Walking on With C. Hayes

Miami played in bowl game..but of course lost another bowl game. Mama Hayes and I go out on a higher note than the 2023 Canes and get everyone pumped to win another off-season! Go Canes!

Like Miami's offense we figured out all the issues this week and brought a strong performance. Mama Hayes recaps a big Canes W and predicts who will be in the CFP top 10 rankings on Tuesday! Go Canes!

We clean up a couple of items we didn't get to in the first episodes of season 6. Mama Hayes gives a great recap of the Ole Miss vs. LSU exciting finish. She also roasts the production quality of the ACC Network!

Mama Hayes is impressed by the rushing attack, offensive line, and the WR's blocking downfield! It's the little thing. She has a long list of candidates for award winners but still only picks two. We discuss the blowout in Eugene, the walk-off games, and the history made at Shenandoah University!

Mama Hayes and I are more back than the University of Miami Football team. We recap our the 3-0 start (which is mainly the Texas A&M Game). Mama Hayes finally reveals her criteria for the Red Beans and Rice and Chocolate Chip Muffin awards. And we introduce a new segment...Talkin' College Ball!

Miami did it! First program to be in trouble with the NCAA over NIL. Would it be anyone else? Mom and I discuss and finally recap Mario's recruiting haul.

We are back after being Mom being on the injured week last podcast! We add our thoughts to wrap up the exciting 4-OT win with NO TOUCHDOWNS! Amazing! The RBR and Chocolate Chip Muffins are also back. We then move on to Florida State preview where we predict anything could happen as well as the scores to the game! Makes sense? Go Canes! 

We are back! Mom is feeling better (especially after a Canes win) to give her initial thoughts on the game. 

We talk about the usual Miami Football shenanigans. Mama Hayes recaps how she had to read the game! Our 2nd segment we share our experiences of grief and how that has been very different for the both of us over the past 14 years. I am really proud of Mom for her line "I'm finally giving myself permission to grieve." Grief comes in different emotions and timelines for everyone. As always...Go Canes!

Mama Hayes and I refuse to shut down the podcast! We are back to highlight the positives from the UNC game, and of course still vent our frustrations. Mama Hayes brings a great stat for how Miami is already improving under Mario Cristobal, while I make a declaration...it's a Bowl Game or I'm out! We look ahead to the once high profile matchup against Virginia Tech of yesteryears. This one could be ugly be for many reasons. Go Canes!

Mama Hayes and I have not moved on well from the MTSU loss the other week. After a quick preview of the upcoming UNC game, we deal with our pain by accepting our pain. We do a good ole-fashioned top 5 list and take a look back at the 5 most frustrating non-conference losses since the Canes joined the ACC. There was some crossover but no fear, there's been enough tough losses we both have very different lists. Please surprise us against UNC! Go Canes!

Mama Hayes and I made it out of the traffic and have cooled off since the postgame drive home. We find the positive in the game while realizing there was a great opportunity to win the game. Mama Hayes gives out her first Red Beans and Rice and Chocolate Muffins of the season. It is then a look ahead at a pesky Middle Tennessee State team. Mama Hayes did her research (I did not) and previews who could Miami needs to worry about on Saturday. Go Canes!

Mama Hayes and I are finally back to kickoff the college football and Miami football season in...WEEK 3! We talk about the start of another new coaching era in Coral Gables for the 17th time in 9 years. After a couple attempts, we finally get Mama Hayes's thoughts on TVD's start to the season. We explain the origins of the Red Beans and Rice and Chocolate Chip Muffin awards (we come up with a new award for REALLY special performances). As usual, we break down the upcoming matchup vs. Texas A&M and we'll be there for it! Go Canes!

Mama Hayes uses one word to describe Miami's performance against Appalachian State, inconsistent. We recap another slow Miami start and barely walking away with a victory. We do comment on NOT being Florida State and how lucky we are. Previewing the Michigan State game, we realize that their strength's are going against Miami's weaknesses. Mama Hayes and I recap the tough loss to Alabama. Mom actually finds some positive out of the game. Some of them are reasonable and some are a...stretch. The Red Beans and Rice / Chocolate Muffins return and we predict the App State game. Go Canes!

Mama Hayes has moved since the last podcast throwing the podcast schedule off just a little bit. But no worries, she took time away from unpacking boxes to unpack whatever the hell the NCAA pulled between the Men's and the Women's tournament! The team dives right into the inequality of the two tournaments and the NCAA's response. The team grows as Mama Hayes and Chris welcome in Izzy to lend her knowledge to the podcast. Mama Hayes and Chris get into the first of a three part series on Title IX. They lay out the plan for the next nine episodes of Mama Hayes's first podcast and the themes they will cover. This episode the two of them rope you into listening with...lawyer minutia talk! Riveting stuff! They explore why Title IX act was signed in 1972 and how it did not apply to sports at all when it was first signed. Mama Hayes continues to share some of her experiences and others she interviewed about their time playing women's sports in the 1960's and 1970's. 

We're trying something new! Mama Hayes had an idea to talk about women's sports, the importance of it, and making sure to highlight their successes. We dive into what inspired her to start this podcast. Name and format is still being workshopped but we're getting our legs under us with this new adventure. We are both really excited and hoping you join us!
