Rising Above Childhood Challenges
We sat down with Mental Health Coach, Destinee, who discussed her childhood experience as a caregiver, battling sucidial thoughts, and learning how to own her story.
Destinee's life journey has been a testament to resilience, rising above a challenging upbringing marked by familial discord, substance abuse, and her mother's battle with illness. Growing up a caregiver while striving for education, she experienced bullying and isolation, facing the depths of depression, anxiety, and identity crises. A 2017 ADHD diagnosis provided a crucial lens of self-understanding. Despite academic hurdles, she triumphed with a Bachelor's in Psychology from Colby-Sawyer College. With nearly a decade of therapy, her transformative 'quarter-life crisis' birthed a purpose: Empowerment through public speaking. In 2023, Destinee champions those touched by adversity, offering a path to inner peace and healing.
