Season 5 Episode 13: Faith Civil War: Navigating discord with fellow believers
Hello, Chosen sisters (and brothers, too,  we see you!)! We are actually back on a TUESDAY for the first time in awhile. Thank yall for bearing with our scheduling conflicts. Truly #sidehustlingfortheLord. lol TODAY, we are having a real conversation about how to navigate discord with fellow believers; a "faith civil war," if you will. How we conduct ourselves among quarrels and disagreements is crucial to our faith and witness. The comments section on social media, is rampant these days with disagreements and opinion slinging not only with people who are in the Faith and people who don't subscribe to Christianity, but also believers vs. believers. We have forgotten we are on the same team. We have forgotten the true enemy. What if we remembered that the enemy isnt our fellow believers who disagree in opinion with us, and not even "non-belivers," but Satan himself? How would our conversations change? So, lets talk about it! We are diving into questions like: How do we handle when people in our own faith strongly disagree? What do we do when scripture can be up for interpretation? How can you recognize when you don’t have pure motives? How do you know when to stop, re-visit, or just move on? What do you do when you realize that you have been harsh when discussing opinions or convictions? Do we idolize hustle? Why is busy popular? What is success? What is the difference between busy and hurried? Can rest and hustle coexist? What are the side effects? How do you moderate the hustle? Is hustle bad? We hope this episode is as much of a refreshing "wake up call" for you as it has been for us. Its so important to bring to light the darkest parts of our hearts! Today we ask, and attempt to answer, the important questions like: What is going on? How do we prepare our heart, mind, spirit? Why does our posture matter? How do we talk about this? How do we react as a believer? How do we navigate being a Christian with a church that is ultimately divided on a huge global issue? Season 5 Episode 1 STAY READY!
CHOSEN GIRL FAM! How did we get here!? (we know, we know, GOD). Its SEASON FIVE of the podcast and we are so blessed, humbled, and so grateful to be here. Thank you for loving us. Thank you for walking with us. Thank you for listening! We love you guys and you will never know how grateful we both are for the gift of this platform to learn and grow in Him together! TODAY, we are starting this season with a BANG, chatting about the concept of "staying ready so we dont have to get ready!" YES, YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY! Of course, in faith, this could mean a number of things: staying ready spiritually, in your faith, mentally, or even physically (disclaimer you'll hear: we are NOT talking diets, y'all. You should know us better than that! lol). For a great, biblically lived-out example, we are turning to the book of Daniel! Some other verses we will reference include: “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:13 “The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.” 1 Peter 4:7 "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11 We hope and pray this episode impacts you just as much as it did us. There is such beauty that comes with knowing God, rather than just knowing of God. There is such blessing and peace that comes from making God your life, not just an "add on." Season 4 Epsisode 14 MENTAL HEALTH with Bethany Harrison
**trigger warning, we discuss miscarriage briefly in this episode** FRIENDS! Literally crying at the fact that this is the SEASON FINALE of season 4 of the pod! We have been so blessed by this season and so appreciate you loving and supporting the community that is Chosen Girl. We love you so much, and we treasure each episode with you. As for today's episode...ladies, buckle up and hunker down for today's chat with our dear friend, Bethany Harrison. Bethany is a dear friend of mine that I have known since pre-school, but we have recently bonded over the last couple of years through the "magic" of adult life. (lol). Bethany is our enneagram 6, musical-loving queen and the kind of "real" that makes you want to be the truest authentic version of yourself alongside her. She is a mom of 3 adorable boys in our community just east of Nashville, and writes for her blog, Surviving till Sunday. (yes, you will 1000% want to subscribe!). Today we chat about a lot of things, as we usually do when together, like walmart, mom bods, cicadas, instagram, and more, but when I tell you we did a deep dive into trusting/doubting God, we dove deep, yall. Tune in to hear her miraculous story of conception, birth, overcoming sickness, depression, and literal near-death experiences that led her from questioning everything in her faith to what she describes as God being her most "treasured friendship." She can speak this because she lived this. We pray her story and authenticity with wrestling with God touches you as much as it has us. Season 4 Episode 12 New Testament Advice Column
HEY HEY Chosen Girl tribe! We can't WAIT to dive into the pure wisdom from God's Word in today's episode. The past three weeks, we have talked all things toxicity: relationships, thoughts, culture, and even religion. As fun as it sometimes is to chat about what gets under our skin most, it does no good to do so if that talk of pointing to what is so wrong without pointing to what is true and right. Last week, we talked religious toxicity. Good news is, that's nothing new! Even the early church and religious leaders needed advice on how to conduct themselves in faith. Today we chat about this wise advice from just one of the many New Testament letters to one of the early churches, Ephesians! Y'all- we could have let this episode be 3 hours long. There is SO much goodness in the letters of God's Word to His church. We hope this episode is as much of a breath of fresh air to you as it was to us. This advice is SO needed, and amazingly rings true even thousands of years later. That is the beauty of God's Word. So, sis, grab a cup of coffee, your favorite translation of the Bible, a notepad and your favorite pen. Let's get to studying, so we can start doing. Season 4 Episode 10 Truth>Toxicity Pt. 2
ITS TELL ME BOUT IT TUESDAY, fam! And today, we are continuing with our mini-series: truth>toxicity! We are READY to have a real talk with you all about toxicity in religion, and even the Church. First, for disclaimers: We LOVE the Church. We mean no disrespect! We BELIEVE in the Church and support it 100%! We are just navigating real pain and mess-ups that we as humans have committed within the body of Christ. We believe the best in people. We have hope. We love to approach this with the heart-posture that the hearts of people in ministry and faith are in the right place, but often times we get the method of sharing our faith, wrong. The viewpoint here is through the lens of HUMILITY, and only humility. We cannot address how humanity in the church has messed up without confessing that WE have, or will, mess up in proclaiming the gospel, too. The answer to issues with humans is always, always, always JESUS. OKAY, now that those very important truths have been addressed, lets hop in to some very real questions that address where we as humans have slipped up with delivering the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus: What is the Church? What is our role? What is our role as a christian in a misunderstood religion? How do we respond to: 1) When friends/neighbors have been hurt by religion. 2) When we may be in a toxic situation ourselves. How do we know when something in Church/Religious culture is toxic? Join us today and we have a real-talk type of chat about this very real questions and point to the ultimate truth that we cannot misplace the promises of God for the people of God. It is so important that we fix our gaze on things ABOVE us and not AROUND us. Jesus is our ONE perfect example for us, and because of Him, we can be made complete in our weaknesses and (praise, God) be seen as righteous in His eyes. Its ONLY because of Him! PRAISE! We encourage you to join us in the studying of early letters written to the church (spoiler alert, we have always missed the mark in one way or another!). You can find these letters in the New Testament: Romans Corinthians Galatians Ephesians Philippians Colossians Thessalonians Hebrews That we can’t defend our entire Church reputation, but if we humble ourselves, it can start with us! Season 4 Episode 8 TRUTH>toxicity pt. 1
Sisters we are BACK! Thank you for bearing with us during our break last week as we here in Middle TN dealt with major flooding and cleanup in our area. If you think about it, send up a prayer for our neighbors and friends who are still in recovery! God is good and He made His people to be resilient! We are back with a 2 part series called truth>toxicity! We are here to shed light on many toxic mindsets, relationships, and cultural norms that could be toxic to our spirit. We are NOT here to give glory to toxic nature, rather, overcome it with the TRUTH of God's word! On today's episode, we explore toxicity with ourselves and with our relationships in our lives. Here are some sure-fire signs of toxicity in your life (these and so many more): Signs you may have a toxic relationship with yourself: You don’t show yourself grace You self-medicate or self soothe When the truth of God is for everyone but you You serve/give to others to the point of burnout (saying yes too much) You ignore your body, mind and spirit when triggered you give into spiraling toxic thoughts Replacing your perspective on the situation with the truth of the situation. Signs you may be in an unhealthy relationship with others: You hide things/Dishonesty You always give in to their way, or they always give into yours Unnecessary Guilt One-sided effort They put you down/you feel drained You’re co-dependent They make you feel insecure You feel the need to strategize everything, down to conversations Abusive You change yourself to be what they want: appearance, opinions, beliefs You’re unhappy There’s more dread than positive anticipation You justify bad behavior for them or yourself Constant testing of boundaries You feel unsettled in your spirit More verses and notes at

Hey hey Chosen fam! We are back for another episode of our Discipleship series for the Tell Me Bout It Podcast! Today, we are covering the hard stuff. We are chatting about questions like: How do you confront a friend in love? What do you do when you find a church leader or friend in faith is immoral? What do you do with your own sin? How do you handle disagreements in love? Though we dont have the universal answers to all of these hard situations, we can go to the Word about them, which is exactly what we have done! ITS TELL ME BOUT IT TUESDAY and we are diving into the main way people know we are a disciple of Christ: LOVE! Join us today for part 3 out of 5 for our first ever discipleship series! Last week, we covered the groundwork of discipleship (discipleship 101 if you will), and today we are going deeper into the FRUIT of being a disciple: LOVE. Jesus himself says this is how people will know we are Christians, by our LOVE. So today, we are digging into: How did Jesus love others? How do I love in my everyday? What are parts of myself and life that need to show love? Where does loving others meet healthy boundaries? Season 4 Episode 4 DISCIPLESHIP 101
Welcome back, Chosen Fam! Its Tuesday, which means a new episode of Tell Me Bout It! This week we are continuing our chat on Discipleship with what we are calling "Discipleship 101." This is a word used in faith often, but what exactly does it mean? Even more important, how does it apply to us? In this episode we dive into two very influential definitions of Discipleship (being both a student and an adherer) and the cornerstone verses from Jesus Himself on what it means to be a disciple. Here's some highpoint notes from our chat to take away and reflect on: Discipleship is not a “Program” its a process, Discipleship is not Christ just being one part of your identity or life, its about Him consuming every aspect of your identity and life. He becomes immeshed in who we are. Is Jesus your Lord? Do you believe what the Bible says? Are you okay with submitting to the commands, teaching and lifestyle of Christ? Luke 9:23–24 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. John 13:34–35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Matthew 28:16–20 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Find, subscribe, listen, and rate our podcasts all here: Click here to listen on Apple Podcasts Click here to listen on Spotify Click here to listen on Anchor Click here to listen on Google Podcasts

Basically, in a nutshell with this chat, the Lord came through, and so did Daphne with her amazing testimony of obedience, miraculous HEALING, her mental health journey, and more. She straight up blessed us with the most PRACTICAL Godly advice. She literally is a wisdom shaker (think of that made up term like a "salt" shaker lol!). We are so thankful she poured out her heart and experience with God to us in such a relatable and vulnerable way. Here's some of the amazing wisdom tid-bits from our talk: God will return what you missed/gave up! God's Word and faith in Him will never return void Isaiah 1:19: Willing + Obedient Get close to God! He will let you know His will! Reflect on what is taking up space in your life and heart that is pulling you away from God. Remove distractions in your life! What parts of myself need to be worked on? GOD WANTS ME TO HAVE PEACE! We exist to please God! And the TRUTH BOMB question she left us with: Why would you want to do life without God? You can find Daphne on Instagram @daphnemichellemusic and you can find her music on Apple Music, Spotify, and more! WELCOME BACK FAM! We are always happy when its TUESDAY! Today we are discussing a word often used in conversation of our Faith that may need a reminder in how we put it into practice: GRACE! We definitely don't deserve it, but JESUS makes it possible with His loving free gift for us that enables us, no, PROPELS us into giving this gift freely to our neighbors. Grace upon grace. May this message encourage your to be kind to yourself, to others, and to give such praise and thanks to God for this amazing gift of Grace!

Tell me bout it: S2 Ep. 15, GRIEF
Hey hey, Chosen fam! We cannot believe it, but this is the second to last episode of SEASON 2 of the pod! Thank you SO MUCH for sticking with us and being a part of our Chosen family.Today we are getting real with an inevitable part of life: grief. We are answering the important questions:What is grief? What does it look/feel like? What should I do?What should I do if a friend is grieving? What does the Bible say about grief? What are examples in the Bible of people grieving? What lies will the enemy throw at me about grief? Grief is a very real thing and doesn't necessarily have to do with death alone. It can be loss of any kind, big or small, and, sister...God sees your heart no matter how big or small the loss is. There is no concern of your heart too insignificant for our loving and compassionate God. So friends, if you have endured trauma and are experiencing grief from the terrors of losing a family member, child, or even something personal like a breakup, job-loss, or loss of a friendship...God sees you and is HERE FOR YOU! He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and wants to help you with your burdens and cares (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone. You are not bothering God. Your cares mean something to God...and He is coming to help you!Y'all can find this week's recording on our Chosen Girl app, or click here to stream our podcast directly from our site, or subscribe to our podcast here on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play.

Ep. 18 Tell Me Bout It: FORGIVENESS
Forgiveness Defined: stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake. What is the purpose of forgiveness? To move past something that has hurt us.  Why forgive?  Lack of forgiveness is like a bad apple in your soul: it affects EVERYTHING.  Lack of forgiveness is like a splinter that isn't dealt with. It's infected, annoying, and festering.  We forgive for US to be free, not others.  We are representatives of CHRIST and He set the HIGHEST example of forgiveness! He freely gives it, so should we.  Forgiveness is a part of our KINGDOM identity! WHO do you want to be? Why do we NOT forgive? Built up pride Remaining offense Human nature, selfishness HOW do we forgive? A LOT of prayer Forgiveness is a CHOICE Be honest with yourself and seek truth Get to the source of the pain and take it to the Lord Create healthy boundaries if needed Pray for patience, it doesn't always happen overnight! There is a difference between forgiveness and justice!  Why would we wish bad judgment on someone else? That makes us just as bad and in need of forgiveness! It's GOD's job to judge and serve justice, not ours. It's our job to just forgive. There's a difference in forgiveness and being passive: Don't be foolish; you can forgive but separate yourself from a situation. Forgiveness is not "soft" Pray about if God is using a forgiving situation to close a door or separate you from a toxic person/situation in your life!

Ep. 17 Tell Me Bout It "You need to calm down...OFFENSE"
Why do we get offended? (ask yourself this question!) We are built up on our own pride We have a false expectation of someone else not being met We have a false perception of someone's intent towards us We have a false perception of someone or their words/actions "You're not doing what I think you should." What does it mean to be offended? to be resentful or annoyed, typically as a result of a perceived insult. Greek word: Skandalon, Meaning: Trapped How do we deal with being offended? Ask yourself WHY you are offended! Once you know why, you can better handle how to overcome. Check yourself before you wreck yourself! be honest with yourself and see if this offense is because of an insecurity you have, not due to someone else. Deal with it ASAP! This doesn't mean "going off." This means praying and forgiving quickly. It's who we are as a new creation. Its our Kingdom DNA in becoming more like Jesus. (this takes practice) Pray about your actions and for wisdom, and seek counsel from the Holy Spirit about healthy confrontation. DON'T TELL EVERYBODY AND THEIR BROTHER ABOUT WHO OFFENDED YOU! How do we deal with being offended by the actions of a fellow believer? We have to remember that WE ARE HUMAN. We all make mistakes and have sinned.   Shed your pride! Who are we do be offended? Again, self examination.  PRAY for that person and how to handle it. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom! If you are going to confront it, do it in a timely manner and in a healthy, non-accusatory way.  Don't let your feelings lie to you! Offense is a feeling and feelings will lie. Always seek TRUTH! Don't be passive agressive in your actions and stay in offense. Why should we NOT want to be offended? "I don't want to be trapped!" -Elizabeth Sanders (lol) Jesus had every reason to be offended, and He wasn't. Its our goal to be more like Him every day.  We cannot be fully in God's will if we are living in offense. To be forgiven, we must forgive. If we have something against someone, it hinders our prayer life. Mark 11:25 Staying in offense keeps us trapped and hinders us from moving forward in God's full plan for us.  If you're trapped, you can't walk!
September 17, 2019
Ep. 16 Tell Me Bout It "Christians for Hire...Toxic Expectations"
How are you treating expectations? Do you put them on God? Others? Yourself? How do you feel pressure from expectations placed on you? How do you experience stress because of the expectations you put on others, or even God?   Here's some DON'Ts with expectations to get you started on the right track: Don't put expectations on other people that they didn't agree to! This only leads to offense! Don't let your concept of God change due to expectations that YOU have for Him to do/come through on. This only makes us bitter toward a God who's timing is perfect and ways are higher.  Don't expect God to bring you something that's not yours! Don't mistake God saying "wait" for God saying "no." Don't mistake taking expectations off of God for not trusting God. Fully trusting Him breaks down the chains of our own agenda we have in mind and how we think God should show up. Its all about HIS way and plan. Don't compare yourself with the world and it's expectations! Its time for the aimless striving to stop.  What can we expect from God? He wants to carry our burdens! Matthew 11:28-30 We don't have to worry! Matthew 6:25-27 He freely gives grace and mercy! Psalm 86:15 We are forgiven! Matthew 6:14-15 He has plans to prosper us! Jeremiah 29:11 He wants to guide our steps! Proverbs 3:5-6 He always wants to do good by us! James 1:17 and sooooo many more! Girl, read your Bible! (LOL) TRADE your toxic expectations for God's beautiful plan. His ways are higher. His thoughts are higher. Let Him replace your ashes from the pressure of expectations for His BEAUTY of trusting and dwelling in Him.    Ephesians 3:20-21 God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Ep. 15 Tell Me Bout It FOMO and Your BEST "Yes"
Hey hey, sweet friends! Welcome to another week of TELL ME BOUT IT! If you're new to Chosen Girl, "tell me bout it" is where we dive into God's word and wisdom for guidance on everyday struggles we all face. We've covered so many real topics with truly real talks on topics like dating, fear, anxiety, waiting, and more. Do you ever say "yes" to not let others down? Are you spread too thin due to overcommitment? Does your skin crawl when you don't have a hand in every little thing around you? We got you sis. This week we are diving into an issue we all face...saying "yes" all too often and a major contributing factor, "FOMO" (fear of missing out). Yes, its time to have this conversation! When is "yes" the right thing to say? When is it wrong or unhealthy? And most importantly, what does the Word say? Face it, sister, you've spread yourself too thin on the wrong "yes'." We know because we have lived it, and are still living it... who's ready to OVERCOME?!? Its time to redirect our FOMO from other's expectations to God's plan. I don't wanna miss out on what He has for me, y'all. Disclaimer: This talk isn't a "never say yes" talk...its a "seek God in ALL" talk! YES, God has assignments for you to say "yes" to! NO, not all assignments are for you! This is a priority talk, sisters. A choice talk...and we are preaching to ourselves more than anything! Y'all can find this week's recording on our YouTube channel, or click here to stream our podcast directly from our site, or subscribe to our podcast here on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or Google Play.   Here's some high points you DON'T want to miss or forget: Colossians 3:23If we are giving into everyone else but God, then that's when everything else becomes an idol. Are you spreading yourself too thin to please someone else? The 2 most important words in the English language are "yes" and "no."How we spend time is like currency. What is how you're spending your time worth to you? We are only given 168 hours in a week. How are we budgeting our time? Once its spent, you can't get it back!Don't justify what God is calling you to! What is more important...His way or yours? There's ALWAYS a tradeoff with how we spend our time. No prayer, no peace. No Bible, no wisdom. How are you spending your soul?"Yes" may be "less" sometimes, but trust that God is always positioning you for MORE with your "yes" for HIM. Don't mistake God saying "wait" for God saying "no." The "wait" command from God is always for your good. God will not tell you to wait unless the wait is worth it. God will not tell you to stop or say no unless He is protecting you. Trust Him. When you know who you are in CHRIST, decisions come SO much easier. The Holy Spirit is here to HELP you! Do you truly believe that God has the BEST yes and intentions for your life?

Ep. 14 Tell Me Bout It "Credit or Debit Faith?"
What does faith in God look like vs. faith in yourself? We screw up where God doesn't!  Biblical Faith Defined: Hebrews 11 Having faith in GOD is taking one more step past HOPE, and thats taking ACTION in our faith... Putting weight on something. Its so easy to put your faith in what you can physically see and physically put your weight on. BUT, faith isn't faith if you can see it.  Its jumping when God says jump and not refusing to jump because of the circumstances around you...but because of the God who told you to jump! What does it look like to have faith when everything isn't going the way you planned?  Start with an attitude of gratitude!  When you cant see the end in sight, remind yourself of WHO is in control. HE is the only one who can fix your situation.  Whats the difference between CAN and WILL? Do you believe that God CAN do it, or that He WILL do it?  We limit God by limiting our prayers. Don't put God is a box! He wants you to put your full weight in Him.  Remember that whatever He is good. Trust His ways, even if you don't understand right now! Its all about being in His will!  Here's some high points you DON'T want to miss or forget: If you don't have it, you can't spend it!  Putting your FAITH in GOD is a fountain that will never run dry.  Faith is just like a muscle...we have all been given muscle but their strength depends on how much you exercise it!  Are we a church operating on demon level faith? Even the demons believe in who God is and what He is capable of!  FAITH IS IRRELEVANT TO OUR CIRCUMSTANCES! Thats what faith is...believing in what you cant see! I would rather have prayed and not get what I prayed for and trust that God's answer is best, than never to pray and not display faith.  Don't have "passive aggressive" faith! Don't pray without belief behind it. There's no use in praying if there's not belief!  Train your tongue to SPEAK LIFE! Be around others who speak life into you!  Don't crack the door of your life for Satan to slip his foot right in! CLOSE THAT DOOR WITH FAITH SISTER! Having faith on DEBIT means there is a SUPPLY behind the action. Thats having faith in GOD!  Are you treating your faith like used gift card? "Hopefully this works?!"

Ep. 13 Tell Me Bout It "Get Off Your High Horse"
Why should we honor others? Its a command! Jesus tells us to honor our Mother, Father, and leaders.  YOU WILL BE BLESSED when you honor others. 1 Peter 3: 8 MSG Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing.   Here's some high points you DON'T want to miss or forget: They will know we are Christians by our LOVE. There's a HUGE difference between being agreeable and agreeing with someone! You do NOT have to agree with someone to honor them.  OUR ONLY JOB IS TO LOVE AND BLESS! No matter how we feel, we are called to honor.  Honoring goes against EVERYTHING our flesh wants to do. Thats why we need to feed our spirit.  There's a huge difference in being condemning and holding a friend in faith accountable with love and the Word.  Just because grace abounds, does that mean sin should abound as well? NO, of course not! Thats taking advantage of God's grace! But its NOT our job to fix someone's sin. That's GOD's job. Its OUR job to love and point to God.  1 Peter 4:8 Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything.

Ep. 12 Tell Me Bout It "God's Reputation"
So, what's the deal with our concept of God? What is His reputation to us? When bad news hits, it's so easy to blame God. This stems DIRECTLY from our personal opinion of God, our relationship with Him, and what we think His reputation is to us.  What is reputation? The beliefs or opinions that are generally held about someone or something. The important starting disclaimer here is that reputation is often an OPINION! They are a belief. Though They aren't necessarily a fact, a reputation can be backed up with truth or facts, but let the record show that they also can be opinion. When you think of the God of the universe, what comes to mind? A holy gothic photo of Jesus? A huge man on a throne with a long white beard pointing his finger? Come on now, be honest with yourself. What’s your concept of God? What kind of reputation does He hold with you? Do you like what you’re thinking?  This week, I have been faced with many trials from all sides. You can say that the enemy definitely knows how to press my buttons and get me where I'm weakest. God has been my only hope. But, if I’m honest, I’ve also questioned God so much through this valley. Lots of why’s, how’s, and when’s. The thing is, not exalting myself whatsoever, I’ve finally become somewhat accustomed to spending time with God. I’ve gotten to know Him. We talk! I read His word (not everyday, but give your girl some slack on that!). It was amazing that as soon as some questions to God and for God started forming in my mind, I felt the Holy Spirit helping me with the answers. I’ve read in His word that He is GOOD. He has GOOD for me. He has a plan. He knows best. His timing is best. He LOVES me. Enough to make a way to spend eternity for me.I’ve read that He is our HEALER. I’ve looked closely at the life of Jesus, and he went around healing and doing Good! Performing miracles and being completely honest, nothing to hide. I’ve read that He wants to give us WISDOM, peace, and understanding, and that the enemy is literally called the father of CONFUSION.   The thing is, I still have questions. There are still so many corrupt and backwards things that are happening on this side of heaven. But, friends, I think I’ve got it all wrong. I think we have gotten things so wrong. I have lived so much of my life treating God unfairly, misunderstood. I have spent so much time looking for clarity of this world instead of clarity from the Word.  His word clearly says that His ways and thoughts are higher. The word CLEARLY says that in this world we WILL have trouble, but praise the LORD that we can take heart but GOD HAS OVERCOME DEATH FOR US! He has overcome the WHOLE world. On this side of heaven, we will see things through a glass that is dimly lit, but let me tell you. We serve a God that wants GOOD. ONLY GOOD for His children. He’s a GOOD father. A good father doesn't punish his children with deadly disease. A good father doesn't cause confusion amongst his children. A good father sometimes withholds the good so that eventually there is a BEST option for His children.  We serve a Good father. We need to change how we feel about our God (feelings will screw you up, girl). The enemy would have us so wrapped up in ourselves and our own twisted emotions so that God ends up being the enemy, when really he is the only rescuer.  Whether it be from your family, church, society, whatever...we all have a molded view of WHO God is. The thing is, our God loves us so much that He not only gave us his WORD to show who He is, but He LITERALLY sent Himself down in human form so we could have the perfect example and reference of His heart. His huge, unfailing love lived out in action for us.

Ep. 11 Tell Me Bout It "Relationships pt. 3 CAR CONVO"
Relationship advice from Hunter and Sarah: A successful relationship is founded on GOD! Everything else in a relationship builds upon that solid foundation.  Have a relationship with GOD before anyone else! Wait on HIS timing if you want His plan. Its a package deal! PRAY with your partner! Set boundaries and be on the same page with your boundaries! Boundaries are not a game and should be communicated and agreed upon! This can truly save a relationship and prevent regret. You attract who you are! What are you putting out there?  KNOW YOUR WORTH, and know who you are in CHRIST. This should come first before a serious relationship!  Don't settle for anything less than God's best for you. Will you choose your plan or His? When you know who you are and you know your worth, it changes how you let people treat you! Relationships take WORK! Your needs are #1, you have to take a heart of a servant and love them the way that feeds their soul. Relationships need to be INTENTIONAL, no matter the stage you're in! Dating is a pre-requisite to marriage. Marriage take intentionality. If you aren't living on purpose, you aren't going to live in your purpose!

Ep. 10 Tell Me Bout It "Relationships pt 2"
In this episode we dive into Biblical advice about the past, God's timing, disagreements, and so much more as we continue answering follower's questions!  No matter what, remember that the NUMBER ONE relationship you ever need to have is with our Creator and the author of your story. Whatever season of relationships you are in, be encouraged with the fact that God has a plan for you and He has given us His Holy Spirit to guide us everyday to that plan. Praise the Lord...the pressure if OFF! He has you (and your relationships!) in His hand if we just GIVE it over to Him!    Here's some high points you DON'T want to miss or forget: PRAY. God will help the past be your past! Time heals, but nothing heals more that God.  Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight!  ALL means ALL and that's ALL, ALL means!  You can't fix others, but you CAN fix yourself!  God is CLOSE to the brokenhearted. Ask God to help you with your heart condition!  GOD needs to be your everything. Not a person. Only God can sufficiently fill the void in your life! We have it ALL within GOD! (you NEED to listen to 16:42!) Who are we putting our identity in?  Conversation doesn't always need a perfect answer. Sometimes someone just needs to be heard and know someone is there for them and listening

Ep. 9 Tell Me Bout It "Relationships pt 1"
Here's some high points you DON'T want to miss or forget: Trust the Holy Spirit! The way you get to know that voice is to spend time with God and His Word! Don't mistake God's will for your OWN feelings!  GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER, rather than each other's BODY (LOL).  God will bring you the BEST plan in the BEST season! "God is trying to spice up yo life!" Don't be blinded by "being in LOVE with LOVE." If you are looking for someone to fill the void other than will never work!  WORK ON YOURSELF FIRST! If your foundation is strong in the LORD, then you are set up for success. You can't fix someone else, but you can fix yourself!   CHALLENGE!  If you are single or dating, MAKE A LIST! These are character traits that are NON-NEGOTIABLE! These things cannot be justified. Our #1 is a man running after GOD! Making a list is NOT being judgmental. It is a wise way to keep your focus on what matters. You will not find someone who agrees with you on everything, but there are important things that a couple needs to agree on to truly thrive and last.

God knows you better than you know yourself! Being obedience is our responsibility and God carries us the rest of the way. ask God: "What is today supposed to look like?" Ep. 7 Tell Me Bout It "Its okay to not be okay pt. 2"
In the waiting... Waiting doesn't mean being stagnate. There's a difference between fighting your battle FOR God and fighting your battle alongside God as your guide and Lord.  If we are CONSUMED with wanting GOD's best, that means His timing, too! It's a package deal!  LEAD IN YOUR LANE! Do what God has called you to do to the BEST of your ability! COMPARISON is the thief of JOY. Their season is not your season. God's timing with them is not God's timing with you!  Instead of looking at someone else's grass...water your own!  Have you PRAYED about it as much as you have talked about it? Everyone else's path is IRRELEVANT to yours! STOP comparing yourself and giving into that crippling distraction!  God is worth the wait. His plan is perfect and His timing is perfect! God waits on US all of the time.  God is not only with us DURING the wait...but He is also on the other side of the wait!  The 4 Lepers 2 Kings 6 & 7 God loves to use the most unlikely candidates to carry out his will! THANK YOU JESUS! Our circumstances around us have NO reflection or affect on the strength of God's promises!  The lepers ACTED despite of not knowing what God was going to do! Be obedient in the wait and act on what God has called you to do! If our lives are fully surrendered to God, what do we have to loose? The God of the universe holds our future in His hands!  You have no idea what God is doing on your behalf in the waiting!  Study Questions/Challenges:  If you are in a season of can you be grateful and keep perspective in the wait? How can you encourage a friend who is in a season of waiting?  Are you truly convinced that God's plan is worth waiting on? Challenge: look up bible stories/verses on waiting to increase your FAITH in the wait! (examples: Abraham & Sarah, Noah, Hannah) Find more tell me bout it topics here:

Ep. 5 Tell Me Bout It " Fear "
Find more FREE resources HERE   Three things to remember in the Storm:  We are not alone! He will NEVER leave us!  Jesus will come when we call! We cannot make it without Him!    Peter Walking on Water:    In Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Beginning in Matthew 14:25  When we are fearful, we need to seek the Lord! HE will guide our steps! The WIND: So often, it's our circumstances that spark our fear! We can't always control our circumstances, but we can control how we respond. Notice that Peter “started” to sink. He was sinking slowly...which does not happen under the law of Gravity! Jesus had no intention of letting him fail.  All we have to do is CALL ON JESUS!  DOUBT: We so often put expectations on God for when, where, and how we want our breakthrough to happen. TRUST, don't doubt, that His was is best and He will rescue!  Mark’s Account: Even in the storm, Jesus was there! He didn't cause the storm, but he was there for them in the midst of it.    The Story of Moses:  Exodus 3: God is calling Moses to lead the Isralieite people out of Slavery “God, can you pick someone else??”  For every excuse we have, God has an answer. Moses’ fear was greater than the mission God was giving him at first. God prepared Him along the way and never left His side! You don’t have to be qualified to fulfill God’s will...He will prepare you! Just say YES to the call!    The SOLUTION for a heart of Fear: Transform your mind!  We OVERCOME by Jesus’ blood given for us and by our TESTIMONY!  Line up your actions with God’s word!  Find Study Questions for this topic HERE

Ep 2 Tell Me Bout It "Identity"
For Episode 2, we wanted to talk about an ever so vital part of living a chosen life...IDENTITY in CHRIST!  For Full show notes, other FREE resources and the study questions for this episode click HERE.  Identity is such a crucial part of our walk with Christ!  Remember to DIP Daily pursuit of Christ Identity in Christ Purpose in HIM With Identity, we wear SO many labels: daughter, wife, professional, singer, etc. and then there’s “Christian.” It's almost like a name tag we pick up depending on our activity or who we are with. BUT Christianity isn't just another's a lifestyle that changes EVERY other title in our life.  "a pile of chocolate chips isn't a cookie!" It's not until your walk becomes MORE than a title that Christianity truly changes your life. God can’t bless what isn't his. Have you given him your other “name tags?” The big question: Who am I?  We are all looking for an answer to fill the void. Until we find our FULL identity in Him that the other titles start to make sense. If the first thing you have found is Jesus then the search is over. We will always be thirsty unless we nourish with LIVING water... CHRIST! The world says one thing about us...but the WORD says another! Ephesians 6:14-18: Armor of God We are warriors! It's who we are!  We have been given what we need to be protected and to carry out the mission that God has for us! ARMOR UP DAILY or you will be exposed to the enemy’s attacks Its all about daily pursuit! Belt of TRUTH: His word is TRUTH! Turn to God’s word to know who you are. Breastplate of Righteousness: Satan will try to slander our hearts with sin and shame. God has made us RIGHTEOUS through HIM! A breastplate protects the heart...make sure to guard your heart with that!  Don't discount the price God paid for your sin by bringing back old sin and guilt into your life! Shoes of Peace and Readiness of the Gospel: When you walk with God, you can walk in peace! There is nothing worse than having your peace stripped from you. God is simply saying to put on HIS armor and walk in PEACE. Helmet of Salvation: you have to protect your mind because the Enemy will attack with thoughts of doubt and second-guessing our faith! Sword of the Spirit: the word of GOD! What are you a professional in? What do you know and put into practice? We need to become a professional in the Word every day! Shield of Faith: knowing what you stand for and letting that be your shield. Our faith is what will guard us from Satan’s darts! Its the first thing the darts will hit...try to get past my faith!

What does it mean to be CHOSEN?Even though in this world we will have trouble, JESUS has overcome. John 16:33We (Sarah and Hunter) found ourselves living in unnecessary small, everyday struggles because we were not choosing the way God had made for us! (example: dwelling in worry instead of praying, letting the enemy’s lies mold the view of ourselves, etc.) Our daily lives simply were not lining up with God’s promises and direction in His word.Living CHOSEN is a CHOICE! God has given us FREE WILL to choose our lifestyle. Will we live in anxiety rather than worry? Insecurity rather than confidence? Fearful rather than victorious? The journey only BEGINS at Salvation! WOW! Our relationship with God is a DAILY walk. Step by step.GOD CHOOSES YOU! Just think about going purse shopping! (time mark 4:27). You are treasured and loved by HIM!God is NOT afraid of your mess. He wants to make you BRAND NEW!We live out our purpose one day at a time! No stress, no fear, just trust him!God pays SUCH attention to detail! He created you uniquely for a special greater purpose and assignment. There’s no use in worrying about tomorrow! Just take today. Matthew 6:34If life is a painting, everyday is a brushstroke. One stroke at a time! It will all come together in the end.Just remember to DIP!Daily PursuitIdentity in ChristPurpose in HimGod’s promises vs. our strugglesLoneliness: Being alone and being lonely are two completely different things. Loneliness is a feeling: no one sees, cares, or notices. BUT: Christ says we will NEVER be alone! He knows you, created you, and will be with you until the end of time.Fear: 2 Timothy 1:7 We have not been given a spirit of FEAR! God tells us to not fear in His word continuously. God is not afraid of our fear. He has it more than handled.Purpose: Do you ever wonder, “What is my purpose? What is my specialty?” This can get you down! You have to hand this over to God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. He has a purpose especially for YOU! When you are living in God’s will, you will be PEACE FILLED! God cannot bless anything that is not His, Are you living out YOUR purpose, or HIS purpose for you?Anxiety/Worry: We are given such straight forward instruction: instead of worrying, PRAY! It seems so simple but so many times I am not proactive in praying and remain in worry. Then Philipians goes on to say (chapter 6 verse 7) that God’s peace will guard your heart when you pray! WOW! Its an intentional decision to pray and dwell on the GOOD.Insecurity/Comparison: Ephesians 2 says we are Christ’s workmanship! There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ, so that means any condemnation is from ourselves, our world, or the enemy!Approval: Who is your priority to please? God or man? Don't spread yourself so thin trying to please others that you don't please God! We are here for GOD, not ourselves. Test yourselves on your actions: are your actions self-serving or GOD-serving?Guess what?!? All of these struggles listed, God provided a solution for in His word! He bought the solutions with the price of the cross! TAKE HEART!Find more free resources at
