Talk Data To Me (The Castlebridge Podcast)

It's been a while but the pace of work slowed enough in June for us to record a new episode of the Talk Data To Me Podcast.

In this episode Daragh, Carey, and Blessing discuss a range of topics from:

Back after an extended summer hiatus during which NOTHING happened in the world of #Data, #DataProtection, #Brexit, or #DataGovernance, Daragh is joined by Carey Lening, Eoin Cannon, and Katherine O'Keefe to talk about a range of topics.

In this episode of the Talk Data To Me Podcast, the Castlebridge team talk about the social project that is VACCINE CERTIFICATES.

We discuss the practical, ethical, legal, and fundamental data management issues that these proposed initiatives can raise. Key questions like:

2) What are the conditions for terminating the Tagging of the Jabbed?
3) What safeguards will be rolled out to prevent these technologies being used to discriminate against left handed ginger people?

Daragh is joined on this month's podcast by Andrew Carroll from the Office of the Data Protection Commission and the Castlebridge Children's Data Subject Matter Expert, Róisín.

We discuss the rights children have over their personal data, the DPC's consultation on Children's rights, and some practical things that kids can do to be aware of their data protection rights.

A key theme from our discussion is that, in turbulent times, it is important for organisations to get a handle on what data they have, where it is, and how they are using it. That requires a clear business strategy for navigating in turbulent times, an understanding of your data strategy and required data capabilities, and an appreciation of the impact of choices you will make in respect of the ethical challenges and opportunities in your business model.

We also touch on the opportunity for European businesses arising from the turbulence in cross border data transfers to step up and provide alternative technologies.

On the 1st anniversary episode of the podcast, and the 11th anniversary of Castlebridge starting as a business, Katherine and Daragh chat on this month's podcast about Data Governance. They explore:
