Ep.25- The 'Triple Threat' in Ontario Hospitals

Dr.Appleton gives his first hand address of the viral uptick in Ontario Hospitals, including thoughts on mask mandates, medication shortages, and the history of stressed Provincial and Federal Healthcare systems.

Andrew also covers a related Instagram Q and A- questions answered are:

Why do so many children have respiratory issues right now?

Is the spike in RSV linked to lack of viral exposure due to lockdowns etc?

If we didn’t have a supply issue with fever medication, would there be the current problem in Hospital?

How much of the hospital increase is due to hypochondria?

What are people going to the Hospital for that they could not get from a family physician- is lack of appointment availability in primary care an issue?

Why is there a medication shortage?

What is a truly dangerous temperature for a 0-5 year old to reach?

What can parents do at home to prevent going to the hospital?

Are fevers not a mechanism for combatting infection? Is there a downside to liberal fever medication, acutely or chronically?

How bad is the nursing shortage?

Have you seen a fundamental change in the way physicians under 50 practice medicine? How and why?

Why haven’t hospitals hired back staff who were fired per vaccination policies?

Do you agree with the ongoing encouragement/pressure to vaccinate children against CV19?
