Back on Dec 13th of 2021, I interviewed Drake Milligan on my All Star Morning Show on KHYI in Dallas, Tx. Recently, Drake appeared on AGT and my YouTube livestream from that interview suddenly shot up in views. For this episode of Red Dirt America, I decided to release that interview on the podcast.  It features two live performances from Drake, I hope you enjoy it.

On this episode of Red Dirt America, I talk to Joshua Ray Walker who released his third album in three years! That's quite an accomplishment considering 2 of the albums were put out during a pandemic!

Jason Boland and the Stragglers have been in the forefront of Texas and Red Dirt music for over 20 years! They're dropping a brand new album on Dec 3rd produced by Shooter Jennings called "The Light Saw Me." It's a concept album telling the tale of a "Time-Travelling, Alien-Abducted Cowboy!" In this episode, I talk about the album with Jason and "probe" to find out what that really means!

Hayes Carll's 8th album drops on Oct 29th, I talked with Hayes extensively about that album, life during the pandemic as a musician, and the healing power of music, which led to him telling me about a true Christmas miracle that he experienced when he was just 25!

Randall King is a rising country star who's put in the work and has been compared to the likes of George Strait and Alan Jackson. He has a major label deal with Warner Bros and has earned their respect with his hard work and diligence. He's an artist whose music you'll fall in love with.

Texas Legends Joe Ely, Butch Hancock, & Jimmie Dale Gilmore first got together as the Flatlanders in 1972, they were together for a year, put out one album and then...their individual careers took off and it was 20 years before there was another Flatlanders album! Fast Forward to 2021 and they've just released their first album in 12 years, Treasure of Love. I talk with all three about the new album, their storied careers and the surprising influence they all have in common.

This episode was recorded on Aug 5, 2021 as the Wild Feathers were playing a show in the Dallas market with Blackberry Smoke and the Allman Betts Band. The Wild Feathers formed in 2010 and put out their debut album in 2013. They were taking off right before the pandemic shut everything down.

You may remember Curtis Grimes from The Voice (he was on Cee Lo Green's team and made it to the quarter finals) or you may know him from his 12 number 1's on the Texas Country Charts. This week I talk with my old friend about his faith, family, and music, and why he waited so long to put out a self-titled album!

Jesse Dayton is a Killer guitarist and artist in his own right! Originally from Beaumont, TX, Jesse has played with Waylon, Johnny Cash, Ryan Bingham and many others. He's worked with Rob Zombie, played and inaugural ball for a President and has written his first book. I talk with Jesse as he gets set to play the historic listening room, The Kessler, in Dallas.

Darryl Worley burst onto the country music scene in 1999 with his debut album on Dreamworks. He had a successful career with three number ones and 18 chart topping singles, now, he's getting set to play a show in Sherman, TX at Old Quail Run Farm. We talk about his career, his show, and the state of country music on this episode of Red Dirt America!
