we experienced for almost 4 full years, from March 2020 to Fall of 2023. This is a baseball bat to the throat takedown of what the medical and political establishment did to us regardless of the data, practical solutions, and the freedoms and health they stole.
His daily emails were personally a point of sanity for me to read during that period of time even after the years I'd been reading his email newsletter on gaining freedom for my life.
And even in all that darkness, the hope of people coming together, speaking truth, and finding their own practical solutions exposes a path of freedom we can choose to follow.
For this reason, I hope you'll find your greater purpose or personal endeavor. I hope that you'll dare to create the freedom you want in your life.

I'm smack-dab in the middle of choosing a niche to drive my vehicle of success, so it's apt to finish out February's topic of "choice" on this episode.
I stress the reason to understand the purpose and motivation behind narrowing down what niche to grow an online marketing business. It helps to research profitable niches, strategies, market data, but we/I can succumb to analysis paralysis. These are important, but don't let a lack of knowledge stop you from starting down the path. I also encourage anyone getting started and growing within a niche to monetize right away.

51. What Choice Do You Have?
I remember listening to a preacher, Andy Stanley, with a lot of great books on leadership, entrepreneurship, relationships, prayer, and business…all within a Christian context. The excerpt that has always stuck with me if “Do we want to make the RIGHT choice or the WISE choice in any given situation”.
Certainly, there are wrong choices in our daily lives. There are right choices…there are also WISE choices. I’ve been going through an entrepreneurial journey lately with a new (new to me) online business program. For me, it’s been transformational and has helped me understand why other ventures didn’t pan out.
Today, I discuss how I’m orienting myself towards making wise choices in my physical life, my personal life, and my professional life. It’s started by taking the whole month of January to solidify my goals for 2024 and choose 1 BIG goal in each of those categories that mean the most to me. I’ve tried to set goals that change everything about me in the shortest amount of time possible. It is the right choice to become that person? Certainly, is the the wise choice to commit to the process in an achievable manner? Absolutely!

50. Making Tough Choices
Grant me the wisdom to know the difference of what I can change and what I can't.
Sometimes we have to make big, life-altering choices and it can be daunting to know which path to take. Just ask kids graduating high school or college, heck even deciding to go to college or not. Try a husband and wife going through a divorce, or leaving a career in the military. Sometimes we have pivotal moments, other times we are simply choosing better habits or falling into negative habits in the avoidance of something we fear. In both cases, we make decisions in the here and now, and we need a framework on how to make them.
In this episode, I talk about making touch choices and how to orient in lives towards a future-self we desire by using what we choose in the present to take the next step towards that ultimate goal.

48. Sobering Up From HOPIUM
We know that narcotics can be addictive and harmful. We know overeating certain foods over years can be just as harmful.
But what about our mental health and procrastination and shiny-object syndrome? What bad habits cause this. I would argue it is HOPIUM.
Not the good kind of Hope.
But that addictive tendency to think the next Instagram Reel, TikTok, or Youtube video is going to give us the answer of what we need to have in order to be successful.
In this episode, I talk about how we can sober up and innoculate ourselves from the grasp of HOPIUM. We need to get out of the addictive and destructive cycle we find ourselves in when it comes being entrepreneurs.

47. Becoming an Entrepreneur
What does it mean to be an entrepreneur?
Is an entrepreneur born or made?
We often want to HAVE things and DO things but we fail to appreciate the process and the necessary focal point: To Be!
I've come across the concept of BE-DO-HAVE again, and while I've heard it before, it now strikes deep into what I've been thinking about as I've planned what's in store for CFV in 2024. I've been constantly guilty of focusing on the Having and the Doing without embracing the constant state of Being or Becoming.
That's what this episode is about: the acceptance of Becoming. Embracing the Suck of being an entrepreneur.
Often, this process is not "fun". We are prioritizing this activity over many other things in our life. Sometimes those things don't need to be in our lives, and sometimes it's family time or small trips. For me, it's sacrificing a few hunting trips on the weekend this year to focus on what I need to do to accomplish my goals. The nightly TV or movies on the weekends, that's quite a bit easier to give up. Spending time with family. While I'm not giving this up, it means I have to find a way to prioritize and work around it.
At the end of the day, we shift our daily paradigm from HAVE-DO-BE to BE-DO-HAVE by changing our habits.
This episode explores the why and the how of that process.
46. Mission, Vision, and Goals for Cash Flow Veteran
As I've started the new year, instead of trying to rush my goal setting for the 2024 through the holiday season and before going back to work, I decided to work through a process to develop on my mission, vision, and goals a little bit every day with a deadline of 31 January.
Like a Stephen Covey says in his book, often we must sharpen our skills, like an axe, before we use them. If we spend more time on sharpening the axe, it makes the job of chopping down a tree much easier.
Like Einstein spoke about in asking the right questions, instead of trying to find the right answer.
This is what I've been doing to align my mission, vision, and goals of CFV with my life and where I want to go. I get into what I want to achieve in the next 10 years as a major life goal, but I took the time to break it down into my one year goals. This process helped me define my mission, vision, and goals for the year. I hope this episode about this process and what I've developed help you refine what you want for your life in 2024 and beyond.

36. A Pathway To Secede From the Military Medical System

Today, I talked with Layla about what it's been like building a business as a teenager! One of my favorite parts of the episode is our conversation about her job as a sales representative for a direct sales company selling knives, and what it is like getting into a sales job as an introvert!
We talk about how she got into Crocheting and why she turned a hobby into a business. We talked a little about her home school experience and what impact it had on her decision to start a business.
The biggest impact I got from our conversation: she has THE #1 GOAL at the forefront of her mind, and that's to become a surgeon. All that she is doing is in pursuit of that dream and how to make it a reality. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Andric about the Infinite Banking Concept (IBC) developed by R. Nelson Nash.
Andric teaches interested people who know there's something wrong with our current financial system AND that it has real impacts on everyday people. He's there to help them understand the how, why, and provide a solution to the problem.
For context, many military members look to stay in for a 20yr career which means they can retire and receive 50% of their previous pay starting immediately and maintain full medical coverage. They also have the option of investing through a 401k style vehicle (traditional/Roth) called TSP. In 2018, they created a blended system where they match 5% contributions and now only give 40% retirement pay at 20 yrs of service. Plus, through their career, the military jobs are consistently in demand with plenty of job security.
To me, talking entrepreneurship/IBC is a way to try to short-circuit the thought process and behavior of well-meaning people who believe they are doing the right thing by serving their country. Although, they do not realize that their employment is a contributing factor in the disintegration of our economy.
