Celebrating the Cashback for Communities Youth Work Fund

This week on CLD Talks YouthLink Scotland's National Grants Manager Jane Dailly, Youth work manager, Shetland isles Martin Sommers, Tayside council on Alcohol’s Vikki Jeffrey and TD1 Youth Hub Manager Douglas Ormston discuss the impact of the CashBack for Communities Youth Work Fund over the last 15 years. The Fund supported over 440,000 young people since 2008, redirecting the proceeds of crime into the most deprived communities in Scotland.

In todays episode ben and Conor went and visited the class of the community development  course at Glasgow university and the community education course at UWS in these visits we gave the classes an insight into the podcasts background to how it first started and how’s it developed over time. We then invited some of the students from both classes to do a mini podcast with us talking around their journey within CLD and how they are enjoying there courses as they develop in their CLD Journey!

In this episode we discuss the full circle moment Biddy had when she became the Managing Director, the support Fresh Start off the community, how the organisation has evolved and so much more!

Fresh Start's mission is to ‘help people make a home for themselves’. The words are simple, but behind those words are the passion and commitment of our staff, volunteers and donors to break the cycle of homelessness.
