Podcast #6: Why Your Mind is Frustrated with You

Podcast #6: Why Your Mind is Frustrated with You

After this episode Your mind will be in sync with your body and the ideas and passion will flow.

Look out world, you’re rockin' it now.

Your mind is trying it’s best to support and move you forward. To help you create and be with joy and contentment.  But it needs more from you.  Just as you’re getting to know your mind and build a different relationship with it, your mind needs to get to know your body and build a different relations with it.

Our bodies are smarter than we are.  So much of our emotions get stored, AND STUCK, in our bodies.  Our mind spin and the body is agitate and restless.  It’s trying to tell us something and we don’t, (or don’t know how) to listen.

Often it’s as simple as getting a glass of water.  At other times it may require the body to move and ‘shake it off’.  Whatever is needed your body knows what to do.  Let’s discover how to listen to it.  This is the only way we can wake up our bigger selves and come into the present moment.  You know this is what true living is - right here - right now.  MIND BODY AND SEEDS.

Podcast #5: What's Growing in the Garden of Your Mind

Podcast #5: What's Growing in the Garden of Your Mind

So, here it is, Podcast #5: What’s Growing in the Garden of Your Mind

Let's talk about seeds: Our mind is a beautiful garden made up of seeds created from our thoughts.

Every piece of information from the outside world is planted in our mind – seeds. Our garden can be beautiful and full of colour and vibrancy, or dark and full of insidious weeds.

Like any garden, we can transform it.  We can purposefully plant the right seeds, choose the right nutrients, and nurture it the right way.

In this podcast I will talk about the garden of our mind.  It may be clouded with some weeds (through thoughts and experiences), AND it can be transformed.

By waking up to the seeds already there we can CHOOSE which ones need to be pulled up and which new ones to be planted and cultivated.

The great new is, THE LOOK OF YOUR GARDEN IS UP TO YOU.

Podcast #3, Stop being your own worst enemy with harsh judgments

Podcast #3, Stop being your own worst enemy with harsh judgments

Does Self-Judgement Stop you from Sharing your Wisdom and Creativity?

After this episode You’ll let go of judgments that are holding you back so you can confidently coach and create

Part of the definition of mindfulness is taking a non-judging stance, in other words, It’s not our thoughts that are holding us back, it’s our belief and reaction to them.

This is important because it’s not our lack of intelligence or creativity that paralyzes us from getting out there, its our judgments of it.  Thinking ‘it should be better, it’s not good enough'.

This held me back for years.  I would be paralyzed by how harshly I judged myself and the work I did.

No more.  My mind still judges, this is what the mind does.  What I don’t do now is follow the judgments down the rabbit hole that kept me feeling ‘not good enough'.

"Of all the judgments we pass in life, none is more important than the judgment we pass on ourselves."  ~ Nathaniel Branden

I know it’s scary to really examine the thoughts and judgments in our mind.  It’s easier to ignore them.   But I know first hand how this allows them to get into your subconscious until they become deep beliefs.   So lets bring them (the little buggers) into the light and create a new relationship with them.  Tame the dragon as they say.

Learn to bring real compassion to the judgments you’ve lived by for so long by listening to this week’s entire episode.

I’ve included a guided meditation for you so you can practice letting go immediately.

And don’t forget to join my Private Facebook group to ask question, get more guidance, and share your experience.

Podcast #4, The Science of Mindfulness

Podcast #4, The Science of Mindfulness

Buddhist Wisdom shows that with awareness and meditation we can reshape our mind and create new attitudes and beliefs,

Science proves it.

If you still think mindfulness and meditation is all woowhoo and flighty, let me show you how science proves it works.

The brain is a very complex organ.   Even just 30 years ago it was believed that the brain didn't change after childhood and was fixed and hardwired by the time we became adults.

This is not true.  The brain can and does change throughout our lives – its adaptable like plastic. – this is why neuro-scientists call it NEUROPLASTICITY.

Our brain is being constantly reshaped throughout our lives.

I gravitated towards mindfulness over 30 years ago.  For me, it just made sense.  We are so much more than our thoughts and we have the ability to create the course of our life.  We are all part of each other and the universe.  THERE IS SOMETHING MORE OUT THERE THAN ME.

NOW SCIENCE PROVES IT NOT JUST WOOWOO.  (and I'm not alone :))

This is the beauty of waking up and becoming aware of what we feed our brain.  And when we start to consciously pay attention to what we feed it, we can choose what we put into it, we can choose our reality.

There’s a saying: “garbage in, garbage out.”  What if we turned that around and say “Compassion, confidence in, compassion, confidence out.”

Isn’t it amazing that we live in a world where ancient wisdom is now fact.

Podcast #2, Meditate the Right Way - you have no excuse not to.

Podcast #2, Meditate the Right Way - you have no excuse not to.

After this episode You’ll have no excuse not to meditate

In this podcast you’ll discover what meditation is and isn’t.  Everyone can meditate.

mindfulness-awareness, or sitting meditation, comes from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.  MEDITATION in Tibetan literally means to become familiar with, to make known, to know thyself

Meditation simply requires us to sit still and be with what is.

What we want to bring to our formal meditation is a purpose.  Whether watching the breathe, noticing thoughts, or repeating a phrase over and over again.  This is where we settle the mind, drop out of the ‘busyness’ of our mind and troubling thoughts, and come to know and love ourselves.

If mindfulness is like getting exercise naturally by swimming in the ocean or walking up a mountain,  meditation is like going to the gym and deliberately working out

Once you learn the basic postures and how to start slow, you will have no more excuses for not meditating.

The simple instructions I’m sharing with you today are all you’ll need to get started.  As you go further into a daily meditation practice, questions and obstacles will arise, which is quite natural.  This is where my private Facebook group will be most helpful.  The biggest concern I get from people is “it’s not working, My mind won’t sit still”.  In the group you can ask questions and bring up obstacles.  We can examine these together and I can assure you they are all normal concerns when you first start a meditation practice.

Podcast #1 Automatic Pilot and Mindfulness

Podcast #1 Automatic Pilot and Mindfulness

This is my welcome Podcast.  This is where I will tell you all about my method, steps, and purpose of this podcast.

We can only face our fears and overcome the negative voice in our head when we become fully aware of it and face it head on.  In this podcast I will talk about our habit of being on automatic pilot.  We spend much of our lives in a trance and we're not even aware of it.  We have roughly 70,00 thoughts a day and 90% of them we had the day before.

Once we wake up to our mind we can approach it mindfully and stop reacting to every thought that we have.  Don't believe everything your think. :)
