Hi everyone,

I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss how difficult travelling is when it comes to battling a chronic illness.
YES, travelling can be a challenge but I don't want your illness to prevent you from travelling or having little nights away. It is good for our health to break away from our normal and feel like we are living.
So that being said let's discuss how this experience has affected us and our personal experiences.
This episode, ends another season!

REFLECTION, HOW IT CAN HELP US
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss the importance of reflection.
YES, reflecting can be tough when you are battling a chronic illness. We mourn our past lives, EVERY DAY. BUT having the bravery and courage to reflect and be open with yourself in that way will really help you in the long term. As you will open your mind up to new opportunities and experiences. We will all deeply deserve. I know this is a hard topic to really dig our teeth into but I hope by the end if the episode you feel encouraged to take a moment to reflect and take on new hobbies, skills, just broadening your horizons.
So that being said let's discuss how this experience has affected us and our personal experiences.

FEELING POORLY WHILST AT AN EVENT
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss if we have forward planned in the event that become suddenly poorly or our symptoms flare up whilst we are out at an event.
YES, It is key that we have a plan in place just so then we can enjoy the event and not have the worry in the backs of our minds. This may be telling the host about emergency numbers of family and friends to ring is needed, lying down, sipping cold water, taking a support with you to an event.. the list goes on. You know what would make you feel comfortable and who would know what to do if you did suddenly fall poorly.
So that being said let's discuss how this experience has affected us and our personal experiences.

DIAGNOSIS AND EXPERIENCING HATE ONLINE FOR SHARING YOUR STORY
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss how frightening sharing your story for the first time can be and how we feel about being diagnosed .
YES, a diagnosis provides us with with answers and some comfort. However, unfortunately some times doctors get it wrong and the wrong diagnosis is made. How do we feel about sharing our stories. Do we feel bad when our diagnosis is over turned and we find out we have something else. Have we received trolling or hate for sharing our story?
So that being said let's discuss how this experience has affected us and our personal experiences.
If you don't already, give me a follow on Instagram @sophiewardy , I post daily mental and chronic illness content over there! With great resources and advice..

WHY ARE YOU HERE IF YOU ARE SICK?
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss the judgements that are made on us when we attend events and social gathering when we are still poorly.
YES, we may still be struggling with a range of symptoms but we still want to spend time, see our loved ones and be part of events. With a chronic illness, we don't just have one bad day, every day we are plagued with symptoms we don't get a break. These kinds of judgements can really upset us though, so let's discuss this topic.
So that being said let's discuss how these comments affect us and how we respond to them.

YOU LOOK FINE
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discuss how we feel when someone tells us, we look well and we look fine at events.
YES, it is lovely to receive positive compliments, but at the same time it can be heart breaking for us. As we believe that people don't fully understand our illness and much it has taken for us to attend that event, gathering or party. People don't see the pain and suffering behind the brave face and the bright smile.
So that being said let's discuss how these comments affect us and how we respond to them.
If you don't already, give me a follow on Instagram @sophiewardy , I post daily mental and chronic illness content over there! With great resources and advice..

HOW INFECTIONS AND VIRUSES AFFECT US
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to talk about the symptoms we experience when we become poorly with an infection or virus and how these symptoms affect us.
YES, infections and viruses will affect us, we aren't immune -nobody is. But sometimes we experience scary, embarrassing and hard symptoms that people can be really judgemental about and hard on us for. When it really isn't our fault. The symptoms are out of our hands.
So that being said let's discuss how these symptoms affect our mental health as well as physical health.
If you don't already, give me a follow on Instagram @sophiewardy , I post daily mental and chronic illness content over there! With great resources and advice..

THE THREAT OF VIRUSES AND INFECTIONS
Hi everyone,
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to talk the fear we have of picking up viruses and infections that may leave lasting damage on us.
YES, infections and viruses will affect us, we aren't immune -nobody is. But when your immune system is already suppressed and weak, they are a massive worry and concern to us.
So that being said let's discuss how these fears affect us and what viruses/infections have you suffered from and have they left you in a worst health position.

THERAPY BENEFITS
So happy to have you back for series 9 - of CHRONIC BUT ICONIC.
I can't believe we are on series 9.
Today, I wanted to discussion therapy and how therapy can help us mentally and physically.
YES, it can be so scary and it takes a lot of courage to take that first step and really embrace therapy for all it is about. It can also be tasking finding the right therapist for you and this may not always happen the first time, you may have to trial a few therapists in order to find your match.
So that being said, let's discuss this topic further.
I would love to hear about your experiences with therapy and your journey too.

THE JOURNEY OF CHRONIC ILLNESS

Today we explore and discuss the journey we go through with chronic illness and really take a moment to reflect as we close of series 8.
I would love to hear your own personal experience and journey so far with your health and how things are going, what lessons you have learnt and if you feel like you are managing well.
All that said, let's get into the episode.

DIGESTING OUR EMOTIONS
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how important it is to show, address and be truthful when it comes to our emotions.
How it truly is so important that we don't just 'put a brave face on,' or filter our emotions in order to feel like we are protecting our loved ones. They want to help us and understand as much as they can and they can only do this if we are truthful with them.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with how you personally handle your emotions and if you find it easy or hard to express them with loved ones.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

JUDGEMENTS IN THE WORKPLACE
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how we can be severely judged in the workplace .
Maybe your illness is what costs you the opportunity to be employed by the company as you can't commit to being in the office 5 days a week due to treatments and flare up's.
Maybe other employees make you feel like an outsider because they are jealous that you get more flexibility than they do in regards to working from home some days.
These are just two examples..
But sadly chronic illness sufferers can find the workplace a deeply unhappy and uncomfortable place to be due to the judgements being made about them.
And also we lose the opportunity for many jobs and careers due to our health.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with judgements in the workplace and how this has affected your work life.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

LOVED ONES BEING JUDGED ABOUT YOUR HEALTH AND THEIR SUPPORT
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how our loved ones can sadly face a lot of judgements about their support and the love they give us because of our health.
Sadly people love to judge and make assumptions and our loved ones aren't immune from these judgements. They may have their own family and friends who are questioning if being with you is right for them, do they need constant health stress in their life? Is it putting too much of a strain on their life balance? Do they not socialise as much now. It's truly upsetting that they do get questioned and that doubt gets placed on their minds.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with loved ones and if they have ever opened up to you about what others say to them when you aren't around!
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

GOALS AND DREAMS - YOU CAN STILL ACHIEVE SO MUCH.
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how important it is to still have dreams and goals that we aim for and chase.
Goals can be daunting when suffering from a chronic illness because many of us have had our goals left in tatters due to our health. That doesn't mean we can't set new goals even smaller goals that may seem silly to some people but are big achievements for us. It is also REALLY important that we celebrate all our wins, big and small because it really does empower us and instantly boosts our mood.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with goal setting and the dreams you want to chase. Maybe you love a good old vision board, I would love to hear your experiences.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

HOW TO BE OPEN AND HONEST WITH YOUR LOVED ONES ABOUT HOW WE ARE FEELING.
Hi Guys!
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how important it is to really be really open and honest with how you are feeling to your loved ones.
We really take a deep dive today why it's so important to be open and honest and not to push through symptoms and fib about how we are feeling because if we are out with them and we become poorly they may not know how to help and react.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with communicating with loved ones and meet up's, how do you navigate them.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

SUPPORT GROUPS - GOOD OR BAD?
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how support groups can work for us and finding a balance with them.
Support groups are on the rise and it is amazing to join one and connect to like-minded guys and girls going through similar to what we are battling but finding a balance can be tough. There are so many positives of support groups but sometimes there can be negative comments, posts and judgements through around that have a negative affect on you. So it's all about finding a balance.
I would love to hear your own personal experience with support groups and if you find the helpful, or a negative place for you.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

FEELING INVISIBLE WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how we can often feel invisible.. we can feel unseen, unheard and forgotten.
Often we are such pro's at the brave face and bright smiles that our loved ones don't question if we are struggling or not. They see us doing tasks and think we are doing well, they don't see that for us it was a simple task that felt like climbing Mount Everest.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.

REALLY SHOWING YOUR LOVED ONES HOW GRATEFUL YOU ARE FOR THEM.
Welcome back to Chronic But Iconic SERIES 8. Yes baby!
This series I really want to focus on our support systems and the support they give us, but with that love, kindness and support comes guilt on our end.
Today we explore and discuss how important it is so show gratitude to our loved ones for all that they do for us.
Often we don't see that they are going through this health journey with us and it is so tough on them too. They hate watching their loved ones struggle, suffer, be in constant pain and go through treatment after treatment. It's heart-breaking for them because they love and care for us so much.
All that said, let's get into the episode.
I would love to hear your personal stories and feelings about this topic.
