OVERALL HEALTH...Reshma Balkaran

In the world we live in, overall health and healing is crucial. That's why I brought this partnered episode to you :D enJOY! 

Reshma is a Certified Holistic Nutrition Consultant, currently living in Alberta Canada. Reshma’s health and wellness journey started while she was living in Vancouver. Living in the big city brought on a lot of stress which ended up affecting her mentally and physically. 

She had suffered from hormonal imbalances, in which she had no idea about, nor was there a lot of information out there to help her understand what was going on in her body. After being fed up with her low energy levels, mood swings and various infections requiring antibiotics all the time, she decided to turn a new leaf in life and focus on nutrition. 

She started out with juicing, smoothies and incorporating more vegetables and greens into her life (which is essentially the basis for healthy eating). These small changes made such a huge difference in her health, and created more vibrancy in her everyday living. 

After tapping into this world of wellness, she realized how much more her body needed it. Holistic wellness means more than just feeding the body good food, it means nurturing the mind. It means getting healthy sleep, having meaningful relationships, it’s about self love and giving love. It’s about intent and purpose in everything you do. 

Balkaran's passion for holistic health grew even more during the time she spent in school, through CSNN (Canadian School of Natural Nutrition), where she earned her diploma in holistic Nutrition Consulting. She hopes that her passion and inspiration touches the lives of many others, who are struggling to find balance in their health, or may want to learn more to help someone they love on their wellness journey.

On the podcast today we have... Meghan!! She is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner (CNP) or Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). She attended the Institute of Holistic Nutrition, in Toronto, where she earned her accredited Canadian Diploma in many modalities.

Meghan has studied orthomolecular nutrition, anatomy and biology, Ayurveda, the relationship between health and the environment, metabolism, many comparative diets, symptomatology, preventive health care, nutritional pathology, herbal medicine, holistic food preparation, the psychology of disease, fitness and sports nutrition, and completed a clinical co-operative placement. She decided to start an online business so that she would be able to connect with clients all over the world via virtual nutrition consulting. Meghan is in the process of transferring her education to the United States where she will become a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist (BCHN) within the next year, through the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP).

She offers nutrition coaching via Zoom and meets with clients - to develop customized PDF protocols to help them reach their goals and reverse disease through nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle. Meghan finds great passion in helping people heal. She herself has struggled in the past with debilitating conditions that she healed naturally. Meghan believes that her combination of passion, life experience, and formal education makes her the perfect Practitioner to guide you through the beautiful ART of healing through nutrition.

The truth is... I used to think I have to please everyone, just to be loved and supported. My constant need for attention and approval was literally ruining my life, because I didn't know what I really aiming for. I was switchy and easily influenced with my life decisions... It was like getting in a car and knowing that I'm going on a long trip, but with no map or destination. No warnings of construction or blocked roads, and tunnels.


I also wasn't super clear and consistent with my decisions, or wise enough to just listen to a few key, successful mentors. However, I am strong, beautiful, creative and knowledge seeking. Like you!


So, yes, I have done a few things I am not proud of within my journey. Time wasting and all. But those things helped bring light and direction, from being lost in the dark, to what I truly want in my life! NOW, I master the f*ck out of my life through dance, and energy!
I was bending my morals, and boundaries to make others happy - in relationships, careers, business ventures, and even health decisions.

But especially with dancing (whether nude or not), I would have loved to learn how to sustain my energy, confidence, thoughts and take better actions towards my utmost desires and dreams in life. I am doing so now, and have been for at least 5 years. That's what I want to deliver to you, my Queen!


So what shifted? HOW did I go through my greatest difficulties, and get to where I am today? Happy, for-filled, and always improving?

Honestly, like anyone would... I had to get to the root of my healing journey and dig deep. I had to open myself to LEARNING again. Learning how to re-align my energy to be "un-f*ck-with-able." I had to seek NEW, non-judgemental coaches. I had to be ok with receiving that support (Miss. Independent here). Most of all, I had to see a different kind of future for myself and my family, and I had to get to work! Was it easy? NOT ALWAYS...


Can you relate? Maybe it really is your time to make a change, right? Reclaim your life, your Queendom :D

What are you focused on most? 

Most people over-estimate what they can do in a year, but underestimate what they can do in 10 years. (Totally stole this from the man himself, Tony Robbins, lol) 

My morning routine is mentioned in this episode, it has helped me lose 10 lbs since lockdown (March 18, 2020) 

Gratitude is at an all-time high because I can do this routine anywhere :D 

Working on my light! Dancing, inspiration, building my online business. Major difference before and after COVID-19...

Anti-social vs. Focusing = Priorities for my COMPELLING FUTURE.

Hey QUEENS!!! 

Im taking about fear today. I don't focus on these a lot - but sometimes, you need to address them! 

Face them straight on, honour and embrace them, and move through life without being in a fear-prone mentality. 

I list some of my biggest fears; as the main one dying unfulfilled. However, everyday I get up and chase life. I fill my moments with excitment and adventure. I strive for betterment, because our life is about growing our soul most of all. 

I declare that I will never let my fear hold me back ever again. In the moment of FEAR, I declare it does not have control over me and my mental state. I have rebuttals for every fear. My voice is heard, my life has been amazing and filled with joy and success, because I refuse to let my fears manifest into reality.

Have you ever had moments that you knew you should have just finished what's on the top of your priority list? Instead of doing what everyone else wants you to do? No one cares if you are a people pleaser! So do you baby-girl! People respect other's who "get theirs" in life... so do that! 

In this episode I talk about saying NO to things that push you back from crossing the finish line to your goals. A lot of people major in minor things... don't be one of those people. Cross off items in your list towards happiness
