PTA Meetings: Punch Drunk Love 2002
Back in the early 2000's, I'll admit it was odd seeing Adam Sandler in a dramatic like  role.  I mean this was the same guy who made a song about famous Jewish people, had to repeat elementary school, got into a fight with a game show host, and was even the son of Satan at one time too. So when Paul Thomas Anderson hired Adam Sandler as the lead for his new movie, a lot of people including myself was surprised to see what would happen with this collaboration.  Well I'm here to say that it was so joyous, a bit odd and dark at points but so very heart warming and endearing. Transformers The Movie (1986) 35th Anniversary Review
All right gang.  This episode is really cool because my guest is a 1st time podcaster but a long time friend.  I have known this guy since we were in the 4th grade in elementary school.  Yeah we are talking childhood here and when I found out that they were going to show Transformers The Movie back in theaters.  This was the perfect opportunity to re watch a movie that we both saw as kids back in 1986. Welcome to the show, my comrade and former podcast host before there was ever a freaking internet, Josh Puhl.  I hope to have him and his wife who is also one of my best friends on a future episode, but for now sit back and enjoy our episode that is more than meets the eye.  Because it's a podcast and podcasts uses your ears and not your eyes.  I mean you have to use you eyes to find this episode and hit play but its not all about your eyes.  It more of your ears.  You get what I'm saying , don't you. DePalma December: Body Double (1984)
We begin the month of December by covering the films of director Brian DePalma.  He has been compared to Alfred Hitchcock  but many of his films are a lot more mature in content.  Not only does he direct thrillers, but he has worked in horror, action, dramas, and musicals too. On this episode, Ryan of Coolness Chronicles and Reels of Justice returns to discuss  DePalma's homage to Hitchcock's Rear Window and Vertigo with Body Double.  Listen to him and The Vern go over moments of this intricate thriller. Movies That Changed My Life: Black Swan (2010)
It's October so that means it's a good time to look at some horror movies.  Now right away I can hear you screaming that this is a drama and in no way a horror flick.  I assure you it has all the tropes associated with the genre and belongs with all the classics.   Starring Natalie Portman as a ballerina who looses her mind in her obsession to be perfect. Black Swan had a lot of critical praise including Portman who took home the Oscar for best actress in 2010.   Yet there is so much to love about this movie and in my opinion it's one of director Darren Aaronofsky's best films he has ever made.  Listen to Vern explain that even after 10 years, the movie still holds up Ads By Four's a Crowd That Song From That Movie Shoutouts to Moviedrone Shooting The Shit Sponsor Grasshopper Virtual Business Phone Service http://www.trygrasshopper.com/cinemarecall

Pump Up The Volume(1990) and it's Soundtrack via ScreenTrax
Hello listeners. On this episode, I, The Vern present to you yet another podcast that I am no longer running.  It was called ScreenTrax and it was just me and my good friend/ guitarist  Jordan AKA Vivian The Kid  talking about a movie and the soundtrack that went with it.  For this show, Jordan and I look back at the movie that got many people into podcasting, Pump Up The Volume.  I apologize for any audio problems during the show.  We recorded everything live at Jordan's house using a cheap microphone. Killer Klowns From Outer Space(1988)
For today's episode, The Vern is releasing one from the podcast vault of As You Watch.  This was the very first show that he was ever a part of and he had many good memories of those times.  Why am I speaking in the 3rd person, I do not know.  But I do know that Joe, Nick and myself had a very good time discussing the cult hit Killer Klowns from Outer Space with guest Shane of Film Rehab.  We also discuss our top three favorite clowns in movies.  Keep in mind that this episode was recorded several years ago so our lists may seem a bit outdated. I know it seems a bit odd to have this movie be part of our latest season because it did very well at the box office and it did have positive reviews.  Yet this was an episode that was previously recorded for another movie site that no longer has a podcast network.   So I thought it would be fun to repost this episode with guest Paul Hawkins of Filmily Fortunes to look at our favorite moments from The Fifth Element. Heathers or How The Vern learned to stop worrying and love the podcast
Today is Friday December 6th and it is my Birthday and since, I am turning the age that is the answer to everything in the universe     I thought it would be cool to post the very first podcast I was ever on.  That show was The LAMBcast.(Link is below) and the movie that I got to discuss with other professionals was Heathers.  You see each month a film gets picked to be movie of the month, and I won with my very first podcast experience ever.  So my voice is a little choppy and not at all the professional voice you have grown to love .   Still a fun show, and I hope you all enjoy.
