JusLo is still new to releasing music, having started only a couple of years ago, but since his launch he and his manager Sam Moreland have gotten some of his songs hundreds of thousands of streams, shot music videos that have blown up locally and nationwide, and they even got his song "Wristwatch" on NBA 2k20!! He has opened for Lecrae, to a crowd of over 1,700 people, and he pioneered a new Tik Tok craze with his "three-word freestyles" racking up millions of views and half a million followers. Aside from his accomplishments so far, JusLo is one of the nicest people we've had in the studio, and it was a pleasure to hear his story. This is only the beginning for him and his team as they transition to a new setting out in Los Angeles next month. At last! The folks from Lyrical Lemonade referred to him as "The Godfather" of Southwest Florida rap music, and they weren't wrong. Slyte has a heavy discography on music streaming platforms from the years of work he has put into hip hop. "The Backhouse" - a sort of mythological entity to some people in the local music scene - was originally Slyte and his friends around town getting together to hang out, party, and spit bars. This dynamic caused Backhouse to evolve into what it is today - a record label that is gathering some of the most talented MCs, musicians, and artists from the local area to highlight what SWFL has to offer the music industry. Other than being a creator himself, Slyte evolved over the years as well and is now a music mogul in the making. He wears many hats, and has handed out many others as he builds a team of like-minded creatives to establish something to make waves around the world. Do you like hip-hop? Ever wonder what exactly goes into producing a song besides spitting bars? Kevin Rios is a SWFL local who knew he wanted to produce hip-hop beats since he was in middle school. Kevin has been producing music for years, and his Instagram page is full of him cooking up hits and hard bass kicks, but his debut project being released to the masses is called "Heights" on November 8th! Alan de la Torre is a man with his hands on many different projects. After talking with him, it seems like he's tried several different outlets to let out this creativity throughout his life. Music is something that's been apart of him for many years now, and in more recent years he's been finding ways to link all of his projects together into one awesome, creativity conglomerate. He is an artist under the name Gutterlove, a rapper under the name Guttergod, and a guitarist for the metal band Traitors. D'Angelo says that he he and his family have  trained people from practically toddlers into full-grown wrecking machines. Nick Recchia is a professional fighter out of Fight Zone, and is tenured in the SWFL fighting scene. Born and raised in Naples, Darby explains some of her trials growing up as an artist and finding her space in the community. After deciding one day that she was DONE working for a corporate grocery store, she made the transition into doing what she loves. If there is one thing to know about this man, it's that he's got BARS! Lutz is one of our favorite lyricists around SWFL, and his progress as an artist is very apparent to anyone who has been following him. In this episode we dive into Lutz growing up in Ohio as a skateboarder and finding his love of rhyme and rhythm as a teenager. We discuss what it's like moving from playing open-mic-nights to being the featured artist on a stage. It was interesting to hear his writing process and some of his insecurities and challenges as a fairly new rapper in this scene. One thing is clear, Lutz has a passion for the roots of hip-hop, and you can hear that in just about all of his songs. There is some HEAT coming out of the 239 in rap and hip-hop. We recently heard of Armani 2x after having his track "Lied to Me" featured on the No Srrys project produced by local legend Mar Lovacé. The beginning of his interview is "interrupted" by his son running into the podcast room. I found this to be a great way to start the episode because of the effect that Armani's family has on his music and motivation. Evan (bassist and professional sound engineer) helped us temporarily upgrade the podcast studio and get everyone on a mic! He is a charismatic guy who has made a name for himself in multiple cities and states, and he has no plans to stop anytime soon. In this episode we talk in length about what he is currently up to in the Miami music scene, contemporary hip-hop, the effects of social media on music, as well as take a look into the beginning of his music career. Danny and Brian pull out an artifact from way back in 2007 when Pvblo recorded his FIRST song, and it leaves him speechless. You won't wanna miss this one!

Nate Traveller (AKA Couch Boy Citrus) is a prolific name in the SWFL music scene. Recently signed to Pulse Music Group, Nate is making big changes in order to evolve as an artist and as a person. It was great to sit down and pick his brain before he makes the transition to Los Angeles. We discuss veganism, the number 47, his music-writing process, the tattoo on his hand and how to find the "honey" in a person, as well as taking a deep dive into some of Nate and Danny's stories from back in the day.
