How are believers to deal with disputes in the church? How far can we legally go?

Paul instructs the church to remove a gentleman who is in a lifestyle of sin. While it is not our job to judge those who are outside the church, we do have an obligation to judge those inside the church.

In the church, you will find divisions over certain doctrinal teachings. How are we to deal with these divisions? Today Bill and Ethan discuss the division in which Paul is dealing with at Corinth and what we as Christians can do to resolve them.

Corruption and Cleansing. It has been about 2,500 years since creation. Mankind has managed to accept the false doctrine, false worship, and now society is lead into sinful acts so great that God has decided to bring judgment upon the earth. What was the real reason for such a great flood? Was is a Human/Angel Hybrid, or was it simply wickedness of man? What can we learn from the past?

Dealing with continuous unbelief in His believers, Jesus again is "deeply moved" which moves the Lord into performing a miracle that will be the pinnacle of His ministry. It will be the greatest event recorded to help affirm the disciples in their ongoing work.

Laodicea, the Complacent Church. Unfortunately we have many of these in the ranks for Christianity all across America. Some even in our own towns. How can we spot a stagnant church like this, and what should we do about it?

As we continue through Asia Minor, in our travels we come to the Church in Philadelphia. While all congregations have their struggles, there is such thing as the "Perfect Church". As Christ commends this church we ask, what does this Spiritually Alive Church look like?

Though a Church plant may start our strong with a passionate zeal, over time as members come and go, it can ultimately lead to a spiritually dead church, what does a Spiritually Dead Church look like and how can we avoid it?

Fear itself is a strong emotion that takes control of us in some of the most important and pivotal times of our life. As Christians, we are called to step out of fear, to not doubt and to have faith in God's sovereign power. How can we overcome these obstacles?

Jesus leaves Judea and begins to head to Galilee. On his journey, Jesus takes a shortcut through Samaria to a town of Sychar where He encounters a woman of unfaithfulness and large community disrespect. Jesus introduces her to a "Living Water" that will cause her to never thirst again.  Jesus understands this woman's desperate hunger, speaking the truth, and satisfying her thirst. How can we apply this to our own faith walk?

John 3:1-5 is often affiliated with water baptism, or perhaps a birth from the womb, and spiritual birth. But there is more to this chapter Jesus emphasizes rather than just your water baptism your physical birth. Nicodemus is in a desperate need for a spiritual rebirth that can only come from the Father.

There are times in our lives where how we worship does matter. 1 Samuel 15, The Lord Rejects Saul's worship, and in John 2 Jesus drives out false worship from within the temple. How do these apply to our lives today and what do we need to do to correct this?

The second installment on our series of the Gospel of John. Today we discuss the divine calling Jesus places on the lives of all believers. The call to something more than what we have, more than what or who we are.

What does it look like to be Christ-like? It comes through humility, finding joy in all circumstances.

If Christ had not died and has not risen from the dead. All of our efforts would be in vain. They are not. For those who are in Jesus, there is a hope for a future in which we will one day be free from our sinful bodies and be raised into our glorified immortal bodies.

We all know that we are to love one another, but even the pagans can do that. What does true godly love for another look like? In this episode, I hope to explain how this agape love can look different from phileo, and from the worlds.

Paul gives his testimony to King Agrippa II, testifying to the power of God to raise a Man from the dead in hopes to see Agrippa become a Christian.

We continue our study in Acts 17, Paul has reached Athens and no confronts a very intellectual and religious people. The city is filled with false gods and idols. Now Paul must find a way to use this to introduce Jesus as the Christ into the heart of the people.

Acts 17 Part 1. Today Bernard and Bill discuss Paul's journey through Thessalonica and Berea. Its been about 2 years since Paul spoke with the Jerusalem Council (Apostles) and he is on a mission to deliver the Gospel. First, he is hated for his words, then tested by some noble believers. We are faced with a challenge but yet, a command and mission as Christians. Regardless of the audience, we must be willing to not only stand up and speak the Word of God but willing to also test others (including ministers) against it to find them to be true.

The Jailbreak (Part 2) | Acts 16 In our second half of Acts 16 we discuss the events of Lydia and her conversion, Paul's experience exorcising a demon out of a little girl, his time in prison and fellowship with the newly converted jailer who almost sacrificed his own life.

2.1 The Jailbreak | Acts 16 Today Bill and Bernard began discussing the significance and purpose of OT circumcision, as well as how we should respond when obstacles are in our path when it comes to serving the Lord in our ministry fields.

Today we cover the second have of Pauls conversion. He has been ministering the Word of God, Pauls struggle was to be accepted by the Church. It has taken 14 years before they finally welcome him into the fellowship. What do we do when we feel unaccepted, or how do we respond when our faith claim is challenged?

In this video we discuss just how ruthless Paul was in his trek to destroy the Christian church and how God transformed him. In our walks, we may sometimes feel like our past makes us unworthy of God's sovereign mercy, but even our darkest secrets can be forgiven by the Lord.

In our first broadcast together, Bill and Bernard discuss one of the most important questions we can have as believers. Why is it so important for us to study the Word of God?

If there is anything more dangerous in the church it could be called Complacency, Jesus makes a clear yet stern warning in the book of Revelation to the church at Laodicea for their sins. and warns them of the precautions. What does this look like? How can we avoid it?

 There is no such thing as the perfect church, at least by the world's standards. But to Jesus the Messiah, Philadelphia is a beautiful and spiritually alive church. What did this look like? What was Philadelphia doing that we lack today? 

The Dead Church. It is sad to see that many churches these days could fit under this category. Many claim to be faithful to Jesus, others claim that the church wouldn't exist if God was not a part of it. Others claim the Holy Spirit is moving (Evidence is usually the cause of an emotional response to worship music). The list could go on. Sardis is this church. They have become to engulfed with the world, that though they are established and still stand, they are spiritually dead. While there may be a remnant of true believers, the core of the church is that the Spirit of the Lord does not dwell within this church.

 What would happen if we as a church began to tolerate certain issues? What if false doctrine was permitted to grow within the church? What would Jesus have to say about this? Today we talk about the church in Thyatira, a church that was plagues by pagan sexual immorality, and worship of false gods.

Leonard and I discuss some of our concerns with the Christian faith, and our vision for the collective ministry as well as future shows.

 Pergamum: The Church of Compromise.  Much like today, Pergamum was a church that welcomed/accepted false doctrines among their people. The Lord Himself is writing (through John) warning the people to correct this concern, otherwise the Lord Jesus will come with the sword of His mouth, judgement.

 Smyrna, the suffering church. This is part 2/7 of this series. Smyrna is the first of 2 churches in which Jesus does not rebuke. In fact all Jesus has to say for these people is to be faithful, even until the end. 

Ephesus was a well established church. Paul plants, and Timothy oversees, but over time they have lost sight of their first love. Christ calls this established church to repent or risk having their lamp-stand removed. How can we evaluate this in the church today? Is your church guilty of the sins at Ephesus?

How do we know what to look for in a church? What are some things I need to look for? Today we will be going over some key points to look for within a church. Starting with its foundations, structure, functions, environment. Have you still not found a church? If you're local, we have a good recommendation at the end of this episode.

 While entertainment is not inherently sinful. When this becomes the focal point of a ministry, we have shown signs that we have already strayed away from God. What does this entertainment-driven church look like, and why is it a spiritual danger? 

We usually think of forgiveness as something that is to be done for our own condition. In past decade of so this has become the normal idea. That forgiveness is an emotion or feeling. There is no biblical indication of that. So this raises the question, What does forgiveness look like? What does it mean "Father, forgive them"? And can we withhold forgiveness from others?

Matthew 18:21-35 | The Parable of the unforgiving servant is one we all know by a heart. Or do we? We may be able to recall a summarized version about it and use it to teach the importance of forgiveness in this passage. But just what else are we missing? What does this forgiveness look like?

Matthew 18:15-20 | When someone sins against us, we usually want to use that at means to justify their wrongs. In the Christian community it may even be a means to justify that the offending party is not really a Christian. What does Jesus tell us to do when someone sins against us? And when does enough, become enough?

Often times when someone leaves the church, we may feel as if its not really their thing. But what if someone within the church was the reason for them to walk away? In this episode we go over the importance of chasing after that one sheep that runs off and hope to bring them back into the flock.

 Redemption, this is an important part of the Christian life. The believers in Christ have all been restored into righteousness under the blood of Jesus. So the question stands, how do we go about restoring a brother who has sins? What if we have sinned against them? 

It can be really hard to grasp the idea of being "Chosen" by God, we as humans don't like the idea of giving up control. But according to Paul, in Romans 9, that is a different story. Why is the doctrine of Election so important?

Romans 6:15-23 | Some times we think, that because we are saved by the grace of God, that should be enough to merit the sin we chase after. God will forgive us right? But digging deeper into this idea, we need to realize that first and foremost, we are to be Slaves to His righteousness.

We live in a world where people are skeptic by nature. We have some many against the bible, or even questioning the validity. How do we know the bible today as we know it can be trusted? What proof do we have?

Romans 6:1-14 | We have died to sin and now live in Christ. We must now live our lives as holy. Consider ourselves dead to sin, and Present ourselves to God as one who was brought from death into life.

 Why our Theology Really does matter "Don't get lost in theology; just get into a close personal relationship with Jesus. is this a valid argument?

We have all heard it said, " it doesn't matter what you believe, as long as you focus on Jesus" But what does this really mean? Why is this phrase something that is dangerous to speak? Is it true, or does it really matter?

Romans 4:1-8 | In the early cultures, as well as even in some religions today, we see the concept of works based righteousness. Today we explain how even Abrahams righteousness was not based on works, but that our righteousness is by faith alone.

Romans 3:21-26 | Beginning a new segment that discusses the justification provided by God's righteousness, we now get into the idea of being called Saints. A royal priesthood, one guilty criminals now called innocent and holy.

 We often assume that by our own doing we have accepted Gods forgiveness, by some miracle it was our good deed(s) that is merit. The bible is clear that there is not one who is righteous or "good enough" apart from Gods work in them. 

Romans 2:17-24 - We are bound to come across them, especially in the church we call home. Sometimes its the believer in the pews, but how dangerous could this be if it was the shepherd to the flock?

Answering the Call

 Righteousness is more than just a prideful mindset, righteousness is given to the Christian upon their repentance and rebirth as a Child of God, as well as an ongoing process into righteousness (Sanctification) through the works of the Spirit within us. But what are some attributes of a Righteous person?
