E61: The Weekly Walk Vol. 13
Hello bibigo!  You may not know this but in between all the bibigo commercials, there was some damn good golf being played. AND... at one of the most prestigious golf courses in the world! We'll get to Shadow Creek later on in the show but for this episode of The Weekly Walk, Jeremy, Joe, and Matt treated themselves to some damn good frozen Korean food.  Rat Farts This segment could have gone on for a while. I had a major Phopah last week and ended our consecutive error-free show streak. Other than that, and a few other minor mishaps, we did find out that Taylor Montgomery and Jack Trent, both UNLV Rebels, have BOTH shot 62's out there. There are a ton of publications who got that wrong and we also missed it.  What happened this past week? We covered Matt's round out at TPC Summerlin with Patrick Gibbs. He tried to replicate Martin Lairds incredible up and down from the right rough on the 17th, failing miserably. The CJ Cup wrap up was in full effect. Results from our picks. The FedEx Cup update and the OWGR Update. Phil goes 2 for 2 on the PGA Tour Champions Joe and Jeremy played out at Chimera. Look for a new episode of Just The Tip to hit YouTube Wednesday. What's happening this week? On the PGA Tour - ZOZO Championship at Sherwood PGA Tour Champions - Idle until 10/30 On the PGA Tour Korn Ferry - Season has concluded LPGA - Drive On Championship - Reynolds Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA Look at this Instagram This week we took a look at three more Instagram accounts we enjoy and want to spotlight  Joe: @golficers Jeremy: @lvpaiutegolf Matt: @seamusgolf Vegas Golf Spotlight - Viva Las Vegas The best par 3's in Las Vegas (or surrounding areas) Fall Overseeding Season has concluded, we chime in with our thoughts so far. Yet another milestone. I know, I know. Get over ourselves. I'm not sure why, but for some reason, No. 60 feels important.  This episode was jam-packed with all kinds of goodness.  The Shriners was this past weekend, and coming up this weekend, out at Shadow Creek is the CJ Cup. So, this episode is loaded with Vegas golf talk along with all the other items we cover in The Weekly Walk. For Look at this Instagram, the picks this week were:  Joe: @birdsofcondor Jeremy: @jonathanrwall Matt: @reveregolfclub For our locks of the week, I've enlisted a standings page that we're going to update weekly to see, at the end of the season (20/21), who is the best at picking winners for the PGA TOUR.  As always, a huge shout out to Good Walk Coffee Co for their ongoing support of this show! PLEASE WELCOME "STAT GUY" Jeremy Martin to The Chasing Daylight Podcast!! Jeremy is a recent transplant from Utah, and so far has found out why Joe and I love Las Vegas and the Vegas golf scene. An avid golfer with some serious skills, we welcome him on board to be another co-host to the show and provide us with UP TO THE MINUTE stats as we work through the Weekly Walk episodes. In this episode, we cover last week's Payne Valley Cup, and we briefly hit on last weekend PGA event. There's a little talk about the OWGR and the FedEx Cup standings in this early season. Mitch's Revenge was a topic of discussion, as the three of us took part in the annual event out at Coyote Springs, and there is a new, or the debut, episode of Just The Tip with Stephen Noland on the Breakfast Ball YouTube Channel. Be sure to check that out. We hit the talking points about the events coming up this weekend on all the tours. E55: The Weekly Walk Vol. 9
What a US Open it was! Bryson DeChambeau was dominant at a course that required all the skills in the game to be on point for all four days. Of course, this brought out all the critics about the length of some golfers and what the USGA needs to do to ruin the game even further.  We touched on the Open of course and some of the other items that slid under the radar and maybe one the did anything but that. - Patrick Reed - Rickie Fowler - Harris English RAT FARTS was just some clarifications as we had a pretty clean show LOOK AT THIS INSTAGRAM segment this week offers a look at some great accounts we think you should be following And we wrapped it up with some talk about this week's tourney and what we'll be up to this weekend! Thanks for tuning in and please go show some love for our sponsor Good Walk Coffee Co.

E54: The Weekly Walk Vol 8
What a fun episode this was. We had an in-studio guest, Andy Bednard, who is the Las Vegas Travis Mathew rep. He sat in with us as we went through our weekly routine. This week we covered the US Open, of course, the controversy at the LPGA ANA Inspirational and how Stewart Cink ruined another life-changing event for Joe. The Look at this Instagram segment was in there with some good accounts, including a shout out to Cuater. The Vegas segment was a lot about Travis Mathew and Cuater, and what we can expect to see from them in the coming months, along with some questions for Andy. I hope you enjoy We also covered the odd for this week's US Open and had our locks! E53: Fury Golf CEO Ted Kritikos
What an absolute pleasure it was to interview Ted from Fury Golf. It's one of the aspects I love about this podcast. Not only do Joe and I get together every week and shoot the shit about golf, but we also get to conduct interviews with some fascinating and incredible people. Fury Golf is a Rock N Roll inspired golf apparel brand. What exactly is that? Well, you're just going to have to listen. But, if you're a fan of great rock n roll music and have a passion for golf, I think Fury Golf is a brand you're going to enjoy. Based in Long Island, NY, Fury Golf is quickly making a name for themselves in the space. They have an excellent following on their social channels, and I think the content they are releasing is solid! It's not your typical "Hey, check out this shirt!" The same goes for their website. It's more than just a place to shop for some cool swag. The published articles on the blog are excellent and will resonate with golf fans as well as music fans. So after listening in on this episode, head on over the www.furygolf.com and check them out!

HOLY CRAP! Episode 50 is here! So excited that we've made it this far with the show. The rumors are always that a new podcast starts strong, peaks, and then either the hosts or the listeners tire of the content! Well, WE'RE STILL HERE and we're growing! The stats don't lie and we cannot thank you enough!  This was a fun episode. We talked a lot about DJ and his crazy win at the Northern Trust. E45: The Weekly Walk Vol. 1
A new era has begun with The Chasing Daylight Podcast! I welcomed in a new co-host, Joe, from @hittingreens. We're starting a weekly show we're tentatively calling The Weekly Walk, where we discuss whats going on in the world of golf either from our escapades or things like the PGA Tour, World Ling Drive, PGA Shows, and wagering. In this first episode of The Weekly Walk, we talk about the 3M Championship, the upcoming WGC Event at TPC Southwind, our outing at Primm Valley GC as well as the SNGA Social Series we attended. Also, we introduced a new segment, where we each spotlight an Instagram account we'ver either found or have been a fan of for a while. This week it was @golfballgallery for Joe and Matt showcased @thewinstoncollection We wrapped things up with some love for our show sponsor, Good Walk Coffee Co, and talked about some upcoming interviews we'll be soon releasing. E44: The Lost Hardenbrook Tape
This recording was lost. I looked everywhere for it, and I was devastated that it never made it to the airwaves. You'll find out why as you listen.  But what was once lost has now been found! Ryan and I recorded this final sitdown with the two of us the day after they canceled The Players. COVID was still a relatively "new" thing, and none of us had any idea what was really in store for the game of golf or the world for that much. Remember that as you listen. There are some typical "HOT TAKES" and "TRUTH BOMBS" you all have come to love, but much like the beginnings of this show, we just sat back and chatted golf. Sit back and relax and enjoy Ryan's last appearance on the Chasing Daylight Podcast as a host!

E43: A Bad Play Rant
It happens to us all, even the guys who get paid millions of dollars. A lousy round is inevitable, and mine showed up yesterday when I least expected it. However, some good came out of, and I'd love to hear what you all think. Chime in with a comment if you understand where I'm coming from in this solo rant, and let's see if together we can make the game more enjoyable for everyone!

E42: Brian Oar, Golf Course Photographer
This was an absolute joy for me. As a former freelance photographer, the world of photography has a special place in my heart. What Brian and a lot of the other popular photographers are doing now, especially in the golf realm is unreal. Brian has a unique eye and I've been a fan of his for a while. It was a pleasure to chat with him for nearly an hour and a half and learn more about his journey and where he's going in the future! Pop open a cold one and kick back for this one unless you're driving! As I said, it's a long one, but I think you'll heavily enjoy what he has to offer in this episode as much as I did! Be sure to check out Brians website!

E39: My interview with the Bandon Solstice Podcast
This is a different one for us. I was asked to be interviewed on the Bandon Solstice Podcast. Mike Stashak is the host of that show, and he and I had a great conversation about last year's solstice event. The planning, the preparation, the actual participation. It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed reliving the experience. I asked Mike if I could put the audio up on this podcast to share it with our listeners as well, and he was happy to share the file. This audio is from HIS show. If you like what you heard and want more information about The Bandon Solstice Podcast, be sure to visit the links I've provided below. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy it! E38: Round Table Golf Talk with Doc and Ava
It's been a while since we've had a good round table golf sit down. I love talking golf just as much as the next guy, or gal! So when Doc (David Rhoden) offered to come and hang out at the casa and chat some golf, I jumped at the opportunity. Even better was the fact he had with him his amazing girlfriend, Ava. Ava is an aspiring golfer that has some serious talent. She's getting back to competition golf, and with the recent news that Doc is leaving Las Vegas, and Club Champion, and is heading back to the Phoenix valley with Ava, her support team just got a massive boost. Ladies, if you like having your side of the golf game talked about, this one is for you. Ava has some incredible insight into the women's game, and it was an absolute blast having her on the show. Doc as well, haha! Thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy this episode, it was a lot of fun, and I think Ava is going to have to be a regular guest! David Rohden aka "Doc": @dr.rhoden Ava Lourenco: @ava_lourenco Thanks again for all the support from these two! Doc will be missed tremendously, and he's a massive part of the reason why I decided to get into club building. His knowledge is remarkable, and I'm honored to be his friend. It looks like some Phoenix trips are certainly in my future! The Chasing Daylight Podcast is brought to you by The Good Walk Coffee Co.

E37: Karen and Nick Lesnau from All In Golfing Co.
When I came across the Instagram page for Karen and Nick's brand, the first thing that stood out to me was the fact they're Vegas-based. Finally, I had found a company here in the Vegas Valley that was doing something creative in the golf space. Thankfully, the products they are creating heavily out weights the fact there Southern Nevada based. I've met with these young entrepreneurs a few times since we first connected, and let me tell you, they are impressive. They are taking their time and doing what it takes to ensure a high-quality product while staying focused on new ideas and designs. It's only been a few weeks since we've been communicating back and forth, but I feel like I've known them for years, they are great people, and it was a blast having them on the show! I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did recording it.  I firmly believe Karen and Nick are on their way to being stars in the golf industry, and it was an honor to have them on the podcats. E31: Lindsay Burkhart from UST Mamiya
I've been with the Ambassador program with UST Mamiya for over a year now, and like I say in this interview, MAN, I'm impressed with the results I'm seeing. Lindsay, who is the Social Media Marketing Manager for UST, was kind enough to hop on the phone and talk a little bit about her history and how she came to work for UST Mamiya. Then we got into a whole lot of talk about golf shafts! New products such as LIN•Q Purple and Gunmetal. We talked about their flagship product line the RECOIL Shafts and we got an update on the Frequency Putter shafts. As a Golf Nerd, I enjoyed this interview very much. I am starting to become more enveloped in the tech side of the game and having a guest like Lindsay on who's not only very passionate about the game and her career but she probably the first certified female golf nerd we've had on the show! She knows her stuff, and it was a blast to learn more about UST and her background. We hope you enjoy this episode and be sure to give UST a follow on their Instagram Account The Chasing Daylight Podcast is brought to you by Good Walk Coffee Company.

First off I want to say we fixed the audio issues from the first episode. Hopefully, the poor sound hasn't detoured you from tuning in to part two of this series where we rank the Las Vegas Golf Courses. Originally this was going to be a 3 part series, but after going through the editing there was just so much good talk between Joe and me that I didn't want to take much of it out. So, this episode takes care of the rankings from #37 to #24. Here's the list: #37 Bai Hai (60.0) #36 Angel Park - Palm (61.5) #35 Angel Parl - Mountain (62.5) #34 Highland Falls (64.0) #33 Spanish Trails Country Club (64.0) #32 Rhodes Ranch (64.5) #31 Stallion Mountain (66.0) #30 Wildhorse (66.5) #29 Desert Pines (69.0) #28 Bears Best (71.0) #27 Legacy Golf Club (71.5) #26 Siena Golf Club (71.5) #25 Wolf Creek (71.5) #24 Las Vegas National (73.0) - continues in the next episode  We'll pick it back up in the next episode where this one left off before we knock out the final Top 15 Courses in the final episodes of this series.  So what was meant to be 3 episodes has turned into 4. We think you'll enjoy how it all ends up. Be sure to visit the Podcast sponsor, Good Walk Coffee Company

Ranking Las Vegas Golf Courses Part 1 of 4
The Chasing Daylight Podcast is brought to you by Good Walk Coffee Company About 6-8 months ago, I noticed a considerable uptick in visits to my Vegas Golf Ranking page on the website. Ever since then, it's been by far the most popular page on The Breakfast Ball. I update it enough that it stays valid, but it had me thinking about recording a show in regards to the same topic. I reached out to Joe from HittinGreens about recording the show with me, and he thought it was a great idea as well. We did this on a points system and then averaged our two rankings out for a final number. The points breakdown like this: GOLF COURSE: Design - 15pts Practice Facility - 15pts Course Conditions - 15pts Atmosphere - 10pts Total points possible on the GOLF COURSE section is: 55pts OTHER FACTORS: Pro Shop - 15pts Staff - 10pts Price - 20pts Total points on the OTHER FACTORS section is: 45pts For a grand total of 100pts We wanted the main ranking to be based on the golf course, and that is why there is a higher value of points available. But, we also know other key factors that go into choosing where to play. Price, for instance, is a MAJOR element in deciding if you'll tee it up or not, and that is why it has the point value it does, but it doesn't exceed the golf course total value. Here is a list of the courses we talk about in this episode with the ranking number: #53 Las Vegas Golf Center (29.5) #52 Painted Desert (33.5) #51 Durango Hills (41.0) #50 Sunrise Vista (47.0) #49 North Las Vegas Par 3 (48.0) #48 Aliante Golf Club (48.0) #47 Boulder City Muni (49.0) #46 Palm Valley (53.5) #45 Los Prados (54.0) #44 Las Vegas Golf Club (56.5) #43 Arroyo Golf Club (56.5) #42 Desert Willow (57.0) #41 Eagle Crest (58.0) #40 The Club at Sunrise (58.5) #39 Canyon Gate Country Club (59.0) #38 Angel Park - Cloud 9 (59.5) We hope you enjoy this episode and be sure to leave us on comment on the @hittingreens Instagram page or also on @thebreakfastballgolfblog page. E26: Master Club Fitter Jordan Bloxham
We love it when our friends from Utah venture south and visit us. Not only did we get to spend a beautiful Vegas February day out at Paiute with Jordan Bloxham, but he was also kind enough to make the trek out the BBGB Casa and come hang out with Ryan and me for this episode. Jordan is a Master Club Fitter at Impact Golf Center in Draper, Utah. It's an indoor training facility that is incredible. We talked a lot about golf and covered some of the current events taking place like the "Distance Issue" from the USGA and RNA and also answered a few questions from the Instagram post I made a few days ago. Jordan is a stand-up human being and quite a stick. We grateful he took the time to chat with us and showcase his love and knowledge for the game. E24: Stephen Noland joins us to talk about Matt's swing changes.
Swing changes are a bitch. There's no bigger truth than that! Personally I've gone through too many and I swore after the last time I started from scratch I was done with them. Then I met Stephen.  Know as @Stavi_1.0 on Instagram, Stephen has taken me under his wing and together we have logged numerous hours via FaceTime in an attempt to better my golf game. So far, it's working. I've been talking Stavi up for months now and I thought it would be a good time to talk about what we've been up to. With a lot of the country soon to be lifted from the cold weather and allowed to venture out on to our heavenly fairways, I figured a conversation about what we've done to better my game might help some other to seek the advice of a teaching pro as I have. We hope you enjoy what Stephen has to say, he's incredibly talented when it comes to the golf swing and he's quite the stick himself. I believe he won 8 times last year on the AM Tour and also took home Player of the Year honors.  Thanks for listening! -Matt • The Chasing Daylight Podcast is brought to you by the Good Walk Coffee Company

E23: @ys.golf, Yohan Seo, joins us for some golf talk
It's one of the best things I've enjoyed about this podcast, meeting new people. Ryan and Yohan have been friends for a while, and Yo made a trip out West for some PGA Tour action and some Vegas golf. We sat down with Yo and @dr.rhoden before our Super Sunday tee time at the Las Vegas Country Club, and I got to see first hand the beautiful mind of someone obsessed with the game like Ryan, and I are, it was a blast. You can follow Yo on Instagram @ys.golf is his IG handle. We hope you enjoy this short cast. We plan to have Yo on again very shortly to wrap up his golf life and share some outstanding stories as well. Thanks for listening! And, thank you to our Podcast Sponsor: Good Walk Coffee Company.

E22: Athalonz Shoes Founder Tim Markison
What a fun episode this was to record. I was joined by the CEO and Founder, Tim Markison, along with his Director of Operations, Jerimiah Johnston, to talk shoes. More importantly, their shoe brand, Athalonz. Athalonz has made a name for themselves in the sport of Long Driving, and they are looking to take the popularity and success of the WLD Tour and bring their tech to more golfers. Tim and Jerimiah took some time out of the schedule, to which we are grateful, to talk about; • How the company came to be • How the long drivers found out about their shoes, and • What the future looks like for Athalonz. It might help that they just inked Champions Tour superstar and overall golf legend Bernhard Langer to a contract! Be sure to check out Athalonz Shoes Please visit the Athalonz WEBSITE to read more about their shoes and be on the lookout for our review coming soon on The Breakfast Ball.

E21: Quick Pod about the recent changes
You have to go through some changes to grow, and that is what we are doing. Two significant changes have taken place over the last 48hrs, and I just wanted to bring everyone up to date on what is going on within the show. The first thing we did was to move the podcasting host over to Anchor. The changeover was a stressful situation, much like moving a website to a new host, but let me tell you I'm thrilled with what Anchor is going to be able to do for the show. I like to give a massive shout out to BryanGolf for helping me understand the benefits of the hosting relocation. The other thing we did was eliminate the social media channels, except for Facebook, for the show. There was just too much on my plate as far as the social media sites go, and if I'm honest, this is a production that falls under The Breakfast Ball umbrella. So we will be posting all the similar content that was on the Twitter and Instagram accounts, over on the Breakfast Ball social pages. Other than that, nothing has changed. We've upgraded some equipment, and we'll now be able to bring you a better product, and hopefully, that will add to the growth of the show! All the episodes we have recorded are available where you've listened to them in the past, and we've added I think five other formats where you can listen to the show. Thanks again for listening, we love what we're doing with the show and cannot wait to bring you all more content in 2020! Now, please visit Good Walk Coffee Co and grab yourself some Java!!

E20: Golf Chat from the Mercedes-Benz Studio
We're testing out some new features for the podcast. We've moved the hosting over to Anchor, and with a lot more accessibility to produce some content, we hope to have more episodes produced and at a faster rate. For this short episode, Ryan and I chatted for a brief car ride as I took him to the airport. We chatted about the upcoming season, we made some Major predictions and we, very briefly, talked about some of the new equipment that's starting to hit the shelves.

Like the title says, the conversation with Bryan, Me, Ryan, Julien, David, and Joe continues. I can't thank Bryan enough for joining us. It's awesome to get together with people who are incredibly passionate about the industry, and who are doing their part to make the game of golf more enjoyable for others who play this game. We hope you enjoyed this sit down with him and our other guests. We'll have more with Bryan and hopefully his counterpart once they return to the Vegas Valley in late April for the Battle at The Bay! E19P1: BryanGolf joins us for sit down
We were graced with the presence of the wildly entertaining BryanGolf aka Bryan LaRoche. Bryan was in town to preview Reflection Bay for the upcoming Steez & Teez event; Battle at the Bay. Bryan was kind enough to come over to the BBGB Casa and hang out with Me, Ryan, the CC Boyz; Julien and David, and we were also joined by Joe from the Instagram account HittinGreens who made his podcast debut. As expected this sit down went WAY longer than expected and we recorded for nearly two and a half hours. I've broken it up into several episodes so where this one falls off the next one will pick right back up. We hope you enjoy.

E18: James Kurtenbach from Carbon Putters
Carbon Putters James Kurtenbach, one of the members of the family-owned and operated business that is Carbon Putters, chilled with us for a while on Instagram Live while we recorded for this episode. Based in Colorado, Carbon has had a wild ride since its inception into the boutique putter industry. From crafting some of the most interesting custom made flagsticks, to winning the award of Most Wanted Blade putter from MyGolfSpy. The journey for Carbon has been one not many would want yet; on the other hand, they all crave at the same time. With the growth and demand for their putters, the vision for the future has changed. We’re excited to see what that brings. With a focus more on production than custom, Carbon Putters is looking to make their brand a more dominate name. And go far beyond the label of a boutique brand.      View this post on Instagram   A post shared by The Breakfast Ball (@thebreakfastballgolfblog) on Dec 7, 2019 at 9:16am PST Links for this episode  The best phrase we heard from this episode, other than James’s favorite color being purple, was this;  "Convict of Comparison"  Let that one settle in for a few. The Tiny Roundish Table Part 2 The roundish table talk continues in part two of our sitdown with David and Julien from Club Champion Las Vegas. We have so much to talk about with these guys it was seriously hard to contain it to just two hours. Had the recorder been going the entire time it could have easily been four hours of golf chat. You’re Welcome. E16: David & Julien From Club Champion Vegas
Episode 16 – The Tiny Roundish Table We welcome to the podcast and the tiny rectangular table, David Rhoden and Julien Munoz from Club Champion Las Vegas. These two gentlemen work alongside each other for eight hours a day and have a fantastic friendship. You would think after spending that much time together and being so involved in the game of golf, sitting down to chat golf after-hours would be a deal-breaker. Lucky for us, they are just as passionate outside te fitting bays as they are inside them. Before we knew it, almost three hours of banter and hijinks had gone by in what seemed like minutes. We absolutely loved having David and Julien sit down with us. Their insight into the industry and the fitting world is so valuable and we plan on having them on again, as you’ll be able to tell, it was too much fun. They both have a great story on how they got into the industry and where they want to go from here. And, they are both solid, and I mean SOLID sticks! If you’re thinking it’s time to get fit to improve your game then you should certainly reach out to either David or Julien through the links below and get it set up. E15: PGA Professional Cyrus Janssen
Episode 15: PGA Professional Cyrus Janssen In this episode, the former golf head professional from Sheshan Golf Club in Singapore, China (home to this week’s WGC HSBC Event)  joins us for some outstanding golf conversations! Cyrus Janssen, or more notably known in the Instagram world as @cyruspga, has some incredible insight into golf in China. He also just so happens to be the front runner for the nicest human on the planet award. Cyrus has become friends with us over on the blog, and we’ve even tee’d it up in one of his most recent stays in Vegas. Hailing from Vancouver, Britsh Columbia, our friendly Candian neighbor to the North, has some incredible insight into the global world of golf. After spending ten years in China, he now calls Canada his home and is growing his legacy as an entrepreneur bringing business from the two sides of the world together. Sheshan Golf Club The majority of our conversation dealt with his time in China. At the young age of 25, Cyrus Janssen became the Head Pro at Sheshan, and it’s a fantastic story. E14: Vegas PGA Show & The Tour Championship
Episode 14:  Vegas PGA Show We didn’t get a chance to talk about the Vegas PGA Show since it happened, so before we dived into the Tour Championship banter, we covered a little bit about the show. What it is, what it isn’t, and how we feel about the event. There’s room for growth and Ryan had a fantastic idea to help get the unique, and smaller boutique brands involved. The Tour Championship Honestly, this could have been the entire episode. There is some much debate going on about the new format, and we wanted to have our opinions voice. Hence this episode. There are a ton of reactions from a lot of people out there, and we were fortunate enough to have two of the more prominent names in social media chime in with their own opinions. @PGAMemes and @Bryangolf both left us a voice mail (702-518-1864 USE IT!), and we listened, then talked about their views on how the Tour Championship could be better and if it should be better. For me, it’s all about Match Play for the finals. Ryan agrees, and so do a lot of other people. Ryan and I both want to thank Travis and Brian for calling in and being a part of the show. We love it when people call in, so keep those messages coming. The President Cup Not much to talk about here but we did bring it up since it is the biggest event on the future calendar of golf. Ryan’s Easter Eggs Hold up!! I’m taking over this week. As a show of appreciation, we are giving away one of the new Chasing Daylight T-Shirts you can find on The Breakfast Ball WEBSITE. E13: PGA Show Interviews from Vegas
Episode 13, PGA Show Interviews from Las Vegas This was fun, so much more than I thought it would be. I was a little nervous about how the audio would come out, but that’s is why you invest, heavily at times, in solid equipment! PGA Show, Vegas Style Every year in mid-August the PGA Show spends a couple of days here in Vegas. There’s been an evolution of this show and I feel like it is still trying to find its place in the industry. However, Sherry Major and her team are making great strides to have this show be something to attract buyers and sellers from all over. The fashion shoe at TAO nightclub I heard was amazing and I will not miss it next year, and the Demo night at TopGolf was the best it’s been in the three years it has been held there. I’m still not a fan of the balls you have to hit but, it is what it is. We had a blast walking the floor of the show at the Venitian and at the last minute, I decided to grab our audio recorder and bring it along. I’m so grateful I did. The audio came out great and we got some great content from several of our favorite brands. E12: Rohrs from Strokes Gained Putters
Neal “Rohrs” Rohrbach joins Matt and Ryan for some golf chat One thing I knew we were going to love about this podcast was when our friends get to join us. I consider Neal to be one of my closest friends, and it was a blast to have him on the show. You may recall, if you follow the blog, Neal has had one hell of a year. Back in February, we published an article that Neal had written [Strokes Gained; The Story of My Iceberg] and it was meet with tremendous support. Now, however, Neal is back on track and firing up the machines once again. As he gets back to doing what he loves, some much, we honored, he took some time to chat with us. Making Putters and putting smiles on the faces of his customers In this episode, we learned something that was a complete surprise to both of us. Neal started Strokes Gained to fill the void Cameron left behind when he stopped using Carbon Steel. There was a significant enough demand from golfers who still love the soft feel, and the custom finishings. Neal was eager to fill their needs. Take those wants and desires and place them with Neals passion and history in the industry, and you have a winning combination. It was a blast getting Rohrs on the phone and let him let it loose on the golf industry. Giving him a format to drop quotes like: “You know I’m gaming an EvnRoll” made the entire interview priceless. E11: John from Ampcaddy
The Ampcaddy Bluetooth Speaker We are all familiar with the popular trend happening in the golf world. Music on the course. While some find it utterly obtrusive and unacceptable, there is a growing number of golfers who love the concept of music on the course. Please don’t think we are advocating the jerks out there who blast the music disrupting everyone around them. There’s a level of civility that needs to be maintained if you enjoy playing your music playlist while golfing. For the most part, the people we have encountered who play music have been respectful and understand this trend is something that needs to be cared for as it matures. You’re not going to change the golfing world by being a pompous ass and forcing your way into the game. Meet John, the man behind the birth of Ampcaddy John has a great story of how he came to be a player in this music on the course niche. In this episode, John joined Matt for some candid behind the scenes information on how Ampcaddy started, and what the future holds for them. Music on the course is a love it or hate it type of experience. John has some fantastic insight into the golf speaker space. He shared with us how he got started with Ampcaddy, his background with golf, and why he has the knowledge to grow this business. With the good, there comes some bad Unfortunately, there was some lousy press thrown in the direction of Ampcaddy. We thought it would be an excellent opportunity for John to share his thoughts on what happened with MyGolfSpy. We let him explain why he feels they could be doing so much more with the platform they have. If you’re looking for a hate speech on why MyGolfSpy is an awful company, don’t listen. John is very respectful and made it clear he has more things to concern himself with than some social media posts. He has a reputable company that is producing a fantastic product that is only getting better with time. When you take into consideration his background in golf and the audio industry, we hope you’ll get a better understanding of how poor a decision it was for MyGolfSpy to attack them. E10: PGA Memes creator Travis
Episode 10, The hilarious PGA Memes We did it! Our first milestone for the Chasing Daylight Podcast, our tenth episode. What a better way to toast this occasion than having one of the hottest Instagram Golf Accounts join us for an interview. Travis, the man behind the madness at @pgamemes, hopped on the phone and gave us a little insight into what started the wildly popular account and what’s it’s like running the page. PGA Memes is an account worth following If you’re not following PGA Memes, do yourself a favor and go follow. Ryan and I both agree the content is hilarious. Most of the time the jabs they put on the Tour guys are exactly what we all are thinking. Travis has a unique sense of humor. He has brilliantly been able to use it grow the account to almost 400,000 followers. That’s just insane to us. It has been incredible to watch the growth on the account and to see the interactions from his following. You want to talk about building a community. However, pgamemes isn’t the only account for Travis We’ve all seen the videos, and some of us, mainly Ryan, have been “pranked” by SirHissalot. The wildly entertaining account @hissalot is another brainchild of Travis. It started back in 2014 and has grown to be an account where he doesn’t even need to create content anymore. Fans of the page are consistently sending in videos. Travis let us know he’s planning a revamping of the account and has some plans for 2020 to make it even better than it is now. E9: The Open Winner, Listeners Phone Calls and More
Episode 9, we chat about The Open Championship and more. Congrats to you on The Open win Mr. Lowry The Irsish flags were waving, and so were the Sxrion ones! And oh what a Major it was. In arguably the best put on major overseas that we could remember Royal Portrush flourished on TV and in person from those who were lucky enough to be on the grounds. That means you Joel, you lucky SOB! The stunning landscape and what this tournament meant to the people of Northern Ireland made it an unforgettable experience. Matt and Ryan briefly cover their thoughts on what took place and how this was the conclusion of the Major season. No more Majors in 2019 With the conclusion of The Open, we’re now left to wait another 261 days before we see Augusta in early April. With the new season schedule, we have no more majors left on the calendar and only the Tour Championship to look forward to for a high profile event. We are curious how this new schedule will pan out only time will tell. Both Matt and Ryan offer their takes on the new schedule and what this means for the offseason. Listener Voice Mails YES, we finally got to these! Matt has been pushing the voice mails for a while now (702-518-1864), and Ryan figured out why in this episode! We took in some great calls, and it provided us with some excellent content for this episode. The voice mail calls was a great segment! We cannot wait to hear more from all of you. After you listen, you’ll understand why we’re expecting more calls after recording this episode. So get busy! Something BIG is coming It may happen in Tahoe, it may feature a fine co-sponsor, and it will be the first event in our new BREAKFAST BALL EVENT SERIES. Stay tuned for more info in this. We will be heavily promoting it on our social feeds. Ryan’s Easter Eggs For this episode, we’re giving away a Garsen QUAD Tour grip to one lucky listener. All you have to do is leave a comment below with what Ryan said, and that’s it! Up Next We have a special episode in the works for later this week. E8: Logan Olson and Corey Paul
Episode 8 We are so excited to bring this interview to all of you. Both of us are fans of the work Corey Paul and Logan Olson have been doing. We’re not just fanboys though; we’re owners as well. Ryan has several pieces from Corey’s Wedge and Iron collections, and he also has an Olson Manufacturing putter. And, Matt has two putters from Olson Manufacturing, most notably the VEGAS58 Putter Logan crafted earlier this year. Getting to know these two incredible craftsmen We’re familiar with the backstory of how both brands came to be, but it was fun to listen to them talk about their passion. Corey and Logan have very different ways in how they came to be in this industry, and it was awesome to hear them tell their stories. Make sure you listen to what they are saying. They nailed so many analogies throughout the episode; it was hard to keep track! CPFA and Olson Manufacturing Collaborations Sunday, the dynamic duo, will release another collaboration on the Corey Paul Functional Art website. From the photos we’ve seen on their Instagram accounts, it looks like it’s going to be another fantastic release and we’re pumped to see it hit the site. Ryan’s Easter Eggs Of course, Mr. Giveaway was at it again. Stay tuned to the end to hear what you need to do to grab yourself some free swag. E7P2: Club Champion and a MyGolfSpy Rant
Episode 7 Part 2, The show goes on with some Club Champion talks and MyGolfSpy The second part to episode 7 opens up with our first Voice Mail message. It’s a creepy one. Then we dive back into the Stability Putter and the new flatstick from TRU2. Club Champion and getting fit correctly Both of us have spent a little time at the new Las Vegas Club Champion, and we are both fans of what they are doing there. The fitting process can be an uneasy experience if it’s not done correctly and we talk about why we like Club Champion. We also offer our insights on what to look for in a fitting. Getting fit is tops on our list of things you need to consider if you are looking to improve as a player. MyGolfSpy Rant However, what gets the boat rocking is Ryan’s take on MyGolfSpy. We cover our thoughts on what’s taking place with them, and that leads us to talk about golf balls. We cover MGS and their recent series about the findings in cut open golf balls and why we think what’s happing with this “tactic” may not be for all the right reasons. Please be reminded that this is our opinion and one of the reasons we wanted to start the podcast, to share our stories and opinions. The MGS topic led us into talking about our Golf Ball Sponsor over at The Breakfast Ball, Wilson Staff. Links for this episode: TRU2 Golf Club Champion Las Vegas MyGolfSpy WEBSITE Wilson Golf Balls Cut Golf Balls Olson Manufacturing Ryan’s Easter Eggs Like always Ryan had some goodies to give away, and this time it’s was a dozen golf balls from Cut Golf. E7P1: The Open, Matthew Wolff and Stability Putter
Episode 7 Part 1  The Last Major It is almost here, the last Major of the season. With it, just around the corner we got in some first thoughts about the tournaments return to Ireland. Will Rory win a Major in Ireland? Will Koepka add another to his growing lists of Majors. Should you chastise anyone who calls it “The British Open” and what’s up with ESPN. Matthew Wolff is setting himself up to be a star We then got very long-winded on the new star on the PGA Tour, although he’s been making a name for himself for a few years now, Matthew Wolff. Last weeks winner has been a huge topic around the golfing world, and we chime in with our thoughts and question is the exemption to the “young guns” good for the sport. We interrupt this podcast Nothing can ruin the proper flow of a show like “technical difficulties.” We were getting to dive into the Stability Shaft when an unforeseen incident took place. After we “fixed” our issues we picked up the episode again and went on to talk for another 50 minutes. So instead of creating one, very long podcast, we have split this up into two parts. The Stability Shaft conversation picks up in part 2 along with some other topics you will not want to miss. Let’s say Ryan has a considerable soapbox and he’s not scared to get on top of it and voice his opinions. It’s excellent golf talk! Links for Episode 7 Part 1 The 2019 Open Championship Matthew Wolff on Instagram Breakthrough Golf Technologies Episode 7 Part 2 Look for Part 2 to hit the podcast tomorrow (7/11) and as always thank you for the support! E6: Joel Leopard from Atomic Golf
Joel Leopard from Atomic Golf joins us for this episode. If you haven’t experienced any of the work Joel is producing at Atomic Golf, you are in for a treat! Joel took some time out from his busy schedule and chatted with Matt (and briefly Laura) about his company. He has an outstanding story about how Atomic Golf came to be, his career in the Nuclear Energy field, and of course, we talked about his Ball Markers. With an upcoming MAJOR #4 release a few weeks away Joel gives us a little insider info about what you can expect to see with the new marker. Hint, it’s going to be clover related. Then, Joel drops a bomb for us and let us know he’s working on a Putter Release for later this year! That’s right, a putter! It was an absolute pleasure having Joel on the show. He’s one of those guys who could talk golf for hours, and we LOVE that! He has some outstanding products in the works, and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for the MAJOR #4 release and his future endeavor with creating putters. Links for this Episode: Atomic Golf Website True Tech Tyson Lamb Shire Post Mint BlitzKrieg Golf Maria Fassi UST Mamiya Ben Hogan Golf Thank you, Joel, for coming on the show! The interview process for the podcast is one aspect I’m incredibly excited about continuing. Getting to know more about people via casual golf conversation is so entertaining. As much as I love scrolling the Atomic Golf Instagram page you don’t get the back story we were able to showcase in this episode!  I want to thank Joel for coming on and chatting golf. And I can’t wait for the time we have him back on to talk more about his company and how things are going.
