The final guest of our first season is the one and only, Sarah Cailean. Sarah is a criminal behaviorist, investigator, former law enforcement officer, HLN commentator, and was a host and executive producer on the HLN series, Hell in the Heartland. The series focused on the cold case from Welch, Oklahoma that has stumped authorities for two decades, concerning the disappearance of two teenage girls, Lauria Bible and Ashley Freeman. This case is riddled with the mystery of murder, possible police cover-up, and the unimaginable truth. Sarah and Celene Beth discuss multiple cases pertaining to mothers who have killed their children and how some of them mirror Lori Daybell.

Celene Beth sat down with Dave Cawley, host of the hit Wondery podcast, Cold. The Cold podcast focuses on the 2009 Susan Powell case here in Utah and took a deep-dive into her disappearance. Cold inspired the creation of The Chosen Ones and we admire the work Dave has done on behalf of the victims and his advocacy for domestic violence. Dave is not only an investigative journalist for KSL but a writer, and photographer. Dave and Celene Beth talk about the parallels in the Powell & Daybell cases, as well as advocacy work within the true crime community.

April and Lori continued their friendship through the spring of 2019. April began to realize her friend that she met back in her church was no longer the loving, charismatic, Lori she once knew.

Melani Pawlowski is a name you may have heard in the news but was previously known as Melani Boudreaux from a previous marriage. Melani is one of Lori’s nieces who also lived in Gilbert, Arizona near the Vallow family. It was said that Melani was present when Lori and Chad first met in the fall of 2018. Melani Pawlowski, Melanie Gibb, and Alex Cox have been questioned due to their potential ties connected to the deaths of Joseph Ryan, Charles Vallow, Tammy Daybell, Tylee Ryan, JJ Vallow, as well as the attempted shootings of Brandon Boudreaux and Tammy Daybell.
