Here’s The Deal

In this episode of Here's The Deal we will discuss #delegation and how important it is to your business. #delegating is absolutely necessary if you want to grow your business. Your #time is your most valuable commodity. When you first start out, you must wear all the hates, but have one of your #goals be to #outsourcing or #hiring people to do what you are not good at ASAP, just like in Andy Stanley's book #nextgenerationleader . Don't be afraid to admit you are not good at certain tasks, but be brave enough to admit it, and get someone who is stong in that area on your team.

Here's The Deal is back in 2024. This episode we talk about wanting to start a business and doing what I call "Going Cortez" . Here's The Deal Will help to answer the questions of "How do I get a business loan?" We will give you the tools you need to start a business, run and existing business, and exit a business properly. "Going Cortez", quitting your job, cashing in your 401K, spending all your savings, and maxing out credit cards, does not show the banks you are "All In" it shows them you did not know what tools were available to you. HTD will teach you how to increase your odds on obtaining SBA financing, but there are NO guarantees that you will.

In this episode of HTD Trisha and I discuss two of the most over looked things in business today: A properly written, detailed operating agreement, and the maintaining of your corporation documentation. We also brag about what AMAZING golfers we are (anyone who ever golfed with me just laughed out loud!) 

On this episode Doug and Laura give us The Deal on the changing residential market here in AZ and trends across the nation. I HATE front runners! I only work with GRINDERS, people you will know when be there no matter what the market conditions are. They are not some skinny little guy failing his arms around, they work hard for their clients.

Adam and I talk about different strategies, and philosophy on tax prep, and business lending, and how they need to be in sync with the business owners vision. We also give the business owners the "do's and don'ts" on real business.

It's been a long time, but we are back! We have reached the video portion of the show we were trying to perfect, but I should have kept the show going in the meantime, I apologize. This time around as usual we will cover how to start and grow a business. This is for Veterans or civilians. We will get into the 2A world, and Veteran legislation. Long over due I have Hanna Layton of Thrive. "Sustainable Business" is not the boogie man politicians make it out to be. We talk common sense solutions, and collaboration. She also goes into detail about the 10 week program for Veterans she has partnered with the City of Phoenix to start local sustainable community businesses. 

In life and in business you will have setbacks. You have to set goals and take your shots. Like Gretzky says "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take". When you take that shot you may miss. You have to evaluate what happened, and adjust fire. It doesn't mean don't take the shot because it is hard, "No risk it no biscuit" like Coach Arians says, you have to or your business will fail for sure. 

Sir Richard Branson got it right, take care of the employees and they will take care of the customers. I have taken my talents to Pacific Premier Bank. Hire the right people and train them, share your vision, PAY THEM, and your turnover will be zero. 

Sierra and I both run podcast, Business Salesmanship The Art of Selling Your Business and HTD. We both wanted to interview each other, so we decided to do it TOGTHER! We interviewed each other on one live recording. We didn't know if it would be a train wreck, or off the chains, but we knew we would have fun and just went for it! This show may be microphone therapy for myself, but I hope it reaches someone out there who is frustrated and wants to keep moving forward because quitting is NOT an option. Like the Jimmy V speech (yes I remember seeing it live, I'm old) it inspired me then, and it still does now, NEVER GIVE UP. Also don't sell out or water it down either, STAY TRUE TO YOU! 

Everyday we face Challenges & Choices. Do we fold, or stand strong. Do we cower or do we FIGHT! Sometimes you stand at the base of the mountain and say "Let's get it" and sometimes you say "FUCK", but either way, one hand hold and one foothold at a time you start the climb. Frederick Douglas said "If there is no struggle , there is no progress."  and Denzel said "Goals without hard work are just dreams". The challenge is in front of you, but what will your choice be? 

You need to have goals, but without hard work and DISCIPLINE the goals are just dreams. Work the problem, stay front site focused, and the results will come. As Veterans we know we have the grit to stick it out.

I know in the military we are MISSION FIRST, Drive On and all that but BURNOUT is real. You won't see it coming, but it will hit you. Think the long game, plan some downtime in your goal setting. If you go down as a business owner the mission will not get done. I didn't take this into consideration when I was younger myself, so learn from my mistakes.
