Season 7. Ep. 16: “The Pause” How to heal hidden motherhood traumas. Criss Madrigal, Life Coach

Season 7. Ep. 16: “The Pause” How to heal hidden motherhood traumas. Criss Madrigal, Life Coach

I am Criss Madrigal, a proud Californian by birth and a person deeply connected to my Mexican roots. Having spent a significant portion of my childhood in Mexico, I cherish the invaluable experiences and immersion in my vibrant culture that it provided.

I am blessed to be married to an incredibly supportive partner, whose unwavering presence and encouragement is a gift. In 2009, my heartfelt wish was granted, and I was given the incredible gift of motherhood to a remarkable boy. Two years later, in 2011, our family was blessed with the arrival of identical twin girls, bringing us even closer together. As a united and devoted family unit, we have embarked on a profound journey of love, care, and support, embracing the unique needs of each of our children with unwavering dedication.

Driven by a profound desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others, I wholeheartedly pursued my passion and became a certified life and mindset coach. Alongside my coaching practice, I am also a corporate mom and human resources professional, dedicating the past 18 years of my career to a Fortune 500 organization.

With a profound passion for empowering women, my purpose is to facilitate transformative journeys that encompass the mind, heart, and body. I am dedicated to guiding women towards a harmonious transformation that brings peace, love, and abundance into their lives. By helping them break through self-imposed barriers, such as mom guilt, overwhelm, and burnout, I assist them in attaining a daily state of clarity, balance, and confidence. Through prioritizing their own well-being, they are empowered to uncover their true purpose and achieve their desired goals in life.

My mission is to empower women worldwide by reminding them of their innate capacity for greatness and success. I firmly believe that the key to unlocking these achievements lies within each and every woman. Through my work, I strive to ignite the inner fire and unleash the boundless potential that resides within them, inspiring women to recognize their own power and achieve extraordinary heights. Season 7. Ep. 15: Foster Care, Motherhood & My Educational Journey That Changed My Life.

Season 7. Ep. 15: Foster Care, Motherhood & My Educational Journey That Changed My Life.

My name is Sandra Nunez, I am a first-gen Mexicana who recently graduated with her Bachelor's in Sociology. I am part of the 3% of former foster youth that made it to college, and I am proud of my educational journey and the many doors it has opened for me, but more so the doors I opened by sharing my story. I quickly noticed that "the invite to have a seat at the table" wasn't coming, so I decided to begin using my platform to talk about education and empowerment. We must be the ones to create these spaces for ourselves as well as those we are paving the way for. Education has changed my life in so many ways for example increased confidence, gained knowledge, the ability to network, I feel empowered by those who believe in me, and I learned how powerful my story truly is. Coming from a world where education was never talked about, I am blessed that I have been able to continue my journey and create a healthy cycle for my kids, I changed the narrative for my family, and that’s a big deal. My passion is spreading empowerment and how education can be a transformative experience. Many will say “it is a waste of time,” but many more will say it has helped them flourish into cycle breakers, and we are contributing to the much-needed representation in academia. See, we’re not just doing it for us were doing it for the many others that don’t feel “they have what it takes” or “feel like they do not belong”. You belong, we belong, we all belong, college is a possibility. Links of your social media platforms: @educatedchingona @chingonaology. Marisol is a successful mother wife and entrepreneur. At the age of 17 she decided to have my daughter and even though she knew I’d struggle, Marisol figured she was not alone. Throughout her life her parents taught her many moral and principals to go by. They taught her that character spoke volume. At a young age she began to work and learn to sale goods. Didn’t matter what the object was, everything had a purpose. All these lessons led to todays success. She consider herself very successful because of the health, love and compassion I’ve gained.

Season 7. Ep. 5: Boundaries and Romantic Relationships with Patty Cuevas, MA

My name is Patty Cuevas. I have a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. I am NOT a therapist.— though I’m working on it  I am a Christian life coach, momma bear and wife located in Texas (relocated from Southern California).

I am passionate about speaking about all things mental health, particularly grief, loss, abandonment, feeling left behind in life and starting over.

My Christian faith is intertwined with who I am and my love for mental health. I have a heart for women, especially mommas, who think it’s too late to start, restart or finish their life goals. Having experienced two deep losses in my life, pivoting in the midst of loss was not only a challenge, but overwhelming. The effects of loss, grief and abandonment can be long-lasting.

I invite women listeners to find community, be an active participant in their own lives and challenge them to let go of the things that no longer serve them in their purpose.

Season 6. Ep.8: Rebecca Contreras From Poverty to the White House to Millionaire Entrepreneur.

Season 6. Ep.8: Rebecca Contreras From Poverty to the White House to Millionaire Entrepreneur.

Quick links:

Born into poverty to a drug-addicted mother, Rebecca Contreras had been a “lost girl” for almost two decades when, at age 19, she found herself to be a drop out, welfare-dependent teenage mother. As a high school dropout with substance-abuse and emotional trauma tendencies, she was well on her way to perpetuating the generational cycle of destruction and becoming a statistic lost to the system and her upbringing.

Her new book, Lost Girl: From the Hood to the White House to Millionaire Entrepreneur (Boss Media, released Oct 2021), recounts this journey from getting off welfare to advising a sitting U.S. president to eventually founding a thriving 100+ person company, her journey demonstrates that harsh beginnings or past mistakes do not need to define us; rather, we each have the power to forge our own pathways, especially when we have self-determination and the ability to recognize and accept helping hands along the way.

Rebecca’s transformative journey continued with the marriage of her husband, David, who she met while serving in a gang outreach youth community program in Austin. Rebecca and David have been married for 31+ years and live with their family in the Austin area. Together, she and David founded LaunchPad (LP) in 2008, a nonprofit that focused on serving middle school age inner city youth through a comprehensive after school program for nearly a decade in Northeast Austin. Today LaunchPad has shifted to support other philanthropic causes in the State of Texas and globally that are near and dear to the Contreras’ heart. To learn more about LP visit www.launchpadthecenter.org.

Rebecca started her government service as a single mom in a “welfare-to-work’ program under the iconic Texan Ann Richards. After she completed that program and got her GED, she then went on to work in HR for Kay Bailey Hutchison, and worked her way all the way to being a top leader serving 12 years in the George W. Bush legacy, first in Texas as his director of HR, and then in the White House as a Commissioned Officer on Bush’s right hand team supporting the presidential transition and leading the process for staffing over 1,200 positions in boards and commissions across the government, President Bush then appointed her to serve on the Board of WestPoint Military Academy.

Season 6. Ep.5: Yasmin Maya, Beautiyybird. -My Journey as a Mexican Immigrant, Beauty Entrepreneur & Mom. Chingona Edition

FOUNDER OF BIRDY LASHES, YASMIN MAYA Yasmin Maya is a beauty entrepreneur and lifestyle creator. Born and raised in the State of México, from a pueblo called Amatepec, Yasmin came to the U.S. as a young teen. Being the only girl in the family, Yasmin taught herself how to do her makeup and loved glamming her mom and tias. In her first video uploaded in 2012, she speaks about an incident that almost burned her face, burning all of her lashes. Since then, she's been an avid user of falsies to define her eyes. At the age of 21, Yasmin took a leap of faith and decided to start a beauty YouTube platform, naming it after her nickname 'Birdy' but with a beauty twist, Beautyybird. Eight years later, Yasmin has created a safe home for her 'Beauties', showcasing herself as a proud Latinx with over 3M followers. Yasmin has become an authority in the beauty space, working with large beauty brands and breaking down barriers for Latinx consumers and talent alike. She's used her voice to speak up and showcase that she is proud of her Mexican heritage and is seen as an inspiration to those who feel the need to hide their background to be accepted in the beauty industry. In 2020, she achieved her biggest dream yet - and that was the launch of her very own brand, BIRDY LASHES. This brand came out of Yasmin's passion for the beauty industry, her love for her culture, and wanting to create lashes and lash tools that are not only the best quality but affordable - always keeping her 'Beauties' in mind. Yasmin is a proud mother of two beautiful hijas, Jayline & Kailin. She lives in California with her husband and parents. Aside from beauty, Yasmín also uses the large platform she has built as an opportunity to share her pregnancy journey and advice, shed light on motherhood and connect with other Latina moms around the world.
