We're back for a quick update on our beloved Miami Hurricanes. We discuss the final coaching hires where Mama Hayes has better information on all of them than I do. We talk about what Manny Diaz has been up to on Twitter, bringing in Alumni (my invitation was lost in the mail), and his water transportation escapades. Go Canes!
If this off-season continues the way it has started, Miami might beat Clemson next year! Well maybe not that far. Mama Hayes and I discuss the flurry of activity since Manny Diaz has taken over as Head Coach. He's bringing a new approach and all of the transfers! Go Canes!
Whelp the season recap did not go as planned. It has been a whirlwind of a few days after the blowout loss to Wisconsin (which we talk about for 5 seconds). Mama Hayes breaks down the hiring of Manny Diaz, the almost Doomsday for Hurricanes football, and we reflect on the now very short Mark Richt Era. We thank all everyone for listening all year, but we'll be back through the offseason. Go Canes!
From our family to yours (unless you're a Gator) Happy Holidays. Enough of that, we give you a quick episode on the last month of Miami football (lets say things are...terrible) and preview the New Era Pinstripe Bowl where the Canes face a very unfamiliar foe in Wisconsin. Guys, please find a way to win this game! Go Canes!
Mama Hayes were able to record a second episode live in person, and this time we were produced! We discuss how the defense should just be on the field the whole game, a look back if our questions from the second half of the season were answered, and predict where Miami goes to a bowl game. We stay on the prediction train, figuring out how the College Football Playoff will shake out. Does Miami have a chance? Spoiler: Nope. Go Canes!
This is why we can't have nice things. Mama Hayes and I react to the Jeff Thomas news as we sit down to podcast (finally in person!). We do try to go back to the good days, like Saturday when we beat Virginia Tech and somehow we still think there is hope against Pitt! Go Canes!
Well this season has continued with a very unfortunate theme. Mama Hayes and I discuss another frustrating loss, this time at the hands of Georgia Tech and their miserable triple option attack. Cool things that happen this episode are, we are professionally produced, Dan Orlovsky might have made us credible, and we think Miami will win Saturday versus VaTech. Still have to believe, Go Canes!
As the saying goes, the best defense is a torrential downpour that slows down Duke's best players. Sadly it somehow did not rain enough Saturday night for Miami to pull it out. Double sadly, the Miami QB situation is more of a wash than the field at Hard Rock Stadium. Anyway, we're on Twitter now! So follow us at @WOWCHayes. Go Canes!
There is no emoji I could find that could do justice to describe the disaster that BC game was. We try to muster hope as this season hangs on by a thread (Purdue couldn't even save us). In great news you can now listen to Mama Hayes on Apple Podcasts. Dope! Go Canes!
Mama Hayes and I try to pass out as many "Thank You's" as we can this episode and recap our weekend. Also, Purdue football talk makes a comeback! Just saying we were on to the OSU upset weeks ago. Don't worry we did not forget the Canes but have to stretch real hard to find any positives about this coming Friday night. Go Canes?!
This Saturday will be 10 years since my father (Mama Hayes' husband) took his life. A year later in 2009, Mom and I were blessed to share our story with ESPN. For this episode we share Mike's story. Suicide is always a hard conversation but one that needs to be had to help end the stigma against it. Football fan or not, take a listen as we hope Mike's story can help save some one else's life. Mama Hayes and I are trying to become more involved in suicide prevention and this Saturday I am participating and fundraising for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk in DC (donation link below). Don't worry Canes fans, we do recap the UVA game (insert poop emoji) for the first part!
A win is a win (especially against FSU)! Mama Hayes and I celebrate it, for about 2 minutes. We find some positive and A LOT of areas for improvement. If you thought the Cardiac Canes were nerve racking on Saturday, wait for this weekend in Charlottesville. Go Canes!
It's FSU Week! Mama Hayes and I know it's all business this week and we bring our "A" Game all episode. The Canes defense brought their's against UNC, wowing Mama Hayes and earning some players the much coveted RB&R and Chocolate Chip Muffins (just behind the Turnover Chain). We crush the FSU preview and how dopey the backpack is. Go Canes!
When the Canes fan bases Zigs, Mama Hayes and I Zag. Rosier and Perry talk is after how impressed Mama Hayes is with the defensive line and receiver depth! Heads up to Boilermaker fans listening, we branch off into Purdue Football talk, you're welcome?
Canes crushed that 10 point spread at the Glass Bowl and on to FIU! This episode, Mama Hayes makes good on her promise for the Red Beans and Rice, and I share my experience being on the sideline for the Miami / FIU brawl twelve years ago. Go Canes!
Canes have their largest victory in program history, Mama Hayes and I recap the cupcak....I mean bounce back game. Of course she knows more about who played well than I do, what to expect against Toledo, and riles me up into a rant on the punting situation.
Woof. That was a tough one Sunday night. Mama Hayes and I break down went wrong, went right (yes a couple things did), who gets the famous chocolate chip muffins, and that Buba Baxa has the name to start at 2B for Canes Baseball. Stick to the end because we crush the Savannah St. analysis.
After a few years off, Walking on With Chris Hayes returns. This time there will be one consistent guest...MAMA HAYES! We will have a podcast each weak to talk Miami Hurricanes Football. This weak we have our final thoughts on last year, what we are excited about in 2018, which player gets Mama Hayes' famous chocolate chip muffins from camp, and of course Sunday's match up versus LSU in Dallas. Go Canes!
