Her Story~My Story Wrap Up
Welcome to the wrap-up of our series, Her Story~My Story. Debbie, Linh, and Christine close this series with the two common themes woven into each story. These common themes are being in the Word daily and being in community with other women. Women from all walks of life shared their stories of a valley to allow all women to better understand their life stories in such a way as to navigate through their valleys. If you have not created your timeline, you are encouraged to do so. We can’t change the past, but we certainly can change what we do with it.
If you missed any Her Story Chats, you can access them through the Central Women Podcast or Central Women YouTube Channel as your schedule allows. Grab a cup of coffee, perhaps a friend, and lean into Jesus as you listen or watch other women's inspirational stories.
Thank you for joining this series; we will look for you in the fall.
Love in Christ,
Debbie, Linh, and Christine
Her Story~My Story Faith over Fear
TW Disclaimer: In this episode, we will discuss sensitive, real-life issues that some women experience. Please be mindful of where, when, and with whom you are listening.
In this episode, Christine walks us through the challenging time when she faced a crossroads of faith or fear when her husband got COVID-19. Amid a month-long stay in the ICU, she chose faith and trusted the Lord to bring her husband through it all. And how, through this decision, she drew closer to God by deliberately using Romans 12:2, “ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will." Christine chose to renew her mind with God’s promises several times throughout the day, which equipped her with faith and not fear. God provided her with an amazing young man who guided her in managing her husband's care since she was not able to visit him in the hospital. And friends who prayed and went the extra mile. By God's grace, mercy, and love, she embraced the journey (unloading the bricks in her backpack) and was filled with faith and hope for a full recovery for her husband.
No matter what challenges we face, we can turn them over to the Lord, and we have control over how we use them to move forward and live life to the full in the way God intended us to, as stated in John 10:10.
Please join us with maybe a cup of coffee and perhaps a friend. Daily, we need to lean into Jesus to guide us through life. And as we all know, women need women.

Introducing The Series: Studying the Names of God
Welcome to Season 2 of The Central Women Podcast!
We are kicking off this season by introducing you to The Series: Studying the Names of God!
We all know this rhythm when meeting someone for the first time and it gives us the first glimpse of insight into who they are. But really… what’s in a name?
Names across the majority of the world’s cultures have deeper meanings. In fact in many places your name is a way you trace your lineage. It speaks of the character of your family, and yourself. This is evident all over scripture but if we take a deeper look into the Word of God we see the many names of the Lord as well, that give us a glimpse into who our God is.
Join Central Women starting May 8, 2022 as we dive into a 10 week study on the names of God.
How does this work:
- Gather your friends. Invite them in on this journey with you.
- Every Sunday go to the Central Women Blog and read about this week’s name of God.
- Every Tuesday tune into the Central Women Podcast for deeper community conversations.
- Every Thursday check out the Central Women YouTube channel for a video devotion.
- Grow in your love for the Lord and share that with us on social media.
Exploring the meaning of each name and what scripture has to say about it for the next 10 weeks, our prayer is that it will not only reveal the many amazing facets of our awesome God to you, but you would love Him in deeper ways than you could have ever imagined.
Let’s get ready to see what’s in a name!
The Discovery Bible Study Method
On today's podcast Keely and Jenniemarie talk about how to use the Discovery Bible Study Method to read your Bible.
Using verse Mark 4:35 - 41 they demonstrate this method using the following steps:
- Acknowledge one praise from your week.
- Acknowledge one thing that is stressing you out or you need prayer for the week.
- Read the passage twice from different versions.
- Ask the question: What does this tell me about God? about His character?
- Ask the question: What does this tell me about man or humans?
- How is this going to change how you do things this week and who are you going to share this passage with this week?
You can learn about this study method at https://www.dbsguide.org/
The Rhythm of Prayer
