Episode 102: Melvin Battiest

Episode 102: Melvin Battiest

On this week's episode I'm joined by a man with a spectacular story of tragedy and triumph. Meet Melvin Battiest. Mel is someone that I have the pleasure of working with and who has shared bits of his story with me. He spent 38 years of his life locked up for a crime he wasn't guilty of. In that time he got to help countless amounts of inmates find their way into spirituality and now he has taken that same skillset and he is doing the same outside for people being reintroduced into society after a long prison sentence. This is one hell of a story from one fine example of human tenacity.

Thank y'all for joining me and we will see y'all next week! Big love!!!

Episode 94: Sober Caucus History

Episode 94: Sober Caucus History

Today the Sober Caucus met up for a post-convention business meeting and we crossed a pretty monumental threshold. We are able to offer a couple of scholarships to people seeking recovery due to all of the amazing love we have gotten via donations and the like. So to commemorate this milestone, I figured I would do a throwback to an episode from January 2021 where I interviewed Kim Ruff and the concept of a "Straightedge Caucus" was born. This idea has come so very far and we are just getting started!

Thank y'all for the love, support, and good vibes! Thanks for tuning in and will see y'all next week! Big love!

Episode 91: Sacred Pillars Church

Episode 91: Sacred Pillars Church

This week I am joined by Candi and Tiffany from Sacred Pillars Church to talk about the work they do. Sacred Pillars Church utilizes plant based medicines to promote healing and spirituality. The work that they do has helped many people find healing from past trauma, new perspectives on spirituality, and radical self acceptance. Often times people view psychedelic substances as solely a means to party, but these 2 are really challenging that narrative with living evidence that there are genuine medicinal purposes to be found when used with intention. All in all this was one of my favorite conversations I've had so far on the show, absolutely check it out and be sure to go to their website for more info!

Episode 66: Britt's Story

I had the absolute honor of sitting down with Britt, co-host of the FAB Show and someone who has overcome some serious obstacles in their life, to discuss her journey through food addiction and binge eating. Britt does a spectacular job of pointing this out as well as being gut-level honest about her struggles and accomplishments. I, for one, and beyond grateful that she had the courage to come on the show and talk about this and I hope it reaches others who need to hear it. Episode 58: A Trillion Dollar Racket w/Brian Saady

Episode 58: A Trillion Dollar Racket w/Brian Saady

This is one of the more in depth interviews I've done that really lays bare exactly how far gone US interventionism is especially in terms of foreign drug policy. My guest, author Brian Saady, is extremely nuanced in his discussions pertaining to the Iran Contra affair, The School of the Americas (WHINSEC), the current breakdown on Haiti, and many other topics. This interview has a ton of information and is well worth the listen. Absolutely follow Brian and his tremendous work at www.BrianSaady.com

Episode 57: 12 Steps to Liberty w/Ash

Episode 57: 12 Steps to Liberty w/Ash

A few weeks back I had someone reach out to me after they had listened to the episode with Spike and said they were working on a book that mirrored my thoughts on the very real 12 steps to libertarian pipeline. Ash quickly became someone I was bound and determined to get on the podcast to share not only his experience, strength, and hope, but also an excerpt or two from what he is working on. This was a REALLY damn good interview, Ash has an awesome story and a flair for writing. I hope yall enjoy and be on the lookout for future appearances with this great example of recovery!

Episode 55: Sobriety & Education w/RT

I'm joined today by my friend RT so he can tell us about his sobriety as well as his experiences in the public education system. RT makes a compelling case for libertarians to get involved in public education while providing a story of hope.

Episode 54: Finding Freedom w/John Odermatt

Episode 54: Finding Freedom w/John Odermatt

I had the privilege and honor of sitting down with the person that helped get the Clean Libertarian project off the ground. John is the host of Finding Freedom (formerly Felony Friday) and he has done a remarkable job at highlighting stories of hope and courage from those who have been churned through the criminal justice system. We had a fantastic conversation about how he got started on his journey, what he's learned, and where he hopes to see this journey lead to someday. Be sure and follow him on social media and check out his coffee startup, Run Your Mouth Coffee (rymcoffee.com)

Episode 53: Making the Change w/Drafty Bastard

I had the honor of sitting down with Drafty and hearing the story of his downfall and his recovery. There's some seriously profound points that Draft brings up in regards to what it takes to truly get this deal and to get it well. When we get sober, it's up to US to make this new life work for us and that's exactly what we cover in this episode. Absolutely listen, share it around, and follow drafty on Twitter: @DraftyBastard
