Providing for the Prophet from the Prosperity of the Promise

Providing for the Prophet from the Prosperity of the Promise

In this third message in our sermon series on Elijah, we see Elijah being provided for by the widow of Zarephath. Found in 1 Kings 17: 7-16, Elijah is taken care of by an unlikely hero, a destitute widow, about to die, a foreigner, in a foreign land. We see here that God is more than able to include, speak to and use those who we might consider outsiders or those who think they have little to give or contribute. Not only this but it reveals God’s grace extends far wider than we often imagine, to unnamed widows, perhaps not Christians, in foreign lands. May this message be an encouragement to you that God can use you and reveal more of God’s love and grace to others.

Making Sense of the Valley of Separation

Making Sense of the Valley of Separation

In this second message of our Elijah series, we see God’s prophet move from being at the pinnacle of his career, in the seat of power to being isolated in the ‘Valley of Separation’. Often we see these times in our lives as unnecessary and unproductive and yet perhaps these times are opportunities to be shaped and prepared for what lies ahead. May this message be a real encouragement and blessing to you as you listen

Signpost: Security & Salvation

Signpost: Security & Salvation

We've started a new series looking at the life of the prophet Elijah. On this first part of the message, we will look at Elijah's identity, and how he became the man brave enough to stand up to King Ahab, perhaps the most wicked ruler of his day, and declare God's curse on the nation. Maybe you think Elijah's a big man of faith, and you don't have anything in common with him. Well, listen in and you might realise that you have more in common with Elijah than you think.

What exactly does it mean for us to wait at base camp? and how do we know when we are mountain ready? What are the signs that we are suffering from altitude sickness? Listen and find out why we are destined for the top of the Everest that God put before us and how he has equipped us to reach it.

Seeing with Clarity in 2020

In this first message of 2020, Pastor Michael shares an anointed passionate message on the necessity of having a clear vision, exploring how prophetic sight is given through the baptism of the Holy Spirit, foretold in Joel’s promise of dreams, visions and prophecy, and fulfilled at the day of Pentecost. Jesus, on the road to Emmaus walked with two disciples, who had eyes but did not 'see' him until he revealed his identity to them.  This message looks to the Lord to open our eyes so that time will not be wasted and we will have a sharp, effective edge to serve the Lord.

The Who, Why, & How of Sharing Jesus

The Who, Why, & How of Sharing Jesus

Why is it that we have made our commission to share our faith in Jesus so complicated and downright scary that so many of us simply don't attempt it? Sharing our faith was never meant to feel so our of reach, but just a matter of pointing people to Jesus our where he can be found. May this be an encouragement to you to share your faith in Christ where you are.

#doyouknowHim: I am the way, and the truth, and the life

#doyouknowHim: I am the way, and the truth, and the life

On Sunday, we started our #doyouknowHimn series across Skipton, an outreach where all the churches across the town follow the same preaching series but delivered in our own style. How amazing is that?

In this series, we will be looking at the 7 "I am" sayings in John and Nick Smith kicks this off with John 14:46, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life".

This is such a well known saying that it would be so easy to switch off, but don't, it's really great to be reminded of what Jesus was saying and what that means, whether is is real for you today, or you have never heard it before. #truth #Godsplan #lifebringers
